I just got home from my 12 week checkup. The nursing student that tried to find the heartbeat freaked me out because she couldn't find it but luckily my midwife stepped in and saved the day. All is well!

alwayscheese there is a good book out there called the bradley method - it's a great 'stand' in if you can't get to a class.

I feel like I'm on the eating schedule of a newborn- 2-3hrs after I've last eaten and I'm feeling nauseous and like I neeeeed a snack. Is this to prepare me for April?🤔

Yayyy! Every thing looks good and my dates all line up so no need to change my EDD. DH and I went out for burritos and I ate my weight in queso and chips. We also walked through target and bought a fake fiddle leaf fig for half off! Now we're just chilling at home and I'm catching up on work so I don't have to use tooooo much leave for today. I didn't take the Bradley class (nor did I have a med free birth) but I did really like the book alwayscheese! I found it really helpful as a prep tool - especially bc I had to do 90% of my labor sans epi 🙄

My symptoms eased up a little over the weekend, so naturally, my mind went into anxiety overdrive. My BFF had to nudge me and remind me that it's normal for that to happen at this point (I'm 11w4d).
Still, I'm counting the hours till my NT ultrasound on Wednesday morning. I'm hoping the PGAL brain will give it a rest after that.

Leaf 🌱 I am glad everything looked good. DH and I had a couple day dates over the summer when we were both off and DS was at daycare. They were so nice.

So cute auri! I got my DD a big sister shirt that I'm hoping to take pictures of this weekend and announce. I'm waiting for after my NT scan on Thursday and I'll be 12.5 weeks. With DD I announced earlier but wanted to wait longer this time around.

Y'all, help me decide if I should take my glucose test (and 900 blood draws) in the morning or afternoon. I can't decide which one sounds better for my day.

I would still do morning, or if you've had bad morning sickness do it at a time when you usually feel pretty good. If you throw the drink up it's an automatic fail☹️

Add not sleeping well to my list of symptoms. I am usually one of those people who sleeps all night without interruption but now I wake up 3-4 times a night. The worst part is I can't go back to sleep for about 30-45 minutes each time. Needless to say, I'm pretty much tired all day long. Lol

Ugh they are installing new flooring at work and the glue they are using smells so strong. 1. It's giving me a headache. 2. I feel like I shouldn't be breathing this in all day. They still have more to go and I'm not sure I can deal with this for much longer.

clementine, is there anywhere else you can go and work? We remodeled our house when I was pregnant with my daughter and I was really paranoid about breathing it all in.

clementine I've been emailing the local instructor, but I found out DH is not on board. Esp not for $300! Is that close to what you're paying? Having just finished nursing school, he thinks he knows everything he needs to know about birth. But i feel like he learned about it from a completely different perspective and I know he only paid the bare minimum attention because he has no desire to work in that area. 😕 ETA: I made a thread on pregnancy and going to C&P to infants, but does anyone have recommendations for online birthing classes?

They did open a few outside doors to get some air flow so it's s little better. If this headache gets worse though I'm out of here.

Yep, we're paying $300. We just had our first class last night and the other woman in the class is a nurse. She made the same point you did... that she has a medical background but is interested in learning from a new perspective. From what we talked about last night, it seems like it's so much more than just the physical aspects of birth. A lot of focus is put on preparing your mind and emotions for birth and how to relax mentally and emotionally.
