momololo I think yes start now. I think if you use the regression not to start it's just an excuse. Almost like, i'll start my diet after the birthday party... My theory, no time like today to start! Good luck - remember it's harder on you than her. You can do this!! Think of all that sleep you are going to get!

@shakeitofffgirl Even though I got decent sleep last night, I don't feel like. Just exhausted and working, haha.

I joined a neighborhood mom group on Facebook when we moved here. It's pretty slow with the occasional request for recommendations etc. Last night someone posted saying they weren't a mom but joined to ask for help for a coworker. She just moved from MN earlier this year and got pregnant. The dude is not involved and now she has a newborn and no local support network. The request is for meals. jedi, any ideas of something Minnesotan to make her? My initial thought was hot dish but I have never actually made hot dish.... I mean I've made casseroles and I'm sure I can do it. Just wondering if you (or anyone else) has any better ideas.

I took anti anxiety meds this morning to help me deal with my boss.
That's totally normal, right?
Upside: I give zero fucks and am so cheerful.

Hellooooo!
Jake is sick. Ugh. I got a call from DC yesterday that he had 103.9 fever. 😱 We couldn't get him to take Tylenol. He spit it out 4+ times. We finally held him down and forced about half a dose down. It was awful. Lots of screaming and tears. He slept in our bed. I use sleep loosely. He was belting out twinkle twinkle at 3am and telling me not to touch the buggies and talking about his toes. His fever seems to go up and down on its own so I think he's just fighting something. He's currently in bed with Wife watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and I'm at work. Jealous. That child is obsessed w Halloween.
In new baby news! I'm 24 weeks today. This child is kicking like a pro soccer player. He was moving a phone playing music on my belly. I can't remember how early I could SEE Jake moving but I think it was later than this.
Also! Exciting news! Work extended its maternity leave! I'll now get 16 weeks!!! I got 8 with Jake! Spouses get 8 and used to get 2 so this is huge! Yay!

Paging mrspiatt! Check in please. Are you in the middle of your move? How are you doing? How's worm? You are missed. SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM Hi, I miss you guys! I've been trying to keep up here during the move. I've been posting on FB a little because I'm selling stuff in bst groups, so it's a little easier. Worm is goodish. Between the pipe break last month, DD1 moving out and us moving, she adapting the best she can. She's been so bratty and moody, I feel awful that there's so much change at once. I know some of it is the age, but she did a 180 in her personality within a few days. The move is killer! Almost done! I have the VVA (Vietnam Vets Association) coming to pick up donation items tomorrow. There are a few things we haven't sold that we'll need to move to the new place and keep in the garage. between the garage sale, estate sale and FB, we've sold about $2,500... I'm ready for Saturday to be done so I can start unpacking at the new place. There was a screw up with uhaul on moving day so our 20' truck, ended up being 15'... so I'm driving back and forth over an hour each way moving stuff in the van. I'm 8 freaking months pregnant so it's a bunch of individual items. H is meeting me at the old place tonight so we can start moving over the furniture we didn't sell. I hurt my foot... I'm 99% sure I have a collapsed arch. From all my google searches, not much they can do since I'm pregnant, but I'll likely go to the doc next week. Since we moved so far I changed docs so I can have a new OB and the change is 10/1... so I might as well see a podiatrist I can continue seeing and not just a one time person. SHORT VERSION- Worm is good, cranky, but good. Moving sucks, but we're almost done The arch in my foot collapsed and no doc until next week- any advice on how to deal with the pain? I can't take muscle relaxers because I'm pregnant.

Oh and our FL trip that was supposed to be next week was changed to Dallas the following week. All the side eye to H's work... not exactly the relaxing beach trip I wanted. I'm hoping the time away will help Worm, she always loves to travel so *fingers crossed* that hasn't changed. The last big trip was in January.

momololo I'm so sorry about the sleep hell. It's the worst. The website preciouslittlesleep.com was so helpful to me with sleep training. It helped me understand the rationale for it really well and that helped me get through the worst parts. Starting around 4 months is about the earliest sleep training is recommended. Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? While it's important to establish good sleep habits when kids are young, but there's nothing you're going to do right now that will break your child or make her a bad sleeper forever. Right now you do whatever you need to in order to get through, whether that means sleep training, not sleep training, cosleeping, not sleeping, whatever... My pediatrician told me it's really important to sleep train before kids can stand up in their cribs (he recommended not waiting past 6-7 months). We sleep trained the twins at 4 months and my Aug 15 at 6-7 months. All 3 kids are now great sleepers despite 2 of the 3 being really terrible sleepers as infants. Hang in there. You will get through this and you will sleep again!

I'm drowning in life over here but it's generally good things. Just too much going on all at the same time and I'm behind on everything. Heading to Target and then toddler gymnastics this morning.

Thanks aydee! I'll read up on the website. I'm breastfeeding and she is just over 4 months now so I should start soon before I miss our window! I keep reminding myself that the sleep deprivation is temporary but it's hard to remember in the moment.

mrspiatt a collapsed arch sounds terrible! You're doing so much for 8 months pregnant! I'm glad your move is almost done. And hopefully Dallas will be just what you need even if it's not the vacation you wanted.

I have many ideas for hot dishes - not necessarily Minnesotan - but easy to reheat with a newborn on your hands. 1. Frozen lasagna with crusty bread 2. Chili and bag of cheese, crusty bread or bag of salad 3. Crock pot santa fe chicken (chicken, taco seasoning, corn, black beans and salsa) bag of cheese and some tortillas 4. Black beans, rice and chicken crockpot meal - side salad. 5. Swiss chicken casserole, veggies and salad.

momololo, C is in gymnastics - when we pull into the parking lot he starts screaming with excitement and kicks his little legs and claps and in between the screams he says nmastics.... he loves it. It is a parent and tot class so I participate too. I think it's great for him. Would highly recommend.

librarylady, I'm sorry. Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but what more will you have to do until the baby arrives? Just NST's and more appointments? This makes you really itchy, right? Is there any relief they can provide for you?

Iep meeting was.... ok. I mean I didn't learn anything new but they are going to try to implement some OT weekly. This is new. They are only doing 30 min weekly. I wanted 60. We were the only ones on time (except for S1 teacher) and two people didn't even show up. One left early. The most important people were there though. I'm taking deep breaths and saying 30 min is better than none.

Is there any relief they can provide for you? I'll have to have nsts and then they need to take her out early at 36 or 37 weeks, which is next week or the week after. I'll find out later today when it will be. Yeah it makes me itchy but they did give me some drugs for the itch today, so hopefully that gets better.

momololo I think as long as the baby get out in time (before 37 weeks) there aren't too many risks to her. And she did great on the nst, so I'm happy about that.

Havent been around much, but still trying to keep up! DH and I have been bickering soooo much lately and things sort of came to blows last night. I feel like he's been super distant and he said he's been pulling back because I've thrown myself into the kids and (in his words) I'm all used up by the end of the day. We've definitely had our marriage on autopilot the past few months (like we sit on the couch with the TV on, both of us on our phones...stupid stuff like that, you know?), so last night's conversation NEEDED to happen, even though it sucked. We decided on a few changes to make to help us be more present and I feel better today...but also a bit drained. I'm going to delete FB from my phone, it's such a timesuck. And we're going to work on spending more quality time together. We used to have at home date nights when we broke students and we'd cook a nice dinner together and have a movie night...or play board games. We're going to bring that back, and I'm excited Anyways, kudos for making it to the end, thanks for hearing me vent a little!

librarylady, I am so glad they caught it. I know 2 people IRL who had that and early diagnosis is the biggest thing. jess213 I'm glad you have a plan moving forward, it's so easy to get into that mode. It is also so so draining thought to have those conversations.
