J was up 73927281 times last night, so i'm a grumpy mess. I'm laying down the law though and nursing will no longer be a source of comfort. Sorry little chicky, you're cute but I do not want to see you MOTN anymore.

I haven't read yet. We're going to lunch and a boat ride for Jack's birthday. We've been staking out the house all morning for the surveyer to do the site plan. No one can agree where the house will actually sit. Between my dad and Alex's grandpa arguing - it's 20 feet off from where I want it. It's making me rage. And cry..

Oh and after ds insisted on having a Sesame Street birthday for the last 6 months, he has now changed his theme in to the most impossible theme ever... looks like I'm going to do a lot of diy... Of course he has. What's the new theme? Emil I Lonneberga, I brought this on myself by bringing him to Astrid lindgren world in Sweden...

Hi! We went for breakfast at the diner since our usual spot had no water and was temporarily closed. Then we went to the parade in Newtown and witnessed a pretty disturbing accident when a Shriners car came speeding down a hill towards the turn in the route (i.e., right towards a crowd) with no breaks. Thank goodness Colin is so unaware of what's going on around him.
Now the boys are playing off some energy before nap and DH has some sangria waiting in the fridge for me. C'mon naptime!!

nam2013, not @peahsmama but I did it slowly. First I cut out all feedings before 4 hours after bedtime ( I nursed right at bedtime), and I'd nurse any other wake up. Then I pushed it to 5 hours. Then I only nursed 1 x per night after 5 hours. We got in a routine of nursing around 3/3:30 ish. TBH that didn't bother me and o kept that 1 nurse for a while and he rarely woke up outside of it. Then I eventually cut that one out. He cried a few times but it wasn't so bad. I think the gradually reduction helped I started around 8 months. Got to the 1 feed around 8.5 months, and stopped completely at 9.5 months. Since then (it's been 3.5 months) I'd say he's woken up maybe 3 times total, it's amazing. Of course now that I say that he'll be up tonight and I'll be cursing myself for writing that

jewels thanks. I'm trying this. Dh will try to comfort her, but she just won't budge. She calms down the minute she back with me... I just sucks sometimes being the end station. I really hope this works, I'm just so exhausted.

For the first 6-7 months, she just screamed and screamed and screamed around nap/bedtime. After started with medication we were so happy she slept, I became the biggest enabler ever. I love that she was calm enough to fall asleep while nursing, I love the snuggles, now I've created a kid that only falls asleep while nursing...

Meh, no one is to 'blame' you did what you had to do at the time, now it's just time to switch things up. FX you find something that works

Hopefully they'll be like Jack and after the adjustment, sleep through the night. Most nights anyways. How did you do it? Told him the milk was all gone. Offered him water or milk in a cup. Which he threw. It took about 3 days of him crying to sleep but then he was fine.

SweetPotato are you back home? How are things going? When will yh return? I am, thanks! My H and M actually came back yesterday to miss holiday traffic. It's so good to be home - but it seems unfair that so many people have lost everything. For now we are packing up a lot of toys to donate and figuring out when/how we can volunteer.
