Question: how would you ladies feel if we were to password-protect our board.
I know it sucks that that means friendly faces from other boards can no longer lurk along etc. BUT it also keeps things a bit more private. I was fine posting (headless) bumppics but posting pics of D. makes me feel uncomfortable if I am honest. Especially since somehow tapatalk can/will still show pics at random as thread illustration (only visible if you got your settings a certain way btw) even if you poofed said pic from the thread. I thought deleting the pic from your tapa profile uploads would do the trick but that also doesnt seem to work to keep it from occasionally showing as thread pic. Ditto for using an external image host and removed the link (I tried this but pic still showed up as thread pic which really puzzled me.. tapa saves a copy somewhere?? Or maybe it was in my cache still...I didn't check back ).
Aaaanyway long story short.. how bout a password to limit accessibility to A17. Without wanting to come of as a special snowflake.. I personally won't be sharing pics of D. here often or at all unless I feel tis less of an open, free-for-all place. Password-protecting will give me a (hopefully not false) sense of knowing a bit better who can access/see the pics as I trust you ladies heh 😊
Discuss?

I am good with password protecting. I get worried about sharing photos too and didn't know all the stuff you said about Tapatalk.

I'm good with password protecting - it's what my other bmb did and we feel much more comfortable sharing pics and sensitive posts.

Great idea muscari, not a special snowflake at all. I have the same feelings and are much happier with a password protected board. My other BMB has that and I love it.

I support password protecting! I was actually thinking of suggesting it, I like the extra feeling of security.

I know I don't play here often because I suck. I would be more willing to share pictures with password protection. And hopefully I will remember to participate more.

Sounds like most are in favor of password protection.. now to figure out how to reach out to an admin and get that sorted 😊 But first D. wants some more boob time lol!

I messaged the BMBs global mod Cher asking to add a password to our board. Now I'm just wondering, how do we 'distribute' the password to our BMB members?? Especially those who haven't read this post, or haven't been on in a bit.. I would hate for them to think something happened or whatever. Suggestions?

My last BMB did a group message on here sending it to everyone who expressed interest. If others aren't as active, we can have an announcement that says to message you for the password. My other bmb also elected a second mod as a backup in case the main one wasn't immediately available in case something came up.

Do we want one, would it be handy to have one once we pw protect the board? I guess maybe yes? I must be too tired to think properly hahaha that I didn't think of a group PM and/or announcement lol. Good one! 😊

I see that other pw protected boards (like Feb 2017) just have a message saying pm whoever for the password.

Hi guys! I got your pm! I keep meaning to intro here because I have an A17 baby. So, hi!
Just to be clear, do you want to password protect the whole board or add a password protected board? My bmb (N13) has a regular board and a password protected board, we put sensitive info on the password protected board and the more mundane stuff (like randoms) on our regular board. I will say it's been great because it has kept our board alive 4years later. We have had people intro when our kids were older, which has been nice.
Either way, let me know what you want to do and I'll take it to the smart people that make tech stuff like passwords happen. I might be a little slow to respond because I'm out of town right now, but I never sleep (thanks, newborn) so I will check messages/tags at some bizarre time!

Hi Cher! Congratulations on your squish! And welcome to A17 - I hope you will hang around ☺ I hadn't thought of splitting the board in both a pw protected and open part. That's a great idea imho as it keeps social and open for friendly lurkers and new people while still giving us the privacy of a closed part for more sensitive stuff (and photos - gimme all the NB photos! 😊)? What do y'all think?

Personally I would prefer to have everything in one spot, just cuz I feel like that would be easier to keep track of. But I don't have strong feels either way, so whatever works for everyone is fine.

I don't really care either way.
Will we have to enter the password each time or does it save in Tapatalk?

That was my first thought and concern as well. But I do like the idea of having part 'open' for friendly lurkers etc as well. We could always give it a go and see whether it works for us and if not combine the two into one pw-protected one after a while?

I don't really care either way. Will we have to enter the password each time or does it save in Tapatalk? Dunno about tapa tbh but on the website you just enter it once. Unless you clear your cookies or login from another device. I assume tapa works the same tho- having to enter it time and time again would be annoying! Maybe one of those who are already on a pw protected BMB can answer this properly. 😀

Yeah pw saves in tapa so you don't need to enter every time
