Well hurricane Irma knocked my plan right off the last 2 weeks. First it was prepping for her, then waiting for her, than surviving her and then cleaning up her mess. What a needy bitch.
I am going to start this week fresh! Healthy eating, no bad snacking, gym 3 days and at home work outs the other days. I am going to try to take the kids on walks after dinner too.
How is everyone else doing?

I started a new program being offered through my H's work called Naturally Slim. It's obnoxious and annoying but it makes sense and ultimately does promote all good things (portion sizes, eating slowly, only eating when truly hungry....) I'm down 7.4lbs in 2 weeks which seems like way too much way too soon but since it's not a "diet" it's a "lifestyle change".. Hopefully it stays off.

That's awesome taketheshot! Are you still going thru sugar withdrawal? I see my thyroid doctor next week and I will be speaking with him about my weight. Despite not exercising recently like i would like too, i still eat 90% healthy - i don't lose weight. at all. I should be dropping pounds. so maybe it might be my meds.

RunsforWineandCarbs... The cravings for sugar are definitely still there. Like I met a friend at a cafe a few nights ago and she got this massive, chocolate cupcake with chocolate fudge frosting and I was practically drooling watching her eat it. I could have gotten something small to nibble on but I don't want to negate all of the progress I've made. I will save my sweets for birthdays or celebrations I can't avoid haha

I'm envious of your self control taketheshot. I generally eat pretty healthily (lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc) but I have a mega weakness for sweets. If I see something sweet I almost never resist. It's terrible and definitely something I need to work on. I just got a Bob Duallie for the girls and have been loving it for walks. Once L is old enough I'm going to try to go on daily runs (I think they recommend 6 or 8 months before you start jogging with them?) For now I'll do daily walks on the big hills around our house and hopefully my butt will appreciate it.

momololo, I am the same with sweets. I started the whole life challenge on Saturday and in 3 days haven't had any (besides a bit of cake yesterday) and I feel like total crap. I didn't really realize how much sugar I was eating in a day. Even in stuff like peanut butter, etc. Then skittles, etc lol. I am really proud of my prep work for the WLC though. It is going well. My goal is to lose 1 point or less a day for the rest of the week for food and keep it clean. I'm excited about my meal plan and being able to follow that. I made a bunch of lunches yesterday too so I should be able to stay on track. Back to the gym in the morning.

CestLaVie, tell me more about this whole life challenge. How much sugar are you allowed to have? I know sugar is in everything plus all the cakes and chocolates I eat. I'm scared to keep track of it all.

I'm scared to keep track of it all. It doesn't ban sugar completely but you get 5 points for nutrition a day. Every time you eat something on the no list, you lose a point. It's more about deciding which things are worth losing points for. I did end up having some chocolate squares today but I only ate 1/3 of the bar and it was totally worth it and satisfied me. We have a group on the healthy living board. There is still sign ups if anyone is interested! You have the potential for 35 points per day. 1-5 points for Nutrition 5 points for hitting sleep goal 5 points for hitting water goal 5 points for 10 minutes of stretching 5 points for 10 minutes of exercise 5 points for a lifestyle challenge (this week is to put your phone down during certain times like walking around or commuting. Can be anything from declutter to journal) 5 points for writing a short reflection on how your day went

I really like the Whole Life Challenge (I'm doing it too), because it's not all or nothing, and it focuses on more than just diet. Even if you have a bad day nutrition wise, you can still do well with exercise, stretching, hydration, etc.

I finally had my first day back at the gym yesterday! And my entire body hurts. I did arm day and abs. Then 30 mins on the treadmill.
I still have this cough and slight congestion I can't shake but I made it to the gym. And I meal prepped for the week - lunches consist of roasted sweet potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, zuchinnis, yellow squash and garlic, grilled chicken burger and snacks are almonds, hard boiled eggs and greek yogurt.
I have my thyroid check up tomorrow and am expecting the doctor to tell me i am pre-diabetic. So the gym and diet have to be a thing now.

I feel like I should sign up for a run to give myself something to work towards. Then I remember how much I loathe running. I need an event or something to motivate myself. Do it! An event/ race is a great motivator.

Happy day! Last week was the best week I've had nutritionally in probably 7-8 years! Gym today at lunch too. Still slow and it feels sort of pointless but at least it gets me moving over the lunch. I am getting excited for snow. My new office is in the middle of nowhere and I will be able to snowshoe at lunches.

I'm down 8 lbs and my pants are loose in the waist.
I cheated a little on Friday into Saturday, but got right back on track yesterday with my clean eating. But damn, was it nice to have alcohol, cake, coffee, and all the greasy breakfast foods.
I really enjoyed my lunch today: salmon over spinach salad and veggies with some hummus.
Chicken fajitas tonight which I'll eat in a lettuce wrap with a little brown rice and black beans.

RunsforWineandCarbs, it's easier than walking in the snow but definitely a lot of resistance. It's a really decent workout without having to run haha. Builds muscle for sure.

Got up this morning and went for a run, despite the fact that my hamstrings are sore (but not excruciating) and I was tired. But I got it in anyway, which I'm proud of.

I completed leg/glute day today. My abs and arms still hurt from Sunday. And waking up at 4:30 was a bitch but i did it.

I ran/walked 2 miles today. Mostly walking I'd say. But I was pushing Ethan in the stroller. Plus my knee pain never fully went away last year and I stopped going to PT because it's really expensive. Needless to say, I didn't want to push it. No knee pain, which is exciting. All the strength training and almost no cardio the last 6 months has paid off I think.
H is working from home tomorrow, I might see if he'll let me run while Ethan naps.
