Lakes feeling you on that mental load thing right now. I told Steve I needed help packing because I'm sick but he did not pack a SINGLE thing I didn't explicitly tell him to, and we ended up forgetting the RnP 🙈🙈🙈. So we have nowhere to just set L down except hardwood floors. That's worse than the wubbanub! It is exhausting. We just got back from the boardwalk, an hour after bedtime. I'm trying to get the kids ready for bed and what is mh doing? Cuddling the dog. Ummm. Pick a kid and put them in pjs please. Normally he's pretty good but the last week he's been such a space case.

FIL proudly has his 'make America great again' hat on display. So many eye rolls. Like in commiseration, not because I think we need to make America great again. ETA: I try not to get political on here but that gif made me laugh. Sorry if I offended anyone. I 💙 Bob's Burgers.

meeggaannw, I AM OFFENDED. Kidding. Not even slightly offended because... no. I'm not jess213's FIL😉 Why does it take me an hour to finish one beer? I'll never get drunk at this rate. Eta: I also love Bob's Burgers.

The only major drawback to going down the Cape is that family dinners are usually on the late side. B passed out in DHs arms during cocktails, so bedtime was a bust. DD had no nap today because I've been trying to ensure she's tired at a reasonable hour, but her cousins showed up halfway through dinner and we couldn't bow out until 8:45. It's utterly ridiculous for a 3 yr old to get up at 6am and go until 9pm. ::sigh:: On a fun note, the elementary school had an amusement park fundraiser today at the park so I took B in the carrier and DD got to go on a few rides, and play some games. I was glad for a fun activity to occupy her while DH installed the cabinets he brought down. ETA: Lakes I see we're both in the disrupted bedtime boat. I like getting away, but then bedtime thing kills me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Add me to the ruined bedtime club! We went to dinner at my parents' friends' house and they were really sweet when they invited us and said we would plan to eat at 5:30 since they know I like to have my kids home at 7 for bedtime. And then no one got out of the pool until 5:45. And dinner didn't happen until 6:45. And my kids were losing it by the time we rushed out of there at 7:45. So I guess we'll make plans again when they're 12.

My inlaws decided to cut the cord at the shore since it was wasteful to pay for cable all year round when the house only gets used regularly for four months. I don't care, I'm not a tv person but mil and sil are. They just spent 30 minutes surfing Netflix and Hulu to decide what to watch.

ellabee and carrots it's been awful! Last night ds went to bed 1.5 hours late and woke up 30 minutes earlier...at 5:30. Dd woke up twice to feed instead of her usual one. 😭

orangecrush Shark Tank. Could be worse. They started watching some awful hot dog movie first. Normally they just leave hgtv on which I approve of.

I had a good day we went some outlets near the shore today. I got 2 dresses for E's baptism. Not sure which one I will wear yet but I like them both and they look great. I got 2 dresses 3 sweaters for $110. One of the dresses is nice enough for work too. It was the first time we took E shopping with us. She was so good too!

J is still awake. I can't blame late dinner or vacation. He did nap late, so maybe that's it. Whatever the reason, I need him to sleep. Now. orangecrush, I plan on watching Master of None right after I shower. Which will happen once J is asleep. So, never.

orangecrush could you send some of those sleepy vibes my way Q has been miserable all week. peaseblossom55 wow that is an awesome haul and I am glad you found some dresses that you like. I know postpartum body image is hard but having stuff that I liked that fits really made a big difference for me. Lakes ugh I hate talking about what to watch and not actually watching. HGTV is life I will watch it with you.

ambiguousmango I will, baby F has been miserable ever since her 4 months shots Monday so I'm so glad she's sleeping! It has to get better at some point, right? heybulldog we just ended with the new York episode (6?) Which I loved! So different than the regular stuff that's on tv.

meeggaannw that is a great gif. Anyone else's child making horrible grunty whining noises while sleeping lately? Q has just not been sleeping but on the rare occasions I can get him down he sounds so pitiful. I can't decide if it's him going through a leap or gas :/

Yep. I'm getting DS' cold. Time to get out the neti pot.
Going to Lane Bryant to exchange clothes. Also grocery shopping later. That's our grand plans.

I'm currently sharing a room with dd and she's pretty quiet ambiguousmango. The toddler was up at 5:30 again. Whyyyyyyy. But we were on the beach by 9 so it works for me.

My ILs are here which is the greatest blessing ever. We had another rough night and they are being incredibly helpful with chores and entertaining J. I told J we'd go get a new special stuffed friend to replace his pacifier. I really don't want to get dressed but I suppose I should follow through.

Oh good. A screw in my tire 250 miles from home on a holiday weekend! I guess better now than to get a flat halfway home.

carrots ugh that is awful. I came out to a flat Thursday morning when I was going to run errands. Luckily I had an air compressor in my trunk so I filled it up and drove to a garage down the street to patch it. Hope they can fix it for you.

We ended up with 2 new tires and paid a premium for them but at least we can safely drive home! Not how I wanted to spend that money.

A fun but exhausting weekend with my ILs! The whole extended family came over today so I felt like we were going in a million different directions. The kids all had a blast but this mama is BEAT! Also, can I whine for a second? I can't have dairy since DD2 has a dairy intolerance. Do you know how hard that is with Italian in laws?! Everyone was having baked ziti, fresh mozzarella, great grandpas meatballs (with Parmesan cheese in them), etc and I'm sitting there reheating leftover chicken from last night and having a salad.

jess213 my mom's side is Italian and there was a period where I was severely lactose intolerant. It was hell. Lactaid only helped a little. Ricotta and mozzarella were some of the worst offenders. Sorry you had to miss out

Ds was up at 5. Luckily fil and mh got up around 5:30 so I went back to sleep until 7. I wish he understood how weekends worked. Weekends mean sleeping in kid! Not getting up extra early.

B had a meh night and fussed on and off. I brought him in bed with me around 5:30 and we all slept in until 7:30. Amazingly, DD slept in too.
Now we're just playing the great traffic debate and wondering whether we should leave earlier or later. I have a feeling we're gonna be screwed either way.
