letthewookieewin Oh no - I am so sorry for your loss. How scary about the car fire too. I am glad your H is okay. That is so much to take in over a few days. I hope things settle down so you guys get some time to process everything. budders Sorry about the back to school woes and your H sharing the pregnancy news before you are ready. I have an IF/loss history, and it would drive me nuts if my H did that, so I can empathize.

Congratulations on the new dog butlerfan . What type of dog is it? Any names? Pics? She is a Shih Tzu per the shelter-estimate her to be about 6 years old. She was named Olivia but we changed it to Daisy. She is tan/yellow and getting over bronchitis-we just brought her home Saturday and we had seen her on August 12th so she had been battling getting over it for a few weeks. We have a wellness check with our vet with her next week so hopefully she is feeling better by then!
If I knew how to do pictures on here I would.

Love the name. It's such a great dog's name. I hope she gets better soon. Poor thing.

I'm avoiding work. Short weeks destroy productivity so we should all just go home until Monday.

sheilathetank - that's a thing here too. I do not get yardwork in the rain, but especially mowing wet grass.

sheilathetank I like doing weeding in the (light) rain or right after because the ground is softer, but that's different than using machinery lol.

Life has been crazy lately - we were on vacation, then catching up at work last week, then holiday weekend, and now finally starting to feel somewhat normal again. We've STILL been battling the diaper rash that will not end with DS, though I think we're finally on the right path. On top of that, over the weekend he developed a whole body rash, that after another trip to the dermatologist yesterday, we learned was a viral rash. Luckily, his skin on all fronts is slowly starting to look better, and he's in day care today.
Also yesterday, he got his leg caught in one of the slats of his crib. Luckily H was working at home to deal with taking him to the doctor, because MIL couldn't free his leg. H was able to get it out, but it rattled him to the point of he decided it was time to make the big boy bed leap. He did well last night, I was worried about him getting up a million times, but he just brought a pile of books into his crib, and then passed out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a stellar repeat performance, but last night we also had the fortune (or misfortune) of he wound up not napping, so he was super tired.

Sorry you are still battling the rash. Do they have any idea what it is? I'm glad his first night in his big boy bed went well!

Sorry you are still battling the rash. Do they have any idea what it is? I'm glad his first night in his big boy bed went well! After two pediatrician appointments and two different dermatologists (same practice), we think it's as simple as just contact dermatitis. We've been playing around with different diaper rash ointments/new diapers and headed in the right direction finally! But yeah... it's been a loooooong road.

Our pediatrician originally thought it was a fungal thing. Then the first dermatologist diagnosed it as simple irritation, but said it was unlikely that it was from the diaper brand (we told him we were using Honest diapers basically from birth). The second pediatrician told us to switch brands, we tried Seventh Generation, and I finally got my Amazon Prime shipment over the weekend of Naty diapers that finally seem to actually be helping. H keeps saying we should just potty train, but at just over two years, I know he's not ready - I'm hoping that by the time winter's here we can give that a go, though!

jillywilly, that's so strange how sensitive some kids are. One mom on my bmb had her baby get a really bad diaper rash from using new diapers and had to go back to pampers. @letthewookiewin my condolences on your loss.

Busy work week. I shouldn't even be on here. Big update. Leo used the potty at DC yesterday! DH picked him up so I don't know if it was a one time thing or all day long. But, of course, he won't go at home. I told DH we should go buy the toilet lid that has the smaller one for kids. At DC they take him to a real toilet not a plastic training one which is what we use at home. The long weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Birthday parties on the weekend. And then we took my dad and SM on a river boat tour of chicago on Monday. Leo loved being on the boat! And total mom fail for not getting a good pic of him on it. I have plenty of the baby.

Thank you for all the love! ❤ Thankfully we can just share my car until we can buy another one.
On a brighter note, I had a lovely conversation with DS this morning about who has a penis and who doesn't. All while he was on the potty and checking his own out. Gotta love little boys, I guess.

Oh yes, we have been doing TONS of diaper free time, which is also how I've learned he's 100% not ready for real potty training yet, lol. But luckily he'll go if we stick him on it, so we do diaper free time, with lots of dragging a screaming kid to the toilet in between. Toddler butts are the cutest, but I have seen my fill of my child's lately.

Every single time I go to the bathroom now, DS wants to come in. And every time, it's "mommy penis?" And we get to have the conversation all over again how he has a penis, daddy has a penis, mommy does not have penis. Then, he saw me getting dressed one morning, pointed to my boobs, and said "those?" So I told him those are mommy's boobs. He then pulled his shirt up and said, "Wally have boobs?" So I told him boys have little boobs, not really coming up with better terminology pre-coffee. So of course, now he walks around describing if everyone has big boobs, or little boobs. So yes, gotta love little boys.

The people that H is telling at his school I don't know, so it doesn't really bother me too much. I'm more annoyed with myself because I seem to keep forgetting that it's still way too early. While I trust the people I've already told, I almost let it slip a few times to people I know would tell everybody. We didn't tell anybody until about 12 weeks last time, I don't know why this time around is so different for both of us.

Hey guys!
I have been really busy working, cleaning up and organizing, and painting all the time. So tired, but coming to an end. My kid has complained lots that I can't do this or that but I don't have the time and need to get stuff done quickly. Mom guilt for sure.
I had my interview for a job up north last week and still waiting to hear back. I may also apply for a work at home position with my old company if that is available. Lots going on.

I realized this morning that since we had Monday off, our close schedule gets moved by a day. I had a lot of unnecessary stress the last 2 days. But at least I'm ahead? I'm enjoying my coffee and trying to order groceries on instacart for the 1st time.
