It's my first day off, and I could definitely get used to this. Got the kids up, fed, dressed, brushed, and sent them off to school with DH. That's been his job for years since I get to work at 7, so I'm sure he's appreciating the help. Now it's just the dog and me spending the day at home. Maybe I'll fold some laundry...

My 8:00 appointment was over by 8:01 because I showed up early and they had no-shows for their 7:45 slots, so now I'm at Starbucks for the second time today trying to kill time. I can't go to work early or everyone will give me side eye for booking a supply teacher for the whole morning.
I'm in this work thing for the long haul now for sure. Next appointment isn't until October 13 due to Thanksgiving closing the office on the Monday and scheduled C/S for my OB all week. I'll be 37 weeks the next day. So crazy!

I have been incredibly MIA due to work and also some anxiety I didn't want to bring here about how convinced I was something was wrong with this kid. Everything is fine and my OB was very kind in telling me how not worried he is. Basically I haven't gained weight in two months (I've lost 5 lbs) and I'm back to measuring behind, but only by a week and baby is low so my OB essentially shrugged and said everything seems fine. He was super extra cautious with my pregnancy last time and very cautious with this one until everything stayed normal, so for him to be very laissez-faire with this makes me feel like I am being completely ridiculous because obviously it's all good. So. I'm telling my husband to tell me to calm the fuck down when I get weird about things for the next three weeks. Also, Canada's weather is drunk. Today is the same as Tuesday. They've already turned the AC off at work.

misskilljoy, pregnancy is such a mind fuck even when things seem perfectly normal! I'm glad your OB is cautious but not concerned. We'll be here to talk you down, too.

I have a history of loss (ages ago though) and my weird experience last time just leaves me feeling very #new, haha. I'll be sure to post my irrational fears here and you can all roll your eyes at me and tell me to CTFD.

misskilljoy you must be close to me cause that's our exact forcast as well! The leaves are falling off the trees and you can get a sunburn. It's ridiculous. Plus, I'll probably end up sick after the cold front comes in. Happy everything is ok with lo!

Ds1 forgot his game socks this morning. And ds2 forgot his computer. So now I get to run to the school and drop everything off. I swear I should just staple notes to their heads lol

Hi ladies! Everything has remained the same from the weekend so I am sitting here at work. I called the OB's office this morning and just spoke with the triage nurse. After reviewing my chart and the notes from l&d, the OB doesn't think I need to come in quite yet. I have a regular OB appointment scheduled for Monday so we have hopes that everything will be fine until then. She did say that if anything changes (brown blood turns to red, increased pain, decreased movement, etc) to call and they will fit me right in. I am going to take the afternoon off from work and relax so that should help She also said not to worry about the suspected mucous plug loss since nothing changed after that happened. I am just going to hang tight and keep an eye on things. I am finally in a good head space after being somewhat panicky all weekend. If baby wants to come, we'll get through it. My 34 weeker is now a nearly perfect 2 year old and I have no doubt this baby will be perfect too. I would love him to stay in, at this point at least two more weeks, but if he doesn't want to, so be it. I am just glad I have made it this far! Thank you so much to everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It really has helped.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck This is going to be a long post, I can feel it. Grab some popcorn and your reading glasses. So, growth scan. She's head down, spine and bum to my left and hands and feet to my right (so pleased she's head down) Cue baby foot pic - So the lady is doing all the measurements. All seems fine, she isn't concerned about anything. She proper digs into my hips to get a good skull measurement but whatever it's gone to be done. She's finishing up and goes - "Right, you've got a big baby" Yes okay "Can you go back to waiting room while we decide what to do next" Five minute wait, and she basically tells me she wants me to do another GTT because I was on the cusp last time. I went a bit bratty and said I would rather watch my blood sugars, and find out that way. My body does NOT like fasting one bit. They were annoyed with that but agreed because I also explained I have no child care for this, and I cannot drive myself (fasting = fainting/dizzy) So they said come back in an hour and a half so you can have a meeting about how to use the machine all the diet stuff blah blah. We go back and meet up with my mum who's on DS duty (she works in the hospital), she basically tells me off for not accepting the test. I grumble like a teenager. I said the only way I will do if it is literally within the next couple days and if it's first thing in the morning. She said come up with me and we will sort it (she's in her matron uniform) H is now on DS duty. Basically I've got another GTT this Wednesday morning at 8am, I've gotta leave at 7:15, and I have requested to lie down for the 2 hour wait as being in that hot stuffy room for 2 hours nearly made me faint last time. Don't even care if that makes me sound bratty to them, I have a fear of fainting now and being on my own (last time my mum was with me) scares me more. I'll be fine if I can lie down for those 2 hours. I reckon I most likely have GD. The thing is, I don't even eat a lot of sugar! So it's not like I can do much if I do have it (diet controlled) as I eat like I do bloody have it now. If I do have it, I've got a consultant meeting on Monday morning. Duno if we will discuss induction or not but the lady said it normally happens between 38/39 weeks. I'm just playing it by ear. DD is 7lb exactly. At 34 weeks. My worry is that because I've been diagnosed with it (maybe) this last, it'll take longer to get the process running for a induction. Sorry I am NOT being bloody left until 40+ weeks if she's already 7lb. DS was 6lb 9oz at 34.5 weeks and 9lb 10oz 40+2. That's like 10+lbs at 40 weeks now. I'm going to push for 38 weeks induction if it comes to that because 39 weeks is still around DS birth weight. Aaaarrrggghh I just wana fast forward 3/4 weeks. My parents are going away for 2 weeks tomorrow, my mums like my best friend. And I know DS will miss them and ask for them after a couple days, he doesn't understand what a holiday means yet. I'm hormonal, stressed out and just wana go sit on a beach. Thanks for reading through my frustration and hormonal rage

beefinch I'm sorry that sucks. GD isn't just about sugar it's about watching carbs and making sure you get enough protein in at meals and snacks. Either way I hope you get you're 38 week baby. roloma I hope the babe decides to stay put a few more weeks!

beefinch , that definitely sucks. I think(?) you had GD before so you get it but it really isn't about sugar. Sorry if I am remembering incorrectly and you didn't have it with DS. I don't eat sugars much either, but I do eat a lot of carbs, which is a bigger issue. I have had to change to whole carbs and balance in much more protein. The good news is that there are only a few weeks left if you do have to deal with it!

Nope, my first time with GD, DS was a naturally big baby. Yeah had whole diet meeting, and got told which are the better things etc. I eat a lot of pasta based meals so I've got to change that to whole meal (luckily it's shopping day on Wednesday) and add more veg. My portion sIzes are small as I literally haven't got the room! That's the literally only plus is that I get to meet her sooner if I do have it.

Sorry you're dealing with that beefinch! I guess if you do the test and you don't have GD, then you can just keep on making big babies Since we're super cool, and talking about the weather, this weekend was pretty nice here, although not THAT hot. But yesterday it was good to see the sun because we had my baby shower at my mom's and even though she has a big house, it was really nice that we could spill outside onto the big deck! There were SO many people there, but it went pretty well. It was nice that everyone was just talking and mingling and not sitting in silence staring at me opening gifts, that was exactly what I wanted. We got TONS of stuff, I don't think anyone brought just one thing. Some things from our registry (yay!), and a good variety of clothes, blankets/towels, toys, and lots of books There are some things that aren't my taste (like 3 super fuzzy lovey things) and two super fuzzy blankets, so I'll donate some of those I think. I was surprised I didn't get a single homemade thing. I got two very similar teething mommy necklace things, wish they had at least been different colours (they're grey, pink and white), but nice nevertheless. I don't think we got too many pictures, but I will post one later. And today it's raining, haha. And I got a horrible sleep last night b/c DH had a telemarketer or something call his work phone at 3am and it woke us both up and then I was stuffed up, and thirsty, and had to pee twice and baby was moving around like crazy and and and... so I was up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. I will probably go home from work early today, because I can.

I love pasta and have had a REALLY hard time with this whole GD thing because of that. I find I can have a cup of whole wheat pasta mixed with veggies, cheese, etc. and be just fine on my blood sugars. It doesn't seem like much but when you bulk it up, I can barely know the difference. Just be careful with what sauces you are using. If you can find a tomato without sugar, that would be best. Those tomato sauces are one of those damn tricky hidden sugars things. I like creamy sauces so I am kind of shit out of luck for a while. My current favorite pasta fix is a cold salad made of whole wheat rotini, black olives and mozzarella cheese topped with italian dressing. I can throw some chopped chicken or sauteed shrimp in after I measure my cup out to bulk it up.

paperbagliz yay for being off!! I will also be taking over getting DD ready and to day care/school in the mornings once I start ML. I used to do it all the time before I started working so early, and honestly I have missed it. H would still do it if asked, but I volunteered, also to keep myself on a schedule. I think I am going to send her to day care 3x/week and keep her home 2x when I start. She will still go to school for 3 hours the days she is home. We have to pay half the fee to keep her spot anyway and DCP encouraged me to send her 3x/week when I was in between my school program and my job, since I was paying anyway. It will be nice to have some quality time with her, too!

I will likely pick him up early at least one day a week to do something special with him (and baby) once I'm comfortable with being out with the two of them. When I have the baby, she will go back to full time day care 5x a week, lol. This is for before the baby is here. She has school 4 days per week, so I am going to pick 2 of the days she has school to have her at home after school. So I will still have 3 hours to myself those days. I will just have to work around my appointments!
