Do me a solid if you're mobile and click through to the web view to vote in the poll for SCIENCE!
I'm just curious who's done and who's not.

I voted, where's my sticker?!
ETA Voted definitely not. We're building to add bedrooms, relatively young(30, 31 come Tuesday, but still) and it somehow feels we're not complete yet.

I voted probably yes, but it's closer to definitely yes. We just haven't taken any permanent precautions, yet, so there is always a chance of a 3rd.

I'm done. #1 I'm old. #2 I can't afford anymore. #3 I'm out of bedrooms.

Probably yes. Unless things drastically change in the next year or two, we're done. I don't think I can take another birth/recovery. I'm actually shocked I went through a second one.

I had two difficult pregnancies, a nicu stay, two terrible sleepers, I was really close to not coping anymore, people are going to judge us so hard if we have a third...

I hope that won't color you choice to continue to have more (if you want to grow your family). Only you and your h can know what works best for you.

We know the first year is hard, we also know it's only a year and after that is a lifetime of memories. Plus even though Dd was/is though, I genuinely love love love the newborn/first year phase ☺️.

I'm that crazy person who LOVES the baby phase. Even as difficult as #2 was, I'm already missing it (and he's only 9 months old). So in a perfect world, I'd love another. And if I started earlier I might be answering this differently.
However, we are definitely done - 2 reasons
1) MH travels so much that a 3rd person to care mostly alone for might kill me 2) I was sooooo lucky to have 2 babies after 40 that were healthy. I don't want to press my luck.
It makes me a little sad, TBH

sing2phins, why do you ask? Are you thinking about having another?

I'm a probably yes. I likely won't have any more biological kids, but I would be open to a foster or adoption situation if one ever crossed my path.

jewels and nam2013 I also love the nb/baby stage. I told DH that I would have 20 kids to keep as babies and the give them away after they turn on, jokingly of course.

Wait, you're going to have another or not? Because you said you voted definitely yes (in answer to are you done having kids), but your explanation sounds like you're not done.

jewels, even though C was a harder baby than J, I still loved pregnancy and the early stages of things. If I were 10 years younger, I think we'd have (or at least tried for) two more.

sing2phins , why do you ask? Are you thinking about having another? I'm just nosy. I mean, I think about it, but realistically, the answer is no, and I voted definitely yes. It does make me a little sad, but I would have needed to be pregnant again by now if we were going to have a third - I turned 40 in February. Also, we spend $$$$$$ on daycare for 2, and if we had a third, the kindergarten pay raise would disappear. Also, as much as I love the tiny newborn snuggles, I think about going back to all of the rest of the stuff that comes with it and I want to run away. I did love being pregnant, though. But the real bottom line is, my marriage would not survive a third. I can be married with two or divorced with three, so.

I said 'probably yes' but like Guster, I think it's closer to 'definitely'. DH has said he is open to discussing a third if it's something I really really want, but I don't know that I want it badly enough to pursue it. Two is a good number for us for a lot of reasons. Like jewels I also love the baby phase...That is what makes a third so tempting. But...le sigh...they inevitably grow up.

I just told one of my work girlfriend's who's thinking about having another but hates the baby phase that she should have a baby and I'd take it for the first few months then give it back to her

Although for everyone saying the time has passed to have another, I just want to say, B was born 6 weeks before my 43rd birthday. And I conceived him naturally, only trying for a few months. Just sayin' But in your case, I do see all your reasons for not having another.

Like Guster I'm more towards "definite" but there has been no snipping. Why can't MH understand that real men get their balls snipped? And like dapostrophe if there were anymore it'd be down the road in a foster/adopt situation.
