Can I join in? I was active on the other boards and wasn't sure I'd migrate. But - here I am starting IVF and wanting community.
I haven't quite gotten all of the language down... but looks like I start injections on the 30th - if all goes as planned and retrieval in October. I'll be following the antagonist protocol.
We are out of pocket on this and debating which plan to pick. My H doesn't think he wants to go through multiple retrievals if needed.... so leaning towards paying for one full cycle. But that stresses me out.
No diagnosis - or, I guess unexplained infertility. History of recurrent m/c. Like... 6. That's me. I'm catching up on all of you!

I'm feeling tired from stims already! So far this is going way better than IVF1 though, I'm guessing not having a cyst drained on Day 1 really helps!
Any tips for doing shots on the go? Typically we've been able to always do shots at home but we have two evenings this time where we'll have to do shots away from home.

So two nights of Lupron shots down! 8 or 9 more days of those and then I'll start stims DH is doing a good job with the injections so far, and everyone was right, the lupron injections aren't bad at all. I'm still overlapping BCPs, although my last day on those will be Friday.

Glad the shots are going well tho!

Glad the shots are going well tho! So others may be able to chime in and explain this better than me (still a #newb at this) but I'm doing a long Lupron protocol - it's a GnRH agonist protocol. After being on a course of BCPs, you start Lupron injections and overlap them by about 5 days with the BCP. Lupron works to shut down the pituitary gland by basically flooding it with the hormones (maybe? it's some body chemical) that usually have to be sent in short pulses to tell the pituitary what to do. After you finish the BCP, you stay on the Lupron for another 5 days or so before starting stims, and you continue to stay on the Lupron daily throughout stimming to keep the pituitary quiet. Some people use a microdose Lupron protocol (I think that's better for DOR? Correct me if I'm wrong, DOR ladies). The one downside to Lupron down reg is that you can't use a Lupron trigger, and with the HCG trigger you are at a greater risk of OHSS. Did you use an antagonist protocol before, like ganirelix? Also, most of my knowledge of all this comes from listening to episodes of the Beat Infertility podcast - there is a good one called Fertility Medications 101 that explains each type of med, and there's another one just about Stims and Priming Protocols. The host interviews an RE with the Fertility Centers of Illinois who is really good at explaining everything. **TW** My one warning with the podcast, which I otherwise love, is to turn it off before they stupid canned outro starts - while I've never ever heard anyone on the actual show use the term "baby dust," they do use the term in the silly ending played after each episode.

happyin14, welcome! I don't have much to offer with Lupron, but I abhor it. If I have to do a FET again, I'll beg him to offer something else. It makes me feel AWFUL. I did it to avoid OHSS, but I have felt since the trigger and for the last two weeks, I have been taking it. I can't wait to go off of it on Sunday and just be on estrogen and progesterone! FET is 9/20-9/22. Not sure which day I'll be. I'm nervous. Using two of our four embryos. Hoping a good one decides to stick around. Trigger warning---loss Okay, now that it is getting close, I am terrified of another loss. I don't want my anxiety to effect my new chances, and the nerves of this are all starting. Doing accupuncture, exercise, and trying to breathe.

daisy818, I agree with you about the Beat Infertility podcast. I like most of it, but I hate the ending bit. I often let it play so it doesn't sit around in my "unfinished" list, and the term isn't triggering for me personally, I more find it a bit creepy. hoosiermama76, hugs! I totally get that anxiety, wondering what makes this time different. Sending good thoughts to you and your embryos! It sounds like your FET will be right around my ER; here's hoping it's a lucky weekend for all of us!
