We had my aunts birthday party last night and everyone kept asking me how much longer til the baby's here. I said 3 weeks (it's 3 weeks and 3 days to be exact) and they tried to argue with me that it was longer or something. It was bizarre. Sorry I'm really not keeping a countdown to the day in my head. I have 3 weeks left of work so that's what going by.

I'll participate in the weird things people say about pregnancy.
I was at T-Mobile today switching our cell service. Myself, the employee and the only other couple in the store were all pregnant. Me 37 weeks, employee at 20-something and the other customer was 8 weeks.
We get to chatting, and the male customer is just so pleased with his girlfriend and keeps bragging her up. I think she was embarrassed, but he was so happy it was hard to eye roll internally at him. Some gems from him:
"She hasn't had any morning sickness!"
"She went from a 00 to a size 0!"
And my favorite
"She isn't even showing yet, she's going to be small" (again, she's 8 weeks)

Lol at that guy cythe. I cut my toe nails today. I think that's a pretty big accomplishment if I do say so myself. We'll see if I can get some polish on them. I'm not holding my breath. Also, pretty sure I lost my mucus plug today. My doula confirmed nothing is imminent, but it is a positive sign my body is gearing up. Just wish I knew how geared up my body might be getting.....

cythe, lol at not showing at 8 weeks. They are in for some fun down the road. Re: stupid pregnancy things: My mom tried to tell me that Canada had it all figured out because in Canada 37 weeks is full term. The US says full term isn't until 40 weeks which she couldn't understand because she thought most babies were born around 37 weeks. ssm thought maybe it's because she's thinking about 9 months being a pregnancy (9 months x 4 weeks = 36 weeks) vs. 40 weeks. I think she's just being argumentative. She can't understand why I'm worried about having a 37 weeker, despite the issues she knows I had with DS who was born at 36 weeks. To make matters worse, we retook our infant CPR and safety class yesterday and they stressed that 3rd hand smoke (smoke that gets in people's hair, clothes, skin, furniture, etc.) is really bad for babies and can increase the risk of SIDS as well as asthma, allergies, etc. Well my mom smokes like a chimney and wants to come down in late October to 'help'. Asking her to not smoke while she's down here is useless because she'll lie and do it while she thinks we're not watching and all her stuff will have smoke in it because she smokes in her house. We had to wash the baby things she got us twice because they smelled so bad. I kinda just don't want her to come at all. Partly because I'm in mama bear mode and partly because I think it's shitty that she won't even make any effort to wash clothes, hands, or curb her habit while she visits so why should she get to see her granddaughter? She'll just hand-wave and say me and my brother were fine and her and Dad smoked around us all the time! Sure mom, except we both have terrible allergies and my brother has asthma. So no, we're not really fine. /rant

Update: H & I both napped while DD napped and then I still went to get groceries. So I'm calling today a win.
And I'm feeling much better. Thanks for all the kind words!

Installed the car seat base tonight! Well, DH did, I held a flashlight since we did it in the garage and it was kinda dark.
Tomorrow my goal is to sterilize my breast pump and bottles and then everything is ready! I'm also getting my hair cut one last time before baby!
Tuesday DD and I have dentist appointments and that's kinda my last thing I wanted to get accomplished before baby gets here

I've been thinking about you since we have the same adjusted EDD! It will be interesting to see if baby shows up closer to that or the date you're using.

bootsorhearts1 that is so frustrating about your mom! Making no effort around the smoking thing (at least washing clothes, hands, etc) would drive me crazy. I'm sorry you have to deal with a "helper" who is more of a burden, that's the last thing anyone needs with a newborn.

seventythree yes it will be interesting! DH is getting pretty anxious so he's hoping my Dr's date is right. I don't care I just strongly prefer not to be induced if possible.

I am so full of nervous energy tonight. I know I need to get some sleep, but I'm just so keyed up about tomorrow. I'm anxious about finishing a few small house/nesting tasks, about the induction, about MIL staying over tomorrow (DD goes to bed at 8, she's never had a sleepover so might as well get in one last bedtime and a good night), about DD being with MIL for 2 days...aaaahhh. I know it will all be ok, I just stink at turning off my brain.

bootsorhearts1 37 is considered full term as opposed to premature or early but they still like to see you go close to 40 weeks since like you know you can still have complications relating to an early baby, even if you are close to full term. I'm sorry your mom is stressing you out. My MIL is coming next week as she was a heavy smoker that started vaping instead. She does it everywhere, all the time and I had previously asked her not to do it around DD, she says there's no nicotine but who knows what other chemicals are in it. I told my H I don't want her doing it in the house when she's here, he said good luck with that. 😡
