The cleaning woman is here for the morning, and I feel so awkward! I've never done this before. The dog and I are hanging out in my room while she works, but my fierce 12 pound chiweenie just wants to go protect her house. Been there! With DS1, I tried to stay while she cleaned, but felt so uncomfortable that I wasn't helping her that I started planning outings. I became a "mall walker" (since it was winter). I'm going to have the same issues now that I'm working from home, so I'm planning on working from Starbucks until she is gone. She is the nicest woman, but I just feel too guilty (and in the way) to stay. We're using a service this time but have an individual booked after this one. She used to work for my grandmother, so I think I'll feel more comfortable once she starts! Starbucks does sound good...

Return having had something yummy to a clean house 😀

There are three of them and the owner always chats me up when I'm there - I feel like she is putting more work on the others as she chats me up so I always try to get out of the way too

Just got back from my appointment! Baby is head down and I start weekly appointments now (holy crap, I'm really that pregnant). Doc showed me a mini preview on the little handheld ultrasound and I spotted some hair too. This baby BETTER have hair after all this GD heartburn. Strep B test next week. Also, they will let me go until 41 weeks and schedule an induction between 41-42 weeks if this kid has not made an entrance yet (unlikely, but I wanted to ask).
DH got all the baby stuff down from the attic and I discovered that we still have the exersaucer thingy from DS so we don't need to purchase one. Woo hoo! We had borrowed it from someone and I guess they didn't want it back? IDK. I also saved all unused/unopened postpartum supplies from the hospital ... so I have several pairs of mesh undies, pads, ice pack pads, etc. Being a pack rat has paid off lol.

Alright I need some suggestions!
The friend doing our maternity/family photos is giving us the session as a gift for #2. She is ALSO pregnant with her second due a couple days before me. I'd like to repay her in some way. She did our wedding photos and a newborn/family photo shoot when DS was a couple weeks old. I have her photos printed out/put on canvas all over my house lol. Any suggestions?

After weeks, of little to no weight gain, my scale claimed I gained 3lbs in the last week this morning. I'm calling suspicious. Will be rechecking tomorrow.

Speaking of baby hair ( grumpycat reminded me) At the u/s yesterday the lady was doing the skull measurements and said she could see some hair fluffed out. I don't mind hairy babies but please don't come out with a full flop of hair! So interested to see if she's a red head. DS is a red head, from H's side. (Even though he has black hair) No red heads at all on my side (apart from a very distant aunt as my nan was telling me when he was born) so I was very shocked to see this little baby with ginger hair lol. It's a beautiful strawberry blonde colour now and we are always getting comments on it. I think red hair suits girls so much more than boys so I really don't mind if I have another red head

grumpycat, I agree with the food suggestion, either some meals or gift cards. Or maybe a mani/pedi certificate?

And it just hit me. I need to seriously prepare myself for that first moment I see DS3 after D?4 arrives. For those BTDT mommas, you know that moment where your baby instantly feels older? You get that first hug or kiss their head after being around newborn squishy for hours. Everything is instantly real and different in that moment. I'm not ready.
And 2nd timers, get ready, because it will hit you like a ton of bricks.

AnnPerkins, gotta poop? It feels like baby is starting to run out of room! Fewer jabs, more rolling movements, and she really likes to push her butt out behind my belly button. My friend at my baby shower this weekend is ten days behind me and I look HUGE compared to her. But I guess she just keeps pushing her butt out. I was thinking maybe that's why I've been feeling pretty good as far as eating/heatburn/BMs are going, she's not pushing my organs around too much (yet) she's just pushing out?

For me the feels will be DD1 becoming the middle child instead of the baby (even though she will still be a baby at 13.5 months). Since we weren't expecting another baby so soon, I'm trying to cherish her being the youngest while she still is.

My body rejected my idea of a nap by giving me wicked heartburn after only laying down for an hour. It takes me that long to even fall asleep. The one day my daughter actually naps.
Now trying to decide what to make for supper.

The thought of this like ... breaks my heart and is why I pushed off a second baby/wanted to push it off even longer until oops! I was pregnant. I know that the love you feel grows rather than is spread thinner, but DS is and always will be my baby. My mom still refers to me as her baby so I know that feeling doesn't go away. I know it will all be ok and ds will be fine. And baby will be loved just as much (more probably by my in laws if baby is a girl lol -- they have 3 boys, they are dying for this baby to be a girl). But I need to start working through my feelings on this lol.

I downloaded a thermostat app on my phone. It claims my room is 88F at 6:50am. It's likely not super accurate, but honestly, I'm sure it's not too far off. My room already feels like death. Two more days of this weather. I think I can, I think I can. The app is likely just using location services to determine temperature outside. Few smartphones have temperature sensors any more, from what I've read. That said, I sympathize. I brought my hygrometer to work today and it was 27 C with 75% humidity at 7 AM before any kids came in. It got to 29 C and 88% humidity before I stopped looking at it because it was making me depressed. Two of my students went home with heat stroke symptoms. The rest were cranky AF and would not stop crying. Upstairs, my other classroom was 32-34 C (89-92) all day. Our AC is broken but our windows don't open so it was fucking miserable. After two days of 40 C weather (over 100) outside and this lack of AC, I have a REALLY nasty rash where my bra sits. It looks terrible. It doesn't hurt yet, but since I can't go to work without a bra on, it's only going to get worse tomorrow...

Oh I'm well aware it's not super accurate because smartphones lack the technology for this. I picked one based on comments of people who cross compared to a real thermometer. Given today's high was 90 and I get afternoon. Sun through a wall of windows that act like a green house, I'm guessing it wasn't for off. I was just pouring sweat. Completely disgusting.
