Drives me crazy when people use the word nauseous when they really mean nauseated! Comes up a lot due to pregnancy.... Yes, it is pedantic. ETA-not picking on anyone here

easternshoregirl, every single time I go to type nauseous I think "this should be nauseated...will people think I'm being stuck up if I say nauseated?" then shrug and write nauseous hahahaha

ETA-not picking on anyone here "As you say, the distinction that has been taught is that nauseous means “causing nausea” but nauseated means “feeling or suffering from nausea”. So if a person says “I am nauseous”, a purist might reply “Yes, you are; misusing words like that makes your listeners feel sick”.
