Mh picked up fancy coffee beans in the city. It was a nice morning treat. I'm currently at the local bagel place down the street. The plan is to grab a couple breakfast sandwiches and head out to the state park. Mh will go fly fishing (his birthday request) and I will take the kids on the 4 mile loop. It's paved so I'll have the stroller for when ds doesn't want to walk any more.
It's nice and cool here. I wore my flannel and fleece robe this morning and it was heaven.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

That sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday Lakes! We had a lazy start to the day after M was up at 6. She threw up again and then had a terrible poop. Her stomach is stressing me out! I just got back from a run with my neighbor which was glorious bc it's only 65 degrees. I'm trying to convince H to go to the book festival to walk around for bit.

It was actually 5 miles. I forgot the walk in to the loop. Oops. And we got rained on for the last mile. Oh well. The toddler thought it was grand. carrots I forgot to post yesterday but I use to read a blog and her daughter was diagnosed with cyclical vomiting syndrome and the reoccurring vomiting made me think of that since you can't find a food link at the moment. I'm not sure of the details or if it's enough vomiting to qualify though. I think it's just random unexplained sickness? Not sure.

Hi friends! This has been one heck of a week. R has been running a fever since Wednesday, when he went to bed Thursday it was 103.9 so we called the nurses line. I was pretty sure it was teething but then it got over 102 so not so much. Took him to the doctors Friday afternoon against my better judgment and of course it is just teething with a little virus on top. So that's good, the only thing I was worried about was an ear infection but they look great. Unfortunately it looks like he is cutting 6 teeth currently.
This morning we got out as a family to a local specialty donut shop because they were doing a fundraiser for Harvey. We took them to a nearby park and hard a nice little morning, except that I forgot wet wipes AND when we left the park I left the donuts on top of the car 🤦♀️. 6 gourmet half eaten $20 donuts flying down the street. Mh was not pleased and I'm actually pretty upset with myself. So we can only go up from here I guess! Happy weekend everyone.

E was up until 12:30 last night, just crying. She had no fever, no idea why. I don't think it was teething, she would scream if we went into her room. I finally got her to fall asleep on my bed and transferred her into the crib. She is napping now and hopefully gets in a long nap. I'm so sleepy. It's so cold here. I had to put on socks it does not make me happy. I need to go buy socks for E that fit her this afternoon. H is out now redoing the caulking in the bathroom at our rental property. I hope it doesn't take very long. We have no specific plans for the weekend. I'm actually going to go lay down and nap. I did some cleaning after E went down so I deserve a nap.

Turns out M's random puke was not random. The stomach bug also took down H and DS yesterday and I heard from one of M's classmates that their whole family got it Friday/Saturday. Crossing my fingers it doesn't come for me today. My girl is asleep on my chest for the first time in months and DS has been asleep for 13 hours.

The baby has gifted me two nights of good sleep, up once between 4:30-5:30. Thank goodness because I was suffering with all the late night shenanigans lately. I swapped out the bathroom soap for fall scents. I'm loving the "Autumn Spice & Clementine" from b&bw. I'm trying to resist pulling out the flannel sheets. pibblemom I think I forgot to comment the other day but I'm sorry work is crazy and I hope things slow down fast!

If your sibling was having their birthday party at 3, would you ask to come over two hours early to put your baby down for a nap in their nursery even though that's when their kid naps and will be using said nursery?
Tell me how to feel J17.

Anyone else have issues with Their baby being too distracted for bottles or nursing? E has no problems siting in the high chairs for meals. It's so hard getting her to sit still for a bottle. At least she slept through the night.

Obviously it's sil so it's just another annoying thing in a long line of annoying cracker eating things so I know I'm not rational about the little things. I told her she could set the pnp up somewhere but I really don't want to have to entertain them for two hours when I should be doing party prep. Bah. ETA: don't you think your 2 month old is going to fall asleep in the car that close to naptime and ruin his nap anyway? It's an hour drive. I'd aim for a car nap personally and just deal with any baby antics.

I always try to plan travel around nap time too, even if it means we arrive early or late.

So I feel awful I don't even know how it happened. E now tries to let go when she stand. She was holding onto to the couch she let go, she fell straight back and hit her head. Of course she was screaming and crying. Our carpet is very soft but still. It was almost naptime so I kept her up and extra hour to make sure she was ok. No bump or anything. I feel like the worst parent.

Today I have consumed: coffee, an untold number of homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, french fries, and three chicken nuggets. Oh. And two mugs of tea. Healthy eating will resume tomorrow. On the upside, there are no more cookies left to eat 😬

peaseblossom55 I'm so so sorry E fell. I know how scary that is and I really hate that it's a constant part of this phase. They still seem pretty fragile at this age but it's a normal part of learning to walk and not at all a reflection of your parenting. I asked our pediatrician what I needed to look for when DS had falls and having a list of things to be aware of really helped with my anxiety every time he fell. Of course I don't remember any of it so I'm going to add it to my list of questions for M's next visit.

Lakes I definitely should have added a disclaimer that it depends on the family member! Some siblings would spend the time helping and others would expect us to be entertaining them when I need that extra time to prep. And agreed that with a 1 hour drive, I'd definitely utilize a car nap. Your SIL remains the worst.

Normally I am so good at catching her. I did look online and she has been acting normal.

Lakes, I vote the same as carrots, if the nursery is being used I think thats odd, the extra time is annoying depending on the person but isn't necessarily rude. peaseblossom55, I'm sorry about E falling, its hard when they start testing the waters for walking and they are still not ready. Go easy on yourself, as parents you can be watching them so closely and they still get hurt, happens to the best of us or in my case my toddler has a death wish and I'm clearly doing a horrible job of watching her.

Babies shoes good place to get them? Went to BRU today they had the koala kids brand there but she was between a 2 and a three. I want her to get used to wearing shoes and have something extra to keep her feet warm in the winter. Suggestions appreciated.

peaseblossom55 I did soft soled moccasins to start, like Robeez, and then StrideRite because someone gave us a gift card there for his 1st birthday. His current summer shoes are from Target. I'll probably do a similar progression with dd. I guess I should start thinking about that because it's going to be weird to show up with a baby in just socks soon right?

I don't think it's weird for a baby to be in just socks but I worry about her feet getting cold as the weather gets colder.

We have a local kids shoes store that I love and they got DS started in Pediped shoes when he was pulling up to stand. Once he was walking, he was in Pedipeds and Umis. Now we just use a Squatchi to measure his feet at home and order online. I'm planning to pick up some Freshly Picked mocs for M in their sale that starts in a couple hours. Beware: kids shoes are way more expensive than they should be!
