Great idea!
It is almost 4 weeks and I am still not right!
I am having a hard time with sleep, MH and I need to figure out a better system. But at least my daughter is sleeping better so that helps. About a week ago I stopped having hot and cold flashes but my abdomen is still sore and I am still bleeding which annoys me.
MH is good and our families were here for the first few weeks. But we both start work again soon so we need to get a little more help. Right now we have our schedules so we can avoid daycare.
Sleeping and eating are a struggle. I just don't want to eat anything heavy and even forget to during the day.
I can't remember much because of lack of sleep but I know one of the kids did something awesome!

mrshall1027 I'm moving towards EPing as well. I EPed my first and it worked out well for both of us. Donovan has a good latch but Evangeline doesn't and between breastfeeding, topping off with pumped milk, and pumping again, it's way too time consuming. They've also had nice weight gain with mostly pumped milk which makes me feel like it's the right thing. I'd rather use the extra time for additional baby snuggles.

yoshijo I'm so sorry to hear about your dad in hospice. That alone is enough to deal with, plus having A born that same day, and all pregnancy / post partum hormones... you are a champ! I'm glad you are already on board with a therapist and Zoloft. I'll keep your family in my thoughts. 💛 mrshall1027 I say do what you need to do- I know lots of moms who EP and are much happier. If it makes your life easier and makes you happier, it's a no brainer for me. 💛 thinkchocolate05 I'm so sorry to hear that your mom isn't coming anymore. That's such a crappy feeling and sad that they would do this. Sending you lots of hugs. 💛 jt2378 I'm sorry you're feeling down- after everything you went through with the butt issue, plus l&d, you're a rockstar. I hope each day recovery gets easier 💛

thinkchocolate05 I am not a week post partum currently, but I wanted to tell you that I had the hot/cold feelings for about a week and a half. It sort of freaked me out becuase I didn't remember feeling that with my first. I even got the shakes and tremors for a week too which was even more scary! As for the pain in back and uterus, I also had that. However, mine was due to the fact that I had two nurses and my midwife basically sit in my stomach and out their entire fist and arm in my uterus to get the clots and blood out since I was hemorrhaging a little. I definitely think hormones play a huge rule, but I also agree that a call to your ob/gyn wouldn't hurt for peace of mind in case it is something that needs to be looked at. So my shaking and hot flashes turned out to be fever. I had 101.3 this morning and saw my obgyn. She says it's endometritis and I need 24 hrs of iv antibiotics in the hospital. My waters weren't broken that long during labor so we're not sure what happened. I did have an internal monitor during labor though, which I think can raise infection risk, maybe. At first she told me to go to the ER and said I might be in a part of the hospital where I couldn't have baby. I think she saw I was going to meltdown being separated from him so now I get to go straight to mother/baby floor and he can come with.

thinkchocolate05, sorry to hear that! Glad you can go with the baby. When I went to the ER for the Bell's palsy, I was on the verge of tears the whole time having to leave A with my H. The intake nurse took pity on me and expedited my room. Hopefully they can get the fever down and the antibiotics will work quickly.

thinkchocolate05 - oh no! I'm so sorry you have to go back in and have this infection. How sucky. I'm SO glad you can keep baby with you, though. mrshall1027 - I forgot to mention earlier - you're not the only one whose not all WOO!! About breastfeeding. I'm so annoyed at my mom (for many reasons) bc she keeps projecting her pregnancies and infant mom experiences on me- one big thing she keeps saying is how much she LOVED BFing and how she felt she was "giving us life and her life and passing everything we needed to us from her" when BFing and I'm over here like .... that's cool my nipples hurt. Is it cool our bodies can do this and give our babies food? Heck yeah! But no, I'm not like 😍💕 over the moon about each time I BF. So, don't feel badly. No advice for whether you should stop BFing and switch to EP but you could always try and slow down the BFing and once you feel better in a few weeks after your meds kick in, you might be interested in trying BFing again- or not. Fed baby is best baby!!

So I went to see an LC today to get some BFing help. I was diagnosed with breast hypoplasia and the tl;dr version is that apparently my breast tissue never developed properly and I don't have any glandular tissue which translates into no mammary glands which means I'm never going to be able to EBF. I am maxed out at producing 2-3oz between both breasts.
I went into this birth knowing good & well I have had prior supply issues wnd would likely have to supplement but I can't believe it's taken 3 kids to be diagnosed with this. I'm equal parts relieved because I can have peace in knowing that I have done all I can do to produce milk for my babies but I'm also really sad in knowing that I'll never be able to provide my babies exclusively breastmilk like I had always wanted to.
After doing some googling this condition is very rare 🙁 I'm currently in the grieving stage of mourning the BFing experience I had hoped for.

Dang unicornsparkles! I'm sorry you received that diagnosis, but glad you have answers. How did they come to that conclusion?

Dang unicornsparkles! I'm sorry you received that diagnosis, but glad you have answers. How did they come to that conclusion? The two biggest giveaways are 1- my history of low supply and 2- the appearance of my breasts. This is a lot of info to give my internet strangers about how my boobs look (lol) but the characteristics of this condition & my breasts include- major size difference between the two, they are very far apart (more than 1.5" of space between the two), they are pretty flat on the top part and not full like breasts typically are, they kind of look like inverted triangles and have a 'tube' shape, and they aren't full and round. They have always been like this and I never thought much of it. I have known for a while that I do eventually want breast implants because I don't like how they look but now they don't even work right, dumb boobs!

unicornsparkles, very interesting! It definitely sucks but you've done what you can. Will you still pump or comfort nurse and then use formula?

thinkchocolate05 I'm so sorry you're having you deal with the infection and hospital stay. I hope you heal up quickly and can have baby with you. unicornsparkles I'm glad you got a diagnosis and hope you don't beat yourself up about it. Baby will be healthy and that's what matters.

unicornsparkles, very interesting! It definitely sucks but you've done what you can. Will you still pump or comfort nurse and then use formula? I like how you call it 'comfort nursing,' that is a really good way to put it. As for now, I would like to nurse at least 2-4x a day as long as I am able to keep my supply. I worry that with decreasing frequency of nursing sessions that whatever supply I have will tank. I definitely would like to keep a morning and evening nursing session & then we will just do formula the rest of the time. It stinks because baby girl is so good at nursing too, she would be a great long-term breastfeeder.

And you'll get breaks when it's time to formula feed. It's not exactly your plan, but I think you're doing great! I think doing 2-4xa day is totally doable.

unicornsparkles Sorry to hear about your diagnosis regarding breastfeeding, although it is good you have answers. I found your post very interesting because I've previously googled hypoplasia alot because my breasts have many of those same characteristics and I wondered if that could have caused my breastfeeding issues with DS1. The frustrating thing is that many of the lactation consultants I've seen either dismiss the possibility off- hand, saying it's very very rare or they don't seem that familiar with the condition. You must have found a good and knowledgeable LC. I'm still too early in breastfeeding ds2 to know if I'll have full supply this time, but your post makes me want to look for another LC if I dont bc at least then I would know it's nothing I'm doing wrong.

thinkchocolate05 I wish I could send you my LC, she's probably the best one I've ever worked with. Her describing the condition to me was like the skies parted and everything made sense. It was a relief I can't describe, years of guilt & stress that was explained. I wish I had known sooner because it would have saved me so many tears and stress. I would definitely advocate for yourself, maybe you can find an LC in your area that specializes in the condition though I know that may be easier said than done. Kelly Mom has the best explanation of the condition that I've found.
