thechickencoop, Woot! That's totally awesome that you're fitting into your prepreg jeans already! I think it was like a yr for me 😂😅 Oh yea, after DS1 I actually never got back in them lol. Just went up a size. BUT, I was only 34 weeks this time so I really didn't get to that HUUUGE end of pregnancy stage.

How far along are you? 38+4
Any concerns? How are you feeling? I actually started getting more concerned about his decreased movements this week. I called on Wednesday and they said they look for 4 movements of any type within an hour. I'm definitely feeling that.
What kind of appointment? Regular OB with cervical check
How did it go? The heart rate was in the 120s, and since it's been in the 140s/150s the nurse gave me some juice and read it again. Still 120s. She said that the rate can start to decrease toward the end, so not to worry too much. I actually do remember that well from DS.
I'm not dilated at all, boo.
Any feels/vents/etc? I don't know why, but I'm surprised that I'm not dilated.
That cervical check was really uncomfortable and leads me to think I won't be able to handle an epidural-free delivery.
Learn anything new? The fluids are still looking good and my dr is OK with me going past by a week. I wasn't sure of he would at the beginning. While I'd like to not go over, I like having a little more time to go into labor on my own rather than be induced (really I'm trying to avoid the pitocin)
Next appointment: Next Thursday the 5th

I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 37+6
Any concerns? How are you feeling? No concerns, feeling good physically. Mentally is the issue, I'm running out of time and baby is in no hurry.
What kind of appointment? Regular old OB
How did it go? Fast. Nothing really of note, pretty slam bam thank you ma'am and we were on our way. H did get to come, which was nice.
Any feels/vents/etc? Same old. Last night I was up at 4 worrying about how I'm going to get home from the hospital.
Learn anything new? GBS negative, so that's nice.
.5 cm dilated (...yaay) and I had grand plans of asking for a sweep today, but troll cervix said not even possible.
OB did say I could go into labor anytime, but Ev is still too high to give a station number so it won't be a sudden thing I'm sure.
Next appointment: Next Friday. My last before H leaves again for the month.

Sorry you guys I've been away for a few while and I'm way behind! Hugs to everyone who needs them.
I am a new mom check-in:
How many weeks PP/How old is baby? 2 days
How are you feeling? Any concerns? Phew. A lot has happened but overall we are so thrilled with our little princess. Will post pics and her name later! She is a dream.
How is baby in general doing? She's so great. She screams bloody murder when her diaper is changed but other than she's pretty calm and easy going.
How is baby eating & sleeping? She is eating great! The sleeping part, not so much haha! That will be a while.
BF or FF? How is that going? BF and it's going a million times better than I had ever hoped. We had to use a nipple shield for a day and a half but today she decided she didn't want that anymore and she's latching fine without it. My nips are sore but I guess that comes with the territory!
Milestones? Both baby and mom. We came home from the hospital today, yay! First pediatrician appt for DD on Monday. :-)

cythe, I am like worried for you, I think we did discuss this with you but maybe think about possibly getting a PP doula ( I think is what you call them here ) even for only the first 2 days whilst waiting for your mom to come? I think it will be worth money spent to give you and your H peace of mind. Do you know you neighbors well enough to ask for help? What about your buddy that you were helping with apartment renovations? Could she/he at least help you out. I am just worried about you getting overwhelmed. We're also here so if you need anything, anytime of the day...we're here. Big big hugs

cythe , so not to like get on your case or step on your toes or anything but I was curious about what you'd call postpartum nurses or w/e here and I googled and came across this. wholisticbeginnings.com/blog/2014/9/14/insurance-paying-for-a-doulaMaybe you already know that depending on what insurance you have and their policy, part of the PP doula services could potentially be covered. I am ignorant and did not know this until just now. ETA. Also if you have a FSA or HSA...look into it, you could maybe pay their services with it too. worth looking into.

duskymonkey thank you and thanks for the information. I will look into a PP doula, I know when I looked into the birth doulas it was quite out of our budget - and sadly military insurance is not so hip to the doula coverage. The good news isn my mom will be down here for 10 days and has worked it out to where she can just come down when I call to say I'm in labor - as opposed to having set days. I can't imagine how much she's spending on a last minute plane ticket lol.
