Freezer cooking has begun: 1 loaf of banana bread, 6 loaves of zucchini bread, 1 batch of soup, and 40 cereal bars. Next weekend is all about meat (meatballs, meatloaf, stuffed pepper soup). Amazing! Gold star!

I've been sifting through this website: newleafwellness.biz/She has e-books for sale but also posts many of the recipes for free. They look fairly easy to put together and are mostly healthy too. I haven't tried any though, so I can't say for sure if they taste good. I made a batch of blueberry protein pancakes and breakfast burritos for the freezer over the weekend. I'll probably make more of those + freezable breakfast sandwiches for when the baby comes. Otherwise I plan on stocking up on some of the refrigerated soups from Costco for quick yummy meals closer to November. I love soup but hate making it from scratch. After the baby comes we'll splurge on pre-cut fruit and bagged salad- expensive but worth it to eat somewhat healthy in the first few crazy weeks. I'll also make oatmeal choc chip lactation cookies for the freezer closer to my due date. This is my favorite recipe - www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/oatmeal-chocolate-chip-lactation-cookies-by-noel-trujillo-192346?photo=372985I made meals from that site for my second kid. Worked out well but you need to play your freezer space. I ran out of room. I didn't like chicken in the slow cooker so I used the pressure cooker.

I was planning on making some freezer meals this month, but decided to not worry about it. I have four in the freezer already from my mom and I made my monthly meal plan and about to get a Costco haul. I think we should be OK. My goal this month is just not to do takeout an outrageous amount like we did with DD1.

Bumping this because I’m prepping some food kind of last minute (will be admitted for induction in a week!)
I’m planning to freeze six meals: Meatballs and sauce Turkey Meatloaf Beef stew Chili Chicken fajitas Portuguese kale soup
I’m hoping that’ll be enough to get us through about the first week at home without a million trips to the store or having to spend too much time cooking.

I'm glad you bumped this bethkate, I was just about to meal plan/grocery shop prep and was thinking I will make a couple freezer meals! I am going to make a pumpkin turkey chili (I have an open can of pumpkin puree), and a double batch of lasagna so I can freeze some. I need to investigate recipes, though!

Yeah we spent a lot too all for food we can't eat yet! But it'll balance out in the end.
I ended up making filipino stew x2, chicken curry and chicken tortilla soup, all to go in the crockpot. Also a dozen pumpkin oatmeal muffins and a dozen cranberry, blueberry bran muffins.
Had anyone ever done up smoothie bags for the freezer? Would it make it any faster?

blabbermouth, I’ve never done full smoothie bags for the freezer, but I freeze bananas or strawberries and spinach in individual bags and then I add it to yogurt and milk in the blender.

I ended up making quite a few meals from that newleafwellness.biz website - brown sugar meatloaf, meatball soup, sweet and sour meatballs, chicken curry, honey Dijon chicken, chicken Philly cheesesteak, lasagna x 2, stuffed peppers- and 3 containers of black beans/taco meat. Oh! I also got an instant pot for $55 from kohls (+ $10 Kohls cash!) so I’m excited to start using that as well.

Started my stash! I’ll make a double batch of chicken fajitas tomorrow, and I’m thinking I might make some bacon cauliflower soup and a breakfast casserole too.
