My dad retired almost 10 years ago, and right after he retired he had a massive heart attack. Fast forward almost 10 years later, he now has another blockage in the same artery that they put the stent in. He has to go in tomorrow for a catheterization to find out if it's a new blockage or if the existing stent scarred over. Either way, he is getting another stent. I know it's routine procedure, and I'm glad they caught it before he was hit with another heart attack, but I'm still slightly nervous.

I am about to try a salary negotiation. I'm scared!! But I have been thinking about it and now with this news, plus my term is up and I need a new letter of offer anyway... Our finance person told me directly I should, so I feel confident but I just hate negotiating. But more money would be nice.

Thinking good thoughts for your dad Betweenthelines. My Dad had something similar happen, except he had a heart attack cause by some blockages that was managed with medication, and almost 10 years exactly he had another heart attacks, same type of blockage, and also managed with medication. But it can be scary.

abominationsnowman, how far along are you? I rocked some contractions from 28 weeks on. It was... awful. Betweenthelines,Good Luck to your dad.. I know stents are scary. When my mom got hers the nurse freaked out that she had a huge clot in her thigh after the surgery. Dr comes running in, it was her hip bone ( she's on the thinner side and the nurse wasn't prepared for thin patients). CODE RED. these comments might also be for skinandbones. Sorry for my poor note taking CestLaVie, like a boss and being a boss. I want to be you when I grow up RunsforWineandCarbs, also bossing up. My H says that airports make people be their worst selves. Natural disasters do the same thing. jess213, here too. Colds are dumb. jedi, SO CUTE!! mrspiatt, I'm so sorry, hopefully the dr can help. redandblue, hey lady!

Thanks, ladies. Appreciate the thoughts.
This morning has been crazy busy. I'm finally done with everything. I'm watching Bachelor in Paradise now and I'm meal planning for next week since I have to get my peapod order in by tonight.

I'm here. But barely. I have so many balls up in the air right now and to handle 2 toddlers on top of it all is purely exhausting. It's naptime and I will try to accomplish all the things in the next 2 hours.. Quietly, of course.

So I took the girls to my gyno appointment because clearly I know how to have a good time. They did surprisingly well! I learned that once I stop breastfeeding sex will be fun again (which I already knew) my abs have separated and apparently won't go back AND I have a hernia right at my belly button. I looked at the doc and said "so basically I have a dry vag and I'm falling apart? Cool." She died laughing. I didn't know about the hernia but it explains why that area feels weird. She said I can have surgery if it bothers me but I said my bikini modeling days are behind me so I'll be alright.

Sooooooo if you're watching the news about the storm you've probably seen that Pinellas County Zone A is being evacuated. I'm in Zone C. They're waiting to rule on B and C. A has to leave by 6am tomorrow and can't go back until at least Tuesday (!!!) at 6am. Yikes. Work still hasn't made an announcement so we can't go far if they stay open. This is insane. I'm so tired of waiting. Edit. The map for funsies. We're way at the top under the CR880.

hiimjamie, i'd assume if you are evacuated, your work would excuse you from being there. It's not reasonable to require a person to show up for work who has been told they have to evacuate. Hotels are hard to come by at the moment - all the way up to GA. Do you all have a plan? Are you prepared to evacuate?

We have food for the animals and all our documents are already in a small fire/water proof lock box that we can grab. We have points for free nights at La Quinta and they take pets for free. We'll go to East Ridge, TN if we can't find anything closer. (Our halfway point for our trips to IL) Work will probably excuse me but it A. Won't be paid or B. I'll have to use time and the only time I have left for the year is for a wedding in Oregon next month. I'm the maid of honor. I really can't skip that. I mean I'm sure if it really came down to life an death it'd be one thing but I'd feel awful.

hiimjamie, just remember the most important thing is you and your family's safety - that comes before work. this storm is no joke - it's bigger than the state. it's predicted to be worse than andrew. if you are in a flood zone i'd think of moving to higher ground sooner rather than later.

Oh right for sure. If they evacuate us we'll definitely leave. I just hate that work is being a bitch. Our director is in Zone A and he already peaced out. 😑
