I am pumped about today for so many reasons...Friday, pay day, college football has began, it's September, and we have a long weekend ahead. Woo hoo!! Random question...has everyone else gotten their tdap shot yet? I haven't gotten mine yet and dr google tells me it should be done by 36 weeks. I'm not scheduled to go back until 37 weeks so I'm debating calling the office to ask about it. britt, I hit my one month mark tomorrow. So exciting!

thatgirlrachel I got mine when I was 28 weeks. They did with the Rhogam shot so maybe that's why I got it early? I'm anxious to get my flu shot now. Have to work a half day to wrap up some things since I was off yesterday. Hopefully the morning goes by fast. DS's daycare is closed for faculty development so grandma is on her way over to play. He's so excited.

A friend of mine who just had a baby said she didn't get hers until she was in the hospital to be induced (same OBGYN). I mean, I guess anytime before giving birth will work, but I don't understand why they wait so late. I'm going to call just to ask.

thatgirlrachel, I haven't gotten mine yet. I still have a couple more weeks until 36 but if I have time this weekend it is definitely on my to-do list.

thatgirlrachel I got my TDAP shot around 29 weeks. I would definitely call your doctor to see if you can get it sooner rather than later. I thought I heard they had changed the guidelines and now recommend it before 36 weeks. The CDC guidelines recommend it between 27 and 36 weeks: www.cdc.gov/features/tdap-in-pregnancy/index.html

Today is a holiday for me. Dropping DD at the nanny then getting coffee and a pedicure. Followed by Costco and Party City, alone! Maybe I'll take a nap today too. 😊

Normal friday over here. It feels good to be wrapped up for the week! Monday isn't a holiday where we live, but I'm going to take the day off anyways - I am American after all DS still has school on Monday, so DH and I are thinking of going out for a nice brunch, since neither of us are working. Another little date before the baby comes. I want waffles from our Scandinavian place. 😀 As for the weekend, DS is going on a play date tomorrow with a school friend at this indoor playground/gym thing. Should be fun! Sunday will likely consist of DH taking DS swimming and maybe a movie. I am sure DS will want either Moana or Cars...he loves both.

I just got my TDAP this morning. I had to ask about it, which I thought was weird.
We're going shopping for a washer & dryer this weekend, as well as the remaining necessities for 2.0.
H asked what I wanted to do on Monday. I forgot it was a holiday and he was off.

thatgirlrachel, my OB doesn't do the TDAP themselves, they just ask you to go get it somewhere that offers it. I went last week to the Target minute clinic to get mine.

thatgirlrachel I also had mine the same day I did the glucose test (29 weeks). My only concern with doing it later would be if labor set in and baby didn't have enough time to get your antibodies.

thatgirlrachel, what Taitai said. I received mine several weeks ago (I'm 36 weeks on Sunday) and I questioned them about it because I knew I got it around 36 weeks with DS. They told me the recommendations had changed and it is now recommended earlier to give more time for the antibodies to build in baby.

Tonight is the home opener for football. We are going. I'm taking a toddler to a HS football game. He should be going to bed by halftime, so this should be fun. I wanted to ask MIL to watch him at home and go by myself (so that - you know - I could actually watch the game instead of chasing DS around because LOLNO at a toddler sitting in the stands for an entire game), but DH just absolutely loves it when I bring DS down onto the field after the game. DS loves it too, so so much. This *could* be the only game we make it to this year, depending on how I feel as the month progresses, so I know it is good to take DS. Oy. On the plus side, the weather is PERFECT football weather. And I think at least my FIL will be going and will help me with DS. If MIL goes she's a huge help, so I'm really hoping she goes, too. Fingers crossed.......

thatgirlrachel I would definitely ask. My doctor says there are benefits to the baby if you get it around that 26-28 week mark

I also got my Tdap at 28 weeks, along with Rhogam and GD test. CoachTsWife Good luck tonight! DS is feeling much better today! The fever is gone, and he's eating and playing again. He does however still have a rash on his face. It looks worse than yesterday, but doesn't seem to be bothering him. I bought a different kind of dryer sheet last week (Gain as opposed to off brand, it was on sale), so I was maybe thinking it could be that? Doesn't really explain yesterday though... I'm currently rewashing all his clothes and blankets that were recently dried with the new sheets. Any ideas?

gamergirl The rash could just be part of his virus. Id just keep the area clean and Maybe put some aquaphor on it if need be. It should clear in a few days. I'm unsure if the new dryer sheets are a coincidence or not. Any new laundry product makes me break out in hives just from smelling it, so it could be a combo of both. TL:DR - keep an on eye on it, but it should be fine

I saw nachos instead of randos as this thread title. So that's pretty much how pregnant my brain is these days...

Had a splitting headache yesterday that did not go away with Tylenol/rest, so I had to get my BP and pee checked at triage. Luckily, all was fine--no protein in my pee and BP looked really good. Just a migraine. I know it can come on fast, but I'm starting to get hopeful that I won't develop pre-e this time. Keeping my fingers crossed!

rachydc Thank you! That makes sense. I figured yesterday is was just due to his fever, so I was surprised to see it worse today without a fever. I gave him a low dose of Benadryl before nap, just to see if it would help or not, in case it is allergy related. Hoping he's a little less red when he wakes up.

I told H I would take his car today and put air in the low tire and put gas in it. Well, that was all fine and dandy until literally everything went wrong with my simple plan.
First, the air thingie didn't take debit cards, so I had to pop into Kroger first and get some random crap (see end of post). Got cash back, and 4 quarters.
Then, it starts raining as I'm leaving the store. Air pump is outside.
Get to air pump, and for some reason my tire wouldn't inflate. I'm not sure if it's possible to let air out, but something wasn't going right. Thankfully, the really low tire pumped just fine, it was the other side that just could have used a top off I may have messed up.
Then I go to get gas, and I have 0 Kroger points. So I only get $.03 off a gallon. AND the gas pump dribbled when I pulled it out so when I closed my spring loaded gas flap thingie, it splattered on my clothes.
A simple task, I tell you. So, I'm celebrating a job mostly not well done by having some white cheddar popcorn and a Pepsi for dinner. 0 fucks.

He woke up more red than he was before nap. It resembles pictures I saw earlier today (while googling, of course) of fifth disease. Doesn't sound like anything serious, so I'm not worried. Does anyone have experience with this? Sounds like it just needs to run it's course, and he should be past the worst of it.

gamergirl I don't have any experience with fifths but you may want to get him checked out by a Dr. since it can be contagious and it's something that you don't want during pregnancy.

Does anyone have experience with this? Sounds like it just needs to run it's course, and he should be past the worst of it. DS had roseola (which I guess is also called sixth disease) when he was about 1yr old. He had it all over his body and face - looks kind of like what your guy has. The rash came after a high fever and the rash lasted for a week. Rash didn't bother DS at all. Our pedi said it was absolutely nothing to worry about and would go away on its own. We were just supposed to make sure he didn't show any signs of having difficulty with breathing. Hope the rash goes down soon - just just wanted to let you know that rashes after viral fevers in toddlers is very common and often not cause for alarm. DS will still get little rashes sometimes after a fever, but they always go away.
