DH and I started watching Comrade Detective last night on Amazon. There are only 6 episodes, so we'll probably finish it up tonight or tomorrow. But it's interesting and different.

Did anybody watch The Good Doctor? I thought it was okay, but I'm not sure I'm going to like they way they portray the autism aspects of the character.

We're going to try SEALS and Young Sheldon. The more promos I see for SEALS the more it looks like it's just gonna be the David Boreanaz show. All the commercials I've seen the only man's face you can see is his. Don't get me wrong, I love me some David Boreanaz, it just seemed a little over-the-top .

I liked it but I'm a sucker for medical shows. I admittedly don't know a ton about autism so I don't know if they are doing a good job with that part or not. I plan to give it a chance.

We watched The Good Doctor last night. I'm torn. I think we'll give it a few more episodes before fully deciding.
I may give Young Sheldon a try this afternoon, since I am a BBT fan.

I'm watching the good doctor now and I'm like appalled. Between the rabbit stuff and how security keeps tackling him..

I only made it through the first half of SEAL Team, so it might have gotten better, but it just wasn't keeping my attention.

Did anyone watch Pure Genius last year? I was really bummed that didn't get picked up again. I really enjoyed Pure Genius, was it the most accurate...I'd feel comfortable saying no. But it was such a good happy cry show!! I didn't think I'd like the billionaire guy the first few episodes but I ended up wanting to hug him like a little brother. I was really disappointed they didn't renew it.

I had really mixed feelings about The Good Doctor... will probably give it another shot
Atypical on Netflix was phenomenal if you want a show that portrays Autism. It's about a boy with Autism in HS who decides he wants to get a girlfriend. It's just about the family dynamics, etc. it's just really well done, and funny.
I liked Young Sheldon enough, and Me, Myself & I to watch again. I can't wait for the xmen one with Fred from Angel... and

jewel - I don't know if the format of Me, Myself & I is going to hold up, but I LOVE his family. I love that his step dad is kind and inclusive and "gets" him. I love that his step brother wasn't an ass to him. It was such a positive portrayal of a blended family, it warmed my heart.

I had such an amazing relationship with my step dad growing up and I feel like that is so rare and so nice to see.

Just came back to say I am loving The Orville! It's like Star Trek: TNG meets Stargate SG-1 with fart jokes. It's nice to have some fun sci-fi when so much is dark and intense and dramatic nowadays. Also on episode 3 of Star Trek: Discovery and it's really cool. I was skeptical, but the third episode is really good. My husband torrented the episode because I wasn't sure yet if we wanted to sign up for the subscription, but I think we're going to.

I will be the voice of dissent and say I like The Good Doctor. It does need a little work but as the show goes on, I think it will work the little things out. I think the show is emphasizing his social aspects of autism more so than they need to but I think that is the whole point. They are pushing it further than seems necessary but we will see if they keep that up. I have a few members of my family on the spectrum. My nephew is 10 and he watched the show. He feels it’s empowering to watch. It gave him a confidence boost. Whether or not it’s super accurate as far as whether or not it’s possible, I don’t think it matters. It’s a tv show that makes at least 1 little ASD boy hopeful. I also like the writing so far. 🤷🏻♀️

My nephew has never been more confident of his abilities in life. I don’t think being a doctor is for him but he thinks if someone else can do it (fictional or not) he can do whatever he wants in life. He also thinks it’s cool that someone like him could have the possibility of saving a life. He knows it’s not real but his whole outlook is now “why not?.”

I like Wisdom of the Crowd. It's not great at explaining the computer science but it's a good show. It's easy to watch and I'm going to start the Netflix series Mindhunter soon. It's about the first FBI profilers. John Douglas spoke at my college when I was in school and it was fascinating.

Those who are watching Mindhunter, who do you think the guy we keep seeing at the beginning of each episode is? I'm thinking Ted Bundy but I'm not sure.

reginaphalange8 , I think it's supposed to be the {Spoiler} BTK killer. BTK worked for ADT and lived/killed in Kansas

On The Good Doctor, the slow as hell, usually with minimal dialogue, flashbacks to Shaun's past that always seem to happen in the middle of an urgent situation are getting a bit annoying.
