I'm going to try and do my fridge today. I've neglected wiping and it's embarrassing.
I did the freezer not too long ago, but I may at least take an inventory. The only things we really have in there are jars of stock or soup and a couple bags of frozen veggies.

I don't have an entry table or desk at all, so my "command" center with calendar, keys, pens etc is on the kitchen island. It kind of drives me bonkers, but I have nowhere else to put it.

The freezer made me angry how much we wasted. I've made a list of what we have for better meal planning now. At least when I open the door stuff doesn't fall on me anymore.

I did the fridge this morning. How long do you guys keep condiments that you only use occasionally? For us this would be things like soy sauce, mustard, etc. I check the expiration date. Even after it's been opened? I always thought that once something has been opened that maybe the exp. date is no longer exactly the same. I just googled and saw that soy sauce is good opened for up to 2 years in the fridge, mustard 1 year, and mayonnaise 1 month so I'm going to start buying smaller containers of mayonnaise since we never finish a whole thing in a month.

Could you do a small rack or shelf on the wall near the entry? Or maybe a hanging organizer on the back of a pantry door or something like that? We don't have much counter space so I've been trying to find alternate places for everything which isn't directly related to cooking.

I have tried all of those things and honestly, they are where piles go to die. The only benefit of it being on the island (which is large) is that I don't forget about things or let the piles get too big. It has been the most successful option thus far, but still kind of drives me batty that it's out. It's really more a lament that I wish I had an office space.

I'm not going to finish the kitchen today. I did an Ikea run and got some storage boxes and have gone through some cabinets but not all. My counters are already as empty as possible but I have to go through my cookbooks. But we also did the boys rooms today and especially the baby's room looks great so overall I'm happy. loony At least the island is large then! Sometimes there is no perfect solution.

Just a thought, you can get cute placemats for cheap at Walmart or target and put them on the shelves. Makes for easier clean up and adds pop of color. I had it in my old fridge and forgot them when we moved. I was annoyed. I'm thinking of implementing it in the pantry shelves.

This is why I don't buy bulk meat anymore. I buy what I need for the week and maybe a little more of there was a bomb ass sale.

Our bedroom was ratchet so I've been in here. I've picked up clothes off the floor and folded three loads of clothes. Our room historically is the worst. So I myself have still not made it to the kitchen. I'm not mad cause I'm doing something. I will take pictures for accountability.

This is one side of the room. The floor can be seen. This is MH's side. Those are his work pants on the floor for quick change in morning. He is laid off right now but I'm leaving them there as mojo that he will be back working soon.

I purposely didn't put anything down for yesterday so people can catch up.
I didn't get any suggestions on what area to work in next so I guess I will pick something?

Day 5 - Laundry room
Wipe the appliances down. Maybe run a rinse cycle in the machine. Clean lint traps. Vacuum them or behind the machine if need be.
Clear the top of your dryer.
Fold shit that's been sitting in there.
Fold clothes that you have been letting chill in baskets too long.

Well I cleaned out my fridge. After I ate some expired ranch. Don't ask, but it inspired me. I had more expired condiments than I thought I did. Anyways, what about laundry and linen closets? My linen closet would take a whole weekend. Maybe a holiday weekend. I will post a pic later.

I'm so behind on laundry it is terrible. Every day I say today will be the day I finish everything and but everyday ends with a ton of washed unfolded clothes laying around. Cleaning up the laundry room will be a good push to get it all put away.

I'm still doing laundry room. Ours is in our basement so I've also been doing the rooms in our basement that we use for storage. We've collected so much stuff that needs to be sold or given away and just going through all the clothes and everything else is taking awhile. But I really want to do the basement completely as we tend to put stuff there that we don't know what to do with and it needs to just be taken care of. I know I'll feel really good when I finally finish.

No one panic. This is part of the reason why I haven't posted any new areas. I don't want anyone to feel overwhelmed or give up or feel left behind.
Some things we can do in the kitchen - (I know we briefly left this area)
Clean counter/stove tops. Sometimes we also allow clutter on counters. Let's clear this space. Find the stuff a home. I have no issue with an appliance on the counter if it is one that is used.
If you have a coffeemaker, consider creating a "station" and put all your coffee related supplies right there near it in a cabinet etc.
Wipe out your refrigerator. We already did a deep clean. If you didn't you can catch up now. Just a basic wipe down and check in to see for others that may have cleaned their fridge a few days ago.
Clean your microwave.
Wipe down your small appliances. You will be amazed how dirty the front of your stove or dishwasher can get. Wipe your dishwasher seals. Nothing fancy some Lysol spray, wipes, soapy water, or wet rag.
Sweep and or mop the floors.
Tupperware area - did we do this already? Toss your shit that doesn't match. No top for a bottom toss that hoe.
This should finish up the kitchen for some or most of us. Consider this a catch up day. No man left behind.
Now we did move briefly to the laundry room. This was a light area too.
Vacuum or dust. Wipe machines down. Put away clutter. Fold those lingering clothes. Don't make it a bad chore. Get you some earbuds and put some music on and get to folding. You can put some Netflix on your phone or tablet and watch a show while you do this.
When your areas are neater you often feel lighter in your mind. Don't think for one second that often times what is going on with us is mirrored in our spaces and vice versa.
Let's do this!!!!

Going to do the kitchen and laundry room today. My Tupperware situation is atrocious. And SO has a tendency to throw everything on the counter 🙄

Do not clean your oven. I am going to make this it's own big thing because my oven will be a big job.

Late to the party but I just got around to my pantry. So much better! And small things like relabelling some spice jars where the marker had rubbed off really refreshed it.

This motivated me to get to work this morning. Going through all the kids clothes now.
I am caught up on laundry which is AMAZING for me. I'm going to do a load a day so I never fall so far behind again.

Today we are moving on -
Nightstands - if you are like me this area can get very unorganized. Think about what you have in there and why. Is this the best place for that item?
The top - the top of my nightstand is a clusterfuck of papers (my file cabinet broke). I really need to go through the pile every so often.
If you don't have this to do then move on.
Under your bed - are you just housing bullshit under there? This can be a source of storage in an under the bed tote. This could be a home for seasonal items etc.
Make you need to vacuum cause you have tumbleweed size dust balls under there.
If you don't have that area to do how about a desk? These areas can become a catch all for bullshit. What do you use your desk for? Make that space inviting for yourself and remove that clutter!
Let's go through your underwear drawer - you know you don't like those drawers girl and you never wear them - toss them. Those panties you said you were going to lose weight and wear, how long has it been? Those panties that have a hole in them. You can toss them too.
Let's not bite off more than we can chew. Try to get these areas done!

So a recap, we have worked on: Kitchen - pantry, freezer, refrigerator, counters, junk drawer, Tupperware, large utensils, table, under sink, microwave, small appliances Laundry room Bedroom - nightstands, under the bed, and underwear drawer If you have not done all the areas that is ok. Let's move forward and we will have some catch up days. The bolded are the ones I still have to do. Moving on - let's do this heifers!!!! Dresser drawers - we have already done our underwear drawer so let's keep going. If you have not worn in the last year, girl you know you are not going to wear it. If it doesn't fit, let it go. If it has a hole, live better. For me, my other drawers are sleep clothes and that's it really. I am a hang in the closet girl. Closet - brace yourself and pace yourself. If you have to do this one in sections that is better than nothing. I don't want you to pull everything out and get overwhelmed. Shelves - be mindful of what you put up there like for me. I don't put stuff up there I use a lot cause I am short and if I can't reach it I just don't really fool with it. Hanging clothes - again are you wearing it or no? Is it in style still? Do you feel good when you put it on? Does it fit? Shoes - if you are not wearing them let them go. Bathroom - I have two drawers to clean out and under both sinks. I don't even really know what is under there. It has gotten away from me. Makeup purge - if the shit is too old, it must go. Linen closet - in ours I keep our medicines and first aid stuff, linens, towels, and all kinds of other shit and it looks bad right now. Wait until I show you. You will die. Go through your towels. Go through your linens. If you are hold onto stuff that you know you all don't use and have not use and you don't even own that size bed anymore, let it go. If you have none of that to do other things you can do while you are in there: Vacuum or sweep out the closet. Dust if needed. Clean shower/tub. Toilet Sinks Window? Mop Empty trash If you are done, vacuum your bedroom, dust, make you bed. You will feel like a boss. I am not really a make your bed person but when I make it I feel like I am winning. Kida, adelbert, teraiin, @blanche, kbw, Should I keep going? Post more? If you have none of this to do @blanche brought up cleaning up your digital pictures. Maybe you need to back yours up? I love Google photos for back up. How about go through your emails? If you dedicate some time to this daily you can really clean that out. You set the time. 20 minutes?
