Tell me all the things that are coming out this year that you can't wait for! Movies, games, books, tv shows...I need to know what to add to my amazon wish list!

Kelley Armstrong, my favorite urban fantasy author, finishes her Cainsville series this year. The last book comes out in August. Also, Brandon Sanderson has his third book of his Stormlight Archives series coming out in November, I think.
I'm excited about Thor: Ragnarok. The trailer cracks me up. And also Star Wars but I probably won't get to see that until January because December is such a busy month we don't really have time to squeeze in a date night.
My husband is super excited about the sequel to the game Shadows of Mordor, called Shadows of War, that comes out in August. The trailer does look really cool, you can coerce a fire drake to fight for you so I'm all for that!

VALÉRIAN! I need it to be good and I need SW fans to not be terrible about it all. I am so looking forward to seeing Besson bring Valérian et Laureline to the screen.
Blade Runner 2049 is also on my radar. I also really hope that one is good. I love the original and the trailers for the sequel are looking promising.
Divinity 2 is coming out some time this year and I'm stoked for that. The first game was so good. I have early access to it already but I'm waiting for release.

We have the first one but haven't had a lot of time to put into it yet. My parents played it all the way through and loved it. They also just finished Horizon Zero Dawn and can't say enough great things about that game. I've seen the poster for Valerian at work but don't know much about it. Why would SW fans be terrible about it??

Why would SW fans be terrible about it?? À not-so-few really big things were ripped off of Valérian for Star Wars. The design of the Millenium Falcon is one of those things - the ship in Valérian looks just like it. There's a scene in the comics where the main character is encased in plastic... JUST like Han Solo in the carbonite. It goes on, and on, and on. Cloud City, the star destroyer, Yoda's house, many alien designs, sometimes entire chase scenes cribbed straight from Valérian. I am worried that SW fans who don't know that Valérian predates the first SW by a decade will assume that it's ripping off Star Wars and not the other way around.

Going to see WW on Friday and can't wait!! I'm really hoping it is good. It looks like the DC movie to have the most promise so far so I have high hopes! After you see it you should start a thread with your thoughts and tell the rest of us whether we should go or skip!

I am so excited for Wonder Woman. Im not a DC girl but I love Gal Gadot and Chris Pine and of course woman superheros!!! The trailer looks amazing though.
I hope its good, if it gets bad reviews I worry that it will give studios another excuse to say female lead super hero movies dont pay off. And before I die I desperately need a Black Widow movie.

Get out of my way for Ragnarok! Hiddles for life! (Except for that dark time of Hiddleswift which has really kinda taken him down a notch for me. ) We might not get to Spider-Man because it's just such a pain to deal with getting a babysitter and we only have so many people we like to ask to watch DS so often.

I'm psyched for the new season of GoT, season two of Stranger Things, and the new version of It coming out in September.

I'm excited for It. I hope breaking it into two films instead of one miniseries can give it the boost it needed. Tim Curry did an incredible job as Pennywise, but I think it would've done better with a larger budget and less TV content restraints.

Will also see Cars 3 and Despicable Me 3 with B because I love kid movies as much as he does. 😬

He is two and a half so I've been thinking about going for awhile but I work at our theater so he has been there multiple times to see me and he considers it his playground. I didn't realize that would be a problem until I thought about how, if he got bored halfway through, he would probably want to go play with the rubberbands in the office or color with the highlighters. He is finally at the attention level to sit through a movie at home though so I'm thinking he might be ready.

mischief I really hope Wonder Woman is good but I think that, even if it isn't or if it doesn't do well, it still won't neccesarily mean that they would apply that to all female superhero movies. I feel more like Marvel would sneer at DC again and then go on with making their Captain Marvel movie and just assuming that it will do better. If THAT doesn't do well though...well that becomes more of a problem.

I am also excited for WW. I haven't liked a lot of the DC movies, but WW looks so good. I need to see when our Alamo Drafthouse has scheduled their women only showing and try to get some friends together for a girls only outing!

I'm still really bitter about Spiderman. I loved Andrew Garfield in that role. So....happy Marvel got Spidey back...but really annoyed with the origin story AGAIN.
Things I'm looking for are a ways out. Mostly I'm looking forward to Moffat getting out of DW once and for all. So season 11 and new Doctor. (Even though I'm really enjoying Capaldi finally.)
