Just want to send a good luck shout out to seventythree! Hope everything goes well for you today and I will be eagerly checking for updates! The week started out okay over here. DS caught a cold and lost his voice, so we kept him home from school. He was acting totally normal though - really happy and running around. Just a little cough and rough voice. Weird. I have been dousing myself in hand sanitizer and wearing a face mask so I don't catch it. Even if it's not that bad of a virus, no thanks to catching a new cold right at the end of my pregnancy. Otherwise, I felt a really strong desire to eat a salad today...which is weird because I haven't craved salad at all this pregnancy. Had a tasty chicken, almond, beet, and greens salad for dinner with raspberry vinaigrette. It hit the spot!

seventythree Good luck today! Taitai Salad cravings here too, I think I've been overindulging in the bad stuff. The chicken Caesar salad was so good. DD's fever went away but she is clingy and whiny. I had to make a quick decision when she woke up if I was going to send her to daycare or not, and cancel all my appointments for the day. When I called DC the teacher was not surprised, apparently something is going around her class. Hopefully some food and a good nap will get her back to normal since the fever is gone. I was looking forward to seeing #2 at my ultrasound this morning but I will have to wait until tomorrow

Dentist for me and ds1. I ordered groceries rather than going shopping myself...and have already called because I forgot more oatmeal and just realized I forgot creamer....it's gonna have to wait. I'm not calling them back AGAIN. I have had a killer headache since yesterday. Tylenol didn't work. Ibuprofen didn't work, in fact it got even worse. I've taken 2 of my prescription pills and it has only lessened a little. Still quite bad. I'm pretty much over it. I remember this happening with ds1, but I was under more stress and not sleeping with him. I'm not sure if it is just life or pree or whatever. Since it happened with him too, I'm wondering if it is pp hormones or something. I don't know. With ds1, I ended up taking a couple tramadol and sleeping and sleeping some more. But I have already been sleeping. Yeah it is broken sleep, but I don't feel tired or anything like that.

My travel plans got cancelled this week because my Dad's health took a turn. They're thinking it's just days but who knows. He's in palliative care, so many unknowns. I hate that I can't be there but there's just no way at this point. So my dad and daughter may be passing on their way in and out of this world. Other than that, the mild panic at all the remaining preparations needed continues today and tomorrow. Being at home definitely helps with that. Baby will be here Wednesday OMG.

Thinking of you seventythree !!! Oh bootsorhearts1, I'm so very sorry. Sending you so many hugs. I'm working from home today and am struggling to finish this project I need to get done before maternity leave. I need to actually go into the office tomorrow and I'm really dreading that, it is so much more comfortable to work from home at this point. In the night I woke up a couple times and had this weird side stitch type of pain but it was super low. I'm guessing RLP. Lots of pressure, cramping, and BH continue. DH is getting so anxious and he has to have a lot of contingency plans in place for school and football, so I get it.

I found out today that we're switching the way we develop and my other "role"/set of tasks won't be needed. I was so happy to hear that this morning. It was so hard to keep up with that and my real day-to-day job. I also joked that we hadn't figured out who will take over those tasks while I'm gone, so we'll just do away with it altogether.

Thanks, friends! We don't go in until tonight, so I've still got allllll day to wait. Promise I'll start a thread when it's time! No big plans for today, just hanging out with DD and taking it easy. Probably one last afternoon nap...living large over here.

seventythree good luck!! A very sleepy Monday over here. Was plagued with contractions until 9ish last night and DS slept like shit, which of course means I did too. And MH was on my shit list yesterday afternoon. I need one more day but to myself. Good news is that I got all baby prep stuff done this weekend except car seat in the car. Will do that this coming weekend than we are good to go!

This is my last week of work before mat leave! Finally.
I went to bed last night around 10PM. After two hours of tossing and turning I finally took a Unisom at midnight. This pregsomnia is something awful.

chitownsully, I am having bad sleep issues too. I have tendency to wake up at 2am or 4am and not be able to get back to sleep so I get for 1-2 hours then I get tired and go back to sleep. Maybe my body is preparing me for broken sleep later on.

Well, it's Monday - that's about all I can say about today.
I have to swing by the post office today since my local post office isn't open on Saturdays? Like, what? It's Saturday... Oh well, I couldn't make them be open as much as I tried as I hauled my giant box all the way to their locked door two days ago.
It's overcast and a bit gloomy today, which I'm good with. Bring on fall and cooler weather!

I'm so sorry bootsorhearts1, big hugs to you. I know how that palliative care dance goes, it's kinda like waiting on a baby, could be days or weeks but nobody can tell you for sure until things really start happening. So emotionally draining. And of course the timing is especially bittersweet...ok everything I type now sounds trite, just know that I'm sending love.

Taitai I totally craved salads for the first half of this pregnancy! It's still hot and gross here, so that actually sounds really good for lunch...hmmm. Last night I brought out the last few bits of baby gear (been doing it slowly to get DD and my very neophobic dog to get used to it), and this morning DD has discovered the baby bath tub. She dragged it to the middle of the living room and is now trying to convince the 70lb dog to "take a bath" 😂😂

I feel like I've been moving nonstop lately. Saturday and Sunday were both very productive days; base and car seat are installed, pump and pieces/bottles are washed, closet in nursery is (slightly) more organized, closet in our room is fully reorganized, and I finally went through my clothes/shoes to purge/switch seasons. I feel a little better after checking more things off the to-do list, but yet I'm still thinking up more stuff to do. The ILs are visiting tonight and bringing pizza for supper. I'm pretty excited because 1) I love my ILs, and 2) I don't have to make supper. Woohoo!

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers for my Dad. No real update today, same status as yesterday. They are sending hospice care workers to be with him when my Mom can't be so he's never alone.
I got my GBS results back, negative. FWIW. Which is not much. Just that if my water breaks between now and Wednesday morning, I wouldn't need antibiotics before my C-section.

bootsorhearts1 I'm so sorry. Such a tough position for you to be in. Took DS to the ped today. His right eye was weepy and crusty all weekend, sobthey wanted to look at it. Of course it was clear by this afternoon. Basically a blocked tear duct. Nothing to be alarmed about.

LO had her two week check today and all went well. She gained one lb in ten days and is almost a lb up from her birth weight. I knew all the thigh rolls had to be a good sign. This baby is thriving and chunking up!
*TW* *scary incident with newborn* we had a very scary incident over the weekend. I won't scare anyone with the details but all is fine. Bring the blue bulb thing home from the hospital, even if you plan on using the snot sucker.

I'm so sorry, bootsorhearts1 <3 chitownsully reminded me that I'm able to look at my test results online - negative for me too woo! I didn't have it with my first so I was able to do most of my laboring at home, which was nice. I'd like to do the same this time around if possible (while being aware that things might progress faster this time around). We are only 5 mins from the hospital. I found out today that three coworkers from another team are being furloughed for the next 2 months. One of those three was supposed to be my backup while I'm on maternity leave. Now I need to train someone else asap before I go out. It really sucks for the furloughed people and their teammates who need to make up for the work they won't be doing. On a lighter note, I'm making the crockpot BBQ chicken that someone here recommended in the meal plans thread. Smells tasty!
