jedi, that is very upsetting. I am glad you have a number of someone to contact to be able to support his mental wellness. Don't feel bad that his teacher has had to talk to him in english...it's a lot of transitions right now for him. I would have a conversation with the teacher though about ensuring that you are being notified of these things, as making those statements are concerning and should be addressed (whether it's to understand what he means by this, or to help further understand where he is coming from and why he may be saying it...it shouldn't be dismissed). Hugs lady.

Also, 45thparallel , being that we only speak English, will this be difficult for us visiting there? (Almost) Everyone in Montreal is bilingual This is true. The island is full of English. You'll have no problem, especially around touristy areas. Yes, old Montreal is iconic. If you get tickets for a Circ du soleil on the waterfront is a fun experience. Saint Catherine (rue - street) is the shopping district. Poutine and Montreal smoked meat are a must. Many famous chefs have restaurants in the downtown area. if you can get a reservation they are great for the food and experience. I looked, the CFL team is not playing when you're planning to come so no football. Hockey would be happening and watching the Habs even if you don't love hockey is fun. No one can cheer or boo like montrealers. Walk up mont royal and take in the views. Get a tattoo on the plateau. Drink lots of wine at parc la Fontaine (while eating your Poutine)

45thparallel , I was just looking in the Plateau Mont Royale area. I can't believe how cheap AirBnbs are in the area. Under $100 a night!? What are some MUST DO's for Montreal that you would recommend to a newcomer? H JUST texted me saying he was looking briefly, but wasn't sure what there is to do there. I've always wanted to see Montreal, so I'm trying to sell it Also, there are SOOOO many air BnBs in Montreal that prices can range from dirt cheap to super ritzy. There a spot for everyone and everything. My family used to use it when they came to visit me but my recommendations would be too far north to be fun for you.

fierymama, I just sold a double stroller today with that exact same scenario. I sold it to the first person who contacted me (she was a slow responder too) and not the second woman who offered more money. The first woman was nice and I'd be annoyed if I were her and the stroller got sold out from under me. But I don't think you're wrong either way unless you've already agreed to sell it to the first lady .

This has been the longest week ever, and it's only going to get longer. Two more days to get through.
I had a horrible migraine at work last night that led to me puking in the street AGAIN after I got in my car. Oh and peeing myself too. Over it.
Gotta try to keep from exploding at work today. I just can't with the stupid.

I responded to s1 teacher this morning. She said her times to respond to phone calls and emails is 11:15-11:55 (recess and lunch) and 1:35-2:35 (specials class) then at the end of the day. I know i need to give her time but I feel like our issue should kinda take priority. I was hoping to hear from here during that hour prep. I suppose she still has 9 min

And....I lost it.
A colleague of mine sent two officers that were infested with lice to ME for assistance. Uh no. Hell no. Why would you do that? I get that it's "just" lice, but you don't send me people that are infected/infested with ANYTHING due to my pregnancy. There are literally 8 other people that could have assisted them. So I yelled at him. He's been driving me nuts all week. He's a nice guy, but a terrible co-worker. He's a nosy busy-body, gossipy type and always believes that other coworkers/subordinates are "scamming" so he's always trying to get other people in trouble (AKA SNITCH AND BROWN-NOSING). It usually backfires because it turns out the people weren't scamming at all. This week he tried twice to get me to handle his assignments because he felt I wasn't doing anything, and I let it go. But I'm done.
I really dislike talking about my pregnancy at work. As far as I'm concerned, it's not anyone's business. I do the work I'm assigned and I help out with whatever else I can. That's all that's required of me. But there are situations that I'm not really not supposed to handle (interactions with prisoners, stressful interactions, chemical exposures, etc) that some of my colleagues HE doesn't understand and gets resentful of it. I get it. It appears I am not "doing as much" as them. But I am. I have other assignments that I handle so they don't have to. Also, I hid my pregnancy for the first 3 months and worked full-duty knowing and taking on all the risks, and I didn't have to do that. I Honestly, I shouldn't have done that. Plus, I don't talk about the very difficult symptoms (barely managed vomiting/nausea, leg cramps, back pain) that make things difficult in general.
I shouldn't have to explain or spell-out that I do not do those particular tasks because I AM PREGNANT, but it feels like I have to. I hate feeling like I have to justify to anybody that I am a good employee.
Anyway, end vent.

Thank god my husband gets home today. My kids have about broken me. And hot homemade coffee for the win this morning. Ok, can we talk about this? Am I the only one that is like "please peel these children off me" after I've been alone with them? H is a pilot, and sometimes he has to work weekends. So when I work all week, and then have the kids alone all weekend, I Feel like I am crawling out of my skin by the end of the weekend, and by the end of two weeks, I'm exhausted. Is this a normal feeling, AUG2015, please telll me.

jedi, I didn't see the post, but big jug hugs to you Some issues at school from S1's teacher that should have been communicated when it happened but was only communicated because I emailed to see how things were going. I've since sent a pretty lengthy email back and asked for clarification on something. That was this morning. I've heard nothing since.

Also, this is a bit of a FFC, but I really hate my coworkers bringing up my status as a mom to get sympathy for whatever angle they are trying to work. For instance, last night an officer asked me if he could leave early because his pregnant wife was home alone with the toddler and was overwhelmed and asked him to come home early. This is the second time he's asked this of me with the same excuse. I FEEL like he's trying to use my status to get sympathy from me, which is stupid because dude, you are a grown adult; if you want to leave early, just ask. I don't need to hear a reason unless it's an emergency I need to know about. It's YOUR leave, use it how you want. If you wanted to leave early because you just don't feel like being here, I still wouldn't care. Go. But if you are trying to get me to feel sympathetic for ya, it ain't working cuz you certainly see my pregnant ass here at work, yes? I would like to leave early too, ya know. CAN I LEAVE TOO? HUH? CAN I?
(But of course I grant the request because I am a softie and damn, I know that feeling, but quit using the same excuse over and over.)
