M waffled between one and two naps for a few weeks and then for the last two weeks has been solidly taking one. Whatever. Except the past three days this single nap hasn't lasted longer than 45 minutes. I. Need. A. Break. She's talking and smiling at me so I feel like an asshole for saying that. But, shit, the energy requirement for this age is more than what I currently have right now. Hi, life twin.

So J has barely nursed again today. He figured out that when we nurse in his glider it makes him sleepy so he fights it hard or just bites me when I attempt to nurse him. I've been trying to nurse him in the living room with the tv on so he knows it's not nap time but he still just bites me. I tried pumping and barely got anything.
This is so frustrating.
I can't wait to stop BFing forever!
ETA question. I have that wedding in a month and I'll be away from J Wednesday and Thursday night (like dinner time and I'll be home after he goes to bed) and then Friday night until we come home late Saturday night. I don't have much of a freezer stash. I think I have about 20oz frozen at this point. I would like to get a couple more bottles. Will adding a pump session in the morning help? Like, I'm literally getting drops. Clearly I don't pump a whole lot.

waitwhat is it possible that he's refusing because he's not getting much out? ETA: I hope that didn't read asshole-y. It probably did and was the last thing you want to read. I'm sorry. I was just wondering because I get bit in the beginning before letdown and again once she's not getting enough as quickly as she would like it. We're down to 2, sometimes 3 daytime feedings because of it. Edit (again): not because I'm not letting her feed...because she's distracted/annoyed/whatever and refusing.

waitwhat I usually find a morning pump gives me a decent amount. But any pump that you add consistently should give you a bit after you do it for a few days.

waitwhat is it possible that he's refusing because he's not getting much out? it's possible but I don't think that's it. When he does actually nurse, I get a letdown pretty quickly. Every time. And I know pumping does not indicate how much of a supply you have so I'm hoping that I'm just stressing out and it's negatively affecting my supply. I dunno.

I actually had this thought as well. Not exclusively but maybe WCM during the day while still nursing at night and mornings. By the wedding he'll be 11 months and like 1 week.

waitwhat the ped at L's 9mo appt said we're fine to start WCM at 10 mo. I think you'd be fine just nursing overnights and mornings since he will be so close to a year. I'm like you, I was KU at this point and my supply was tanking so weaning was nbd. With L she's still nursing a ton so I need to think through how to wean her. I basically feel like a newb because I have no idea how to do it. I also have a decent frozen stash and need to think through using that up.

The weaning process makes me nervous this time around. Are you planning to introduce WCM at 10 months old then?

I'm really a PW tonight. Oh well.
I just realized the 8-9-10 month sleep regression is a thing. It seems that this might be the explanation for the newborn sleep we've been experiencing this last week or so. That and teething and we have a recipe for disaster. What I've read says it can last 3-6 weeks. JFC I don't know if I can handle 5 more weeks of this shit.

Girlfriend is good with sippy cups! I have a lot of frozen milk that needs to get used up, so I'll use that before making the switch. My goal is to pump at work until 1 then just nurse at nights until she's ready to wean. I think I'll just continue to send cups of bm to dc until that's gone, but I have close to 800oz so it might take us a while.

Would be fine moving past this stage at anytime now. I really would love to sleep again.

I've been drinking a lot more wine than usual.

Hiiiii
Oh sleep regression. Awesome. There has got to be an end to these nights sometime. J gave me a 5 hour stretch last night, 1:30-6:30am, and I felt like a brand new woman.
Imagine all the worlds problems I could solve if I had 8 hours IN A ROW!

Combined with the leap and her out of nowhere deciding it's cool to pull up/stand/climb she just can't shut her brain down. 😴🍷

Well in period news; I got mine today. It's been a lovely 19 months.
All I have are my thick post partum pads in the house. I feel like I'm 12 years old again wearing pads. Yay.

Lol vino! That's the best. Those are so uncomfortable. Mine also seemed to somehow get wedged in my butt so I would be waking around with a gigantic thick wedgie all day.
