For those that have kids in Pre-K are they going to K next year or doing 2yrs of Pre-k? Two years of pre-k. She's well past the September 1st cutoff anyway, but additionally she's still catching up from being so early. I had no idea the effects would last this long, but she's a very young three compared to her peers.

I'm sorry kamakaziartist. But I didn't see "burn it down" on your list, you may want to add that. Happy birthday, yummeecookee!! DNW cake vending machine unless I get a massive raise so I can afford to constantly replace my wardrobe.

Sunny41 Cadence will start pre-k in January. Then she will do 6 months in pre-k and 1 year in the advanced pre-k, which is for the kids who miss the age cutoff for kinder. So technically approx. 2 years of pre-k. I think.....Jan.-Aug. then Aug. - Aug., so yeah, almost 2 years.

For those that have kids in Pre-K are they going to K next year or doing 2yrs of Pre-k? Colin will most likely go to K next year, it's just a question of whether he goes to the local elementary school or to Montessori (i.e., so we can delay making a real decision for yet another year). CT cut-off is December 31st.

flamingo, I feel like C needs to be a flamingo for Halloween! Also, a friend had a flamingo themed first birthday party that they called a "flamingle". Adorable.

Today is our annual "picnic" at work, hosted by the landlord of our office park. And by "picnic", I mean a couple dozen tents of food, beer, live music and about 1,000 tenants. I blocked my calendar a couple weeks ago so I can hang out for an hour or two and eat too much. It's absolutely gorgeous and I'm going to consider this "carbo loading" for Saturday's race, so I'm in it to win it.

For those that have kids in Pre-K are they going to K next year or doing 2yrs of Pre-k? Evie will stay in daycare for another year, then go to preschool next fall. Preschool is only half day here, so I'm putting off the logistical nightmare of getting her too and from as long as possible.

I have a girlfriend upstate who lives on a culdesac where everybody is approximately the same age. When each of the wives turned 40, they decorated the front yard with plastic flamingos and a sign that said welcome to the flock.

Just called the dc because I couldn't find my kid on the camera. She wasn't in the preschool class or the pre-k class. Apparently her teacher is running late so she is in the APK class. Don't freak a mom out like that!

Thanks ladies. I knew some had a later cutoff but I couldn't tell if others were pushing the cutoff. E is in a 4yr old class at dc which is basically pre-pre-k. I'm more comfortable with this now since there are a lot of kids (irl) that are in the same boat as him.

Same - although his class is the same kids he's been with since birth. Because of the October 1 cutoff he seems so old in his class. There are 4 or 5 of them that are almost 4, then a whole bunch that just turned 3 in June& July. It's such a difference at this age!

flamingo,Whats the costume? yummeecookee, Happy Birthday! kamakaziartist,That sounds like fresh hell! Good luck! cagoldi I don't think I said it yesterday but I am so happy your test results were good. I hope that gives you a little relief. Do they do anything for the primary immunodeficiency, or is that the Fibro? So, the best way to explain it is like pieces of my immune system are missing. So I'm much more prone to other infections, disease, cancer, etc. There is no cure, just treatment which would be infusions. I'm not experiencing anything terrible symptoms or infections right now so we're going to hold on doing anything. My Immunologist is going to get approval for my infusions in case I need them we can start right away, and I don't have to wait for them to jump through all the hoops with insurance. I wouldn't say it's great, but given the choice but I'm less worried about than I was at the thought of more autoimmune illness.

Sunny41 our cutoff is September 1st, so ry will definitely do another year of pre-k before kinder. Landon is a 9/15 bday so we contemplated pushing his start date for kinder, and in so glad we didn't. He's one of the older kids in his class, but I think academically and maturity wise he would have struggled if we started him early.

I was the youngest in my grade because of homeschooling. I skipped a grade. I started high school at 13. Even being a girl and maturing earlier than boys, I hated being the youngest. I'm glad both boys miss the cut off (Aug 31st) and will be one of the older ones. Jack I might push to start early just because it's only 5 days but if it's a hassle, I won't worry about it.

cagoldi, what kind of infusions? My aunt, and one who was diagnosed with brain cancer, does ketosis infusions – one is B-17, and I don't remember what the other is, but she really feels like they've fortified her through some of the more damaging effects of chemo & radiation. They aren't covered by her insurance, I know the out-of-pocket cost is very high.

Happy Birthday, yummeecookee! Hope it's a great one! Burn it down, kamakaziartist. I do not envy your day "off" N is doing 2 years of preschool starting in a couple weeks. Around here, it's a Sept 1st cutoff for school. She's been in the Preschool room at daycare since the day she turned 3, but she will be going to a separate preschool 2 mornings a week for the school year.

Morning. I dropped the kids at my parents and am at the office for a bit today. We got tickets to the Gophers football game tonight. I can't wait! We try to get to at least 1 a year but it's usually in like November when it's freezing, so it'll be nice to go with nice weather. We're taking the kids and N is super excited. And I think we have good seats too!
Traffic is going to be a nightmare. There's a Vikings, Twins, Gophers and minor league baseball game in the cities today. Plus the state fair. No bueno.

I just switched doctors -- back to my old GP who now is part of a concierge program. I thought it was going to be a nightmare filling out all the forms and transferring records, but thankfully it was the easiest thing I've ever done --and the new office did most of it for me! I've been dealing with a lot of muscle pain in different parts of my sides. I keep thinking that it's because Charlie is a monster baby and lifting and carrying him places is killing me, but it's not getting any better, so I hope they can figure out if it's anything more serious. I really hope it's not. It's been such a stress to me for the last month.

I'm at the Allergist's office now and then no plans for the rest of the day. I want to be lazy but I really should work out and finally settle on what I'm going to make for X's party on Saturday.
