Ugh, my blood pressure was high at my dr appointment this morning. I have to check it every day this week and go from there. I hope it was just a fluke. I hope it was a weird one time thing too. Do you have any history of high blood pressure? I would hope your recent weight loss and gym competition would have resulted in a healthy BP.

I'm going to Target on my lunch to get the F away from this place, and hope it helps my headache. Although it will not help my bank account!

tgrimes I missed this weekend on the board but I'm glad to hear a good update. Everything looks so scary down there. T&P! wineallthetime I hope your BP was a fluke. Seems like it would be good especially now since you've been working hard eating right & working out more than usual. I hope it goes down!

I thought my exercise and diet would have helped to prevent high bp. One thing, I have been sprinkling salt on food more for added flavor. Nothing crazy though!

tgrimes so glad to hear thinks are ok for now on the home front. Hopefully with the water down for now he can get to his parents. At least then he would have extra hands. wineallthetime I hope it was a fluke! I have high BP and take daily meds for it. I stupidly quit taking the meds for a while and started having trouble again. I'm on my 5th day back on them and my BP was still 150/105 this morning. Hopefully it will start coming down soon!

I got most things done around the house. In the middle of it all, my top choice for daycare for M2 called with an opening. This would be great had I not already signed him up to start elsewhere. They both seem great so I'm not sure what to do. They both have pros and cons that's hard to choose which is more important. Ugh.

Have you been eating a lot more chicken? That's the most common source of sodium in most Americans' diet. They often add salt, water, and broth. They also put the body in a tank of salt water (among other things) during slaughter/processing.

I'm killing it at work today. So productive!
I am nervous to pick up C today though. Today is the first day of school so he is staying back in his class while his friends move up. He was not happy and was adamant that he is in the new group. I hope it goes ok.
DH is working late every night this week so I'm flying solo. Mix of excitement to watch my own tv and dread of dealing with child on my own every night.

You develop a routine and I find it's actually easier when it's just me and E since it's more streamlined. And YES to having the remote all to yourself!

mwhip I find it's sometimes easier on your own because you don't have to pay attention to an other adult. I mean when Dh and I are both there we also want to talk to each other 😜.

She listens better and we have our own way of doing things that just work better for us.

I've heard/seen this a bit when people "clean up their diet" and start eating more chickens in the process. Anyway, something to pay attention to if it continues to be higher than you like.

Hi from the pedicure chair! We hit up a playground for a bit before the museum opened. It's nice seeing Colin run around freely - he tends to be very cautious and linger near us. He was running clear across the playground without warning. Thank goodness DH was there too, or maybe I wouldn't see it as a positive LOL.
The boys had a blast at Stepping Stones! I feel bad for never taking Col when he was younger but honestly, he still has years of fun visits there, now that DH is on board. Chase was a trooper, too. His butt never touched the stroller. I mean, his little legs were shaking towards the end of our visit, but he wasn't going to surrender. He is so fearless in crowds in a way Col never has been. It's odd still to me how different they are.
Anyhow, the boys - DH included - are napping so I'm out getting my toes done and running a few errands. The big daycare room switch is tomorrow, so we have lots to do tonight to get ready!!

nam2013, how long is your reno supposed to take? We really hope to be back in our house the last week before the last week of October. After that things will need to be done, but the major things should be done. According to my parents, this is wishful thinking.

tgrimes i was refreshing all morning for your update. I hope they can get to your ILs today. Pls keep us posted. The images of the rescuer carrying out the 2 kids and the one of the little boy sitting on the counter with his stuffed animal broke me last night. This is unreal.

lahdeedah I have been toying with moving my boys for what seems like ever. These are such hard decisions! I know you all are dying to know what I purchased. I bought like 5 different pairs of white jeans (all returnable) and 2 different white tops. Hopefully one of them works!! I may go by Kohls at some point and see if they have any tops I can wear too, just in case nothing works. At least 1 pair of the jeans should fit - They are the old navy RockStar skinny jeans and I am wearing a different pair of those that fit perfectly today so I'm not too worried on that front.

Have you guys seen this? It seems to me like she's doing blackface. I know she's pretty tan but this seems OTT. ETA: there were more pictures of her dressed like this.

I actually didn't find much for C! I was conflicted about what size to get her for next summer and I wasn't really thrilled with the patterns in the stuff they *did* have in her size. I might go back online when things calm down and see if anything catches my eye.

Maybe they retouched it to make her look darker? Hard to tell from this pic. I'm not going to credit her or her family with being culturally sensitive enough to understand why they shouldn't do black face so who knows?

I think the magazine did it. I just don't understand the wording of her being the new First Lady, mainly because....she isn't.

MH thinks he might be able to find a way to his parents' house. After Hayden wakes up from his nap he's going to make a break for it.
