I'm going in to DS' school for a couple of hours in a bit. It's interesting how most days of work have been there. I'm wondering if it's because they are requesting me or what. I have yet to step foot into the other elementary school or the middle school. Works for me. I like seeing him. They already called me for tomorrow there, too.

I am with ya NamasteBirches! It does not feel like a Tuesday. I have been sick with a cold since Saturday night. Today the congestion seems to be a bit better but I feel utterly exhausted. I just want to go lay down and take a nap...which I may end up doing during my lunch break.

I'm volunteering in dd's classroom after lunch. I signed up for twice per week since her teacher doesn't have an aide.

I'm home. Not for long though. DS has a doctor's appointment at 3 so gotta pick him up early again. Just a check up. We switched doctors since his pedi was giving us trouble with the freaking orders for speech/OT for no damn reason but that's a story for a different day so I got him an appt with my doc. He's pretty easy going so hopefully it goes as planned.

It also feels like it should be later than Tuesday DS officially has a cold. He was fine during the day yesterday, or at least per day care's reports, plus during dinner/evening time, but then he had a hard time going to sleep - I had to help settle him, which almost never happens anymore, and then he was up for a while in the middle of the night, I think because he couldn't breath well from being all stuffed up. Benedryl finally got him sleeping again, and I'm thinking about just giving him some before bed tonight because after two nights in a row of not sleeping great, I am beat. Days like today remind me very much why we decided to be OAD. This momma needs sleep.

Good luck with the doc NamasteBirches! Seems you have had a tough time with services for your DS for quite some time. Hope your DS feels better soon jillywilly! I forget, how old is he? Maybe you could try elevating him at night to help with the congestion.

Maybe you could try elevating him at night to help with the congestion. He's two. We had a wedge pillow in his crib forever because of the constant colds/congestion that come with day care, but now he's in a toddler bed with a normal pillow, and there's a 0% chance he'll stay in any position I put him in when I tuck him in. He normally winds up scrunched up on his belly, using a blanket as a pillow, and if he's chilly, he'll pull his pillow over him, lol. I need to see if our humidifier still works for cold season, that normally helps him, but I wasn't prepared since this is the first cold of the season - we had a nice stretch of being healthy this summer!

DS is still feeling under the weather. He's looking a little better though. I'm hoping he wants dinner tonight.
Other than that we've just been watching movies and laying low. Hopefully we will be back to normal tomorrow.

I got back from Target a little while ago. I went to take advantage of the 40% Halloween costume coupon that they have on Cartwheel today. Dorian chose to be Walter from Beat Bugs. He tried it on when we got home, it's adorable.
So today Dorian came home with a note from his teacher that he pinched a kid when lining up to come in from recess. I asked him what happened. He said the kid picked him up and he didn't want him to, so he pinched him. Obviously this was wrong and as a result my son lost play time, which I totally support. However, he said that the teacher didn't see the kid picking him up (and Dorian didn't tell her) so there were no consequences there. I'm actually surprised he didn't say anything, he's usually pretty vocal. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to respond to this note or not.

Had success at the doc!! I knew I liked him. I'm glad we switched. His old one was refusing to sign the new orders for therapy because she "hasn't seen him in a while." Like, what? So sorry my kid is healthy? Last time I checked, at this age kids go for once a year physicals unless they are sick. A way to get us to come see you is definitely not to deny my kid services & force us to come in for no damn reason. Yes, I know the timing is close to his 6yr physical but if anything, that makes me want to get a new doc especially that they've been trying to get her to sign this stupid form for weeks. This is all besides the fact that the stupid therapy place had sent it to the wrong fax # a couple of times delaying the process even more. Then I had tried the dev pedi route but lo & behold she's on maternity leave so they had said they'd try other docs in the dept to try & sign it but haven't heard anything there either. Luckily, the doc today signed it no problem once he became familiar with DS' background & all that. So fingers freaking crossed we can start soon. Now it's just up to their darn scheduling. I've done my part which should have been their part months ago.

NamasteBirches, Glad the doctor appointment went well. That's total BS with his old doctor. I would be furious. You'd think they'd be glad he was healthy and didn't need to be in the office all the time. I think it is the norm to only take your kid for well visits, unless they are sick. Why would you go otherwise? That's just weird.
