Sore tatas too Milestones: Rants/Raves/Vents: I don't have any, except that I've gained 4 pounds already. 😨 Guess I need to be more careful with what I'm eating. Lol mattsgirl2004 I gained 15lbs before my 8w appointment! 4lbs is NOT bad. I actually wouldn't even be concerned about it except my OB mentioned that I shouldn't gain any weight in 1st tri. So, I left my appointment this week feeling kind of embarrassed. I mean, that didn't stop me from eating horribly yesterday or the day before, but still. 😜

Weeks pregnant: 9 on Saturday.
Baby is the size of a: wild strawberry, 1/2 a lego brick, or a pygmy sea horse.
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: Third.
Team: green.
Appointments: none for two weeks.
Symptoms: nausea/food aversions 24/7, sore boobs, exhaustion.
Milestones: I passed all the blood work last week.
Rants/Raves/Vents: None I can think of.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? I really want to do Europe: England, France and Italy are the highest on my list. We may attempt to plan a trip for our 15th anniversary in 6 years. For our next trip, we've been half-assily planning a trip to the Virginia mountains for Christmas/New Years, but I don't think we'll still be doing that now.

I mean it's illogical, you're adding all this blood and fluid to your body, oh course you're going to gain! And you're thin! I would definitely not feel embarrassed. I think they say you're supposed to gain ~30 and you lose ~15 with the baby. I was stressing last time because I gained 50 but I lost 30! Of it with the baby so I only 5 extra lbs to lose. People just gain differently.

Baby is the size of a: plum
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Finding out. Should know next week.
Appointments: I had an appt yesterday so not until 10/24.
Symptoms: Some nausea and food aversions still but I think they're starting to ease up.
Milestones: I'm going to start telling work and the world on Friday! I'm always so anxious to tell at first and by 12 weeks I forget I'm even pregnant half the time.
Rants/Raves/Vents: My rant is not pregnancy related but I'm now in the 5th week of a complete kitchen remodel and the disarray in my house is making me crazy. And It's probably going to be at least 2 more weeks.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? I'm ultimate fantasy trip is Greece. We don't have any major trips coming up.

Gaining in 1st tri means you're eating, which is GOOD. I have so many feels about this.

They put a lot of emphasis on weight gain during pregnancy. I totally understand if I was gaining an unhealthy amount, but I'm still newly pregnant and I almost always gain some weight during 1st tri. Usually the weight gain isn't mentioned until I'm father along. So, I guess it caught me off guard on Monday. I generally gain about 40-45 pounds with each full term pregnancy and always hear about how that's about 20-25 pounds too much. I dread the "you're gaining too much weight talk" as time goes on at my appointments. I really just want to enjoy things this time. Think it would be inappropriate for me to ask my OB to just not discuss it with me in the future?

Think it would be inappropriate for me to ask my OB to just not discuss it with me in the future? Not in the slightest. You are in charge of your quality of care; if you want them to lay off, they can't read your mind. I think talking about weight gain in first tri is stupid in general. As long as you're eating, I'm 100% in "first tri is survival" camp. So, so, SO many people lose in first tri (I'm still not back up to my pre-preg weight, though I'm close), it's ridiculous to fault you for four freaking pounds. ALSO ALSO, you have a slim build, based on your picture. It would make absolute sense to me that you would start gaining baby weight practically immediately. Honestly, even 40-45lbs for a pregnancy seems like an amazing weight for your stature. Your OB can suck an egg and you can tell them I said that.

Weeks pregnant: 11w5d
Baby is the size of a: no clue - about two inches or so though.
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Green
Appointments: NT/12 week appointment next Wednesday
Symptoms: food aversions, continued weight loss, nausea, the norm.
Milestones: I'm telling my boss today 😬😬 I'm so nervous/anxious that I just want it over with.
Rants/Raves/Vents: I just want a poke bowl and a Bloody Mary. And a hug and a good cry. I think I'm just stressed out. I'm hoping starting I share news will be good for me.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? Nope. We'll probably go visit PR next year during my maternity leave if the island is back up and running though.
Not a trip, but a super fun experience coming up: DD and DH are both in our friends' wedding. The bride is Vietnamese and they're planning on having a more traditional ceremony and a huge reception. We have to have measurements taken so their outfits can be made in Vietnam when the couple visit family soon - DD is going to look so so cute. I'm so happy for the couple and cannot wait for their wedding.
I want to take an all inclusive vacation to anywhere tropical (costa rica or the DR probably) once #2 weans. We were planning to go to Peru to see Machu Picchu before deciding to TTC instead so that will be our next big trip. No kids though since altitude sickness could make it extra hard. I would like to travel internationally with them soon - maybe Italy or another more "baby friendly" place.

Weeks pregnant: 10w2d
Baby is the size of a: Kumquat
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: 4TM
Team: PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Appointments: I have one on Friday - ultrasounds, and then regular OB with the Panorama draw
Symptoms: Still feeling sick, tired, sore boobs, just feel like poo basically.
Milestones: I've surpassed all loss milestones. I swear I feel baby pops here and there, too.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Not really a rant/rave/vent, but I need help telling DH and the kids that it's a girl. I AM NOT CREATIVE. Who wants to help me??
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? -- I really want to visit Paris in the fall. I went when I was in high school in the early Spring, but that was over 20 years ago.
I am actually headed to Tulsa in October for Leaders Conference for my LipSense Biz, and then turn around and head to Pensacola, FL for 'real' work for a week in October as well.
AND we are supposed to go to Costa Rica in January for a trip I earned (all inclusive and paid for) but I'm not 100% sure bc of Zika.

Weeks pregnant: 17+5
Baby is the size of a: chipmunk
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM
Team: just officially joined team finding out!
Appointments: anatomy scan on 10/13
Symptoms: peeing all. the. time. and heartburn.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Why do so many maternity pants come in s/m/l/xl sizing? I'm having the hardest time finding pants that fit. Mostly I'm talking about Motherhood because that's the one place I can actually go and try things on. I'm getting sick of ordering online and returning, but most of those stores do have regular number sizing.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? H and I would love to go to Hawaii. We have friends moving there next month so I'm hoping we can plan to visit them in the next few years. I could for sure do another Caribbean all-inclusive, but zika. Since I have to use up some PTO by the end of the year, we're planning a trip in November, possibly Boston or Denver.

Rama thanks! This is my last baby and I just don't want to stress about things like with my previous full term pregnancies. There were times in the past I left OB appointments in tears and dreaded getting at the scale at their office. I know my weight gain with my previous kids is above the recommended amount, but I don't want to worry about it this time.

mattsgirl2004 i thought gaining up to 5 lbs was the norm for first tri🤷🏼♀️. my ob actually suggested i drink ensure to help with weight gain, which i don't get. that seems crazy to me that an ob would even comment on that. i wouldn't think twice about saying something next time. mrsmonogrammed what a sweet pic! smilesp we just redid our only bathroom and between moving and first tri and renovations i was just over it. i feel ya.

Weeks pregnant: 16 weeks
Baby is the size of a: avocado
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: blue
Appointments: Friday
Symptoms: I've had a terrible week. Been throwing up and super exhausted. I'm still weaning off meds and it's made me incredibly sick. Hoping to be done soon. Otherwise just a ton of bloat and my boobs are killing me all the time.
Milestones: telling people at work? I told my last supervisor last week, glad to be done with that.
Rants/Raves/Vents: not this week other than I want work to die down. I am so busy I have zero time for anything else. It's...not fun.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips?
I want to go to Bora Bora so much!!! We wanted to do our honeymoon there but it didn't work out. Maybe for our 10 year anniversary?
I've been trying to plan a trip in the next month but work is not cooperating. Every time I pick a week, something comes up. I'm super annoyed. I think I need to just plan it and they can figure out how to deal without me!

Weeks pregnant: 15 tomorrow
Baby is the size of a: canary
FTM/STM/TTM: STM
Team: green
Appointments: midwife at 18 weeks but I can't remember the date. Anatomy scan on October 27th.
Symptoms: pretty sure I'm starting to feel a bit of movement here and there.
Rants/raves/vents: my mom is pushing me to tell my younger brother. We don't talk much and he lives in another province. When we told him we were expecting our son he was kind of an asshole (true to character) so I'm just trying to protect my feelings.
GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit. AND any upcoming trips?
I want to get back to Europe in the not too distant future. I'd really love to visit Slovenia and Croatia.
I think we'll be sticking close to home until after this baby is born.

The main thing is I get nauseas if I don't eat every two hours which is annoying. Milestones: second trimester!! Rants/Raves/Vents: I'm in Barcelona and there is wine everywhere and it's making me want it so much. GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? We were in Morocco last week and in Barcelona until Saturday. It's been such a great trip. I really want to go to Hawaii or some place tropical next. Weeks pregnant: 13w6d Baby is the size of a: matchbox car, clownfish ( Rama where did you find a list that has an arc reactor? I need it 😂) FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM (4th preg) Team: Finding out Appointments: mid-October Symptoms: definitely subsiding. Mild nausea and fatigue. I did have the worst, most vivid nightmare last night. I hate pregnancy-induced vivid dreams Milestones: basically 2nd tri, right? Rants/Raves/Vents: We've been talking about "when's" and not "if's" and genuinely feeling more relaxed about this pregnancy. It's a wonderful feeling. GTKY: Where is one place you're dying to visit? AND any upcoming trips? I'm a stereotype, but I'm dying to visit New Zealand and pretend like I'm in Middle Earth. No upcoming trips per se, but we're already planning a kid-free date day to Disneyland when my mom is in town next month. It's not the best pic because I was in a rush, but this is from when I hit 13 weeks last Thursday.
