I'm getting my hair done after work today. My usual stylist is only back on Saturdays right now (after maternity leave) and her next opening isn't for another 2.5 weeks which is after our pictures. So I'm seeing the same guy that did my hair last time. Looks like I'll be spending $$$ today. I'm getting it cut this time and trying to decide if I want to do something more drastic than usual but I don't know what.

W's buddy, his mom, and younger brother (2yo) came over this morning for a few hours. It took the younger brother about 10 minutes to break something. Otherwise, it was good. The last time we got together at someone's house was when the twins were just starting to crawl and were mostly potato-ing around the floor. This time they were all over the place so it was a little more to manage. But, the kids all had fun. Twins are now napping while I try to do a little work. Thursday we are going to have a picnic together at a nature preserve, which should be fun!

Tech related on a positive note, the thumbs up/ LT is now a dark purple on my screen so I can actually see if I already LT'd something. Before, it was light purple and hard to see in some lighting. It's the little things...

So we took a little field trip to the ER this morning. Don't worry, everyone is fine.
E managed to break through my stair barrier while I was upstairs in the bathroom yesterday and then fell down a few (maybe 3 or 4) and landed (thankfully), on a suitcase. She was a little upset for a while, but not inconsolable. But she started limiting her crawling and avoiding weight bearing too much on her right side of her body. This continued this morning, so I was imagining fractures and surgeries and casts. So I brought her in. Doctor did some manual tests which elicited no pain so he suspected sprain or strain. He said we could do X-rays if I wanted, or we could wait a few days and see if crawling returned to normal. I opted for the latter. So like I said, no worse for the wear and I feel better now that someone else saw her.
H is out of town, of course, so I preferred to wait until today when O was in daycare. We were in and out in 45 minutes. This is one the biggest childrens hospitals in canada. I was thrilled.
So for anyone that has a choice, the doctor said their ER is quietest on weekdays between 7-11am when regular doctor offices are open.

PW here... We got the convertible car seat in the mail and I assembled the extra pieces and adjusted the straps to fit but can't bring myself to install it in the car. I still have an infant GDI!

Refused comfort nursing for naps today. Morning only lasted 10 minutes. Whatever. She only takes a morning nap 1/3 of the time anyway. Afternoon nap she started off a bit wild and she wanted to play but I kept repeating quietly that it was sleep time and she fell asleep after 25 minutes. Which is nothing in terms of a Mia sleep battle. She then slept for an hour and a half.
On her own. Without me touching her. This hasn't happened in months. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Now to continue and to figure out how to attack the MOTN when my resolve is at its lowest.

kleigh wondering how you are doing since last week? I have been thinking about doing another mental wellness check in on the private board. Anyone else up for one?

So apparently my raise is not happening. The manager was really upset and I know she fought for me. Of course she tells me right after I tell my manager I'm leaving! Ugh! I told her I still wanted to move forward even as a lateral move. But now I'm bummed.
On another note, we are thinking of listing our house and putting an offer on another one! H needs a home office and if we want another baby (which we do eventually) we don't have room. I'm very early in the process but I didn't realize how much more complicated it was buying a house when you need to sell yours too.

Damn cookswithwine. That totally sucks! Hopefully you'll be up for a raise soon, before a theoretical second child!

That sucks cookswithwine! I don't know how that's ok to back out after they said you'd get one. That would be extremely upsetting.

kleigh wondering how you are doing since last week? I have been thinking about doing another mental wellness check in on the private board. Anyone else up for one? Physically better, I had been feeling like I had been on a roller coaster (kind of nauseous and fuzzy). Emotionally not the best. I shared on SC... we attempted to proceed with our Friday overnight trip to Boston after getting a rental car (Hs car is not suitable for anything longer than 5min drive). We got about 35-40 minutes from the house (2.5+ hr trip) and thought it'd be a good idea to stop at a vineyard, do a tasting, maybe I'd relax a little. Well the second I got back in the car I started to get anxious and each mile just made me more and more panicked about being away from the kids so I made MH turn around and go home about another 10 minutes in. I'm disappointed with myself for that. This would be our 3rd overnight without the babies. The first two weren't "EASY" but I was able to do it bc I knew our marriage needed just as much love and attention as our kids do. I just could not do it, I was so panicky between being on the highway and being away from the babies. As far as driving, I've gotten behind the wheel - to the store. I will not go on the highway. ETA thank you for checking on me. ETA + clarification

I'm in bed watching Lilah babble and roll around on the monitor. Not asleep, but better than screaming? I'm hoping for another miracle and she'll sleep 8hrs straight again tonight (usually it's 3-4). hangry That's super scary! Glad she is ok. And I hear you on the convertible. Lilah is getting one from my dad soon for her 1st bday, but I will have a hard time switching her. sophiegrace Awesome sleeping news! Baby steps. With Lillian, motn resolved on its own. Hopefully that will be what M does. starbuck I'd definitely do a check-in for mental wellness assuming I can figure out how to fit in the time. Ugh cookswithwine. I'm so sorry. That sucks. kleigh I saw your post on FB about the carseats, but I'm not on SC. I've never been away from both kids. We are supposed to do a trip for FIL's bday and I told dh the girls have to come because I don't think I'll be able to go without them. It also is making me stressed about our anniversary trip. And that's without anything happening to add to my anxiety. I'm sorry you're having a tough time emotionally.

@keigh hugs. Be gentle with yourself. It might take awhile for you to feel comfortable again and that's ok. I'm glad that you're fine physically and hope that emotionally it all comes together. I shake my fist at that dumb driver!
