Pretty sure I can make it wherever. Location and timing will be the deciding factor if the boys will join.

If we do Seattle, DH will probably come and go drink with other husbands, leaving me with the boys. Which is fine by me. I'm sure I could at least get a night out of him.

If we do Seattle mh might want to come. Famous Twin Peaks locations aren't far from there and I think he would want to geek out on it all. They are fun, it's a pretty drive and the cherry pie is delicious!

So looks like it's between Seattle and Austin. Should be do a poll or do we just want to record a vote in this thread?

Is Austin like deathly hot in the summer? Could we sightsee at all?

Not that I'm there to sightsee really but it would be an added bonus.

He said he made it 1/2 a block then decided he could live without whatever it was because he thought he might die before he got there.

Depends on when you go. May and June aren't bad. August has sucked the life out of me.

Am I the only east coaster who thinks Seattle is too far for a weekend?! I'd travel to Denver though. Or Nashville or Chicago.

I know Denver has nice, moderate weather in the summer. If we're looking for somewhere central that isn't too hot.

Is Nashville more doable for most? Thats like a 6 hour drive for me so totally doable. I just want the most people to be able to come. I know we won't get everyone because: life. But I really want to try to think of a spot that works for everyone.

Denver isn't drivable but I would fly out. I've only driven through it before and it's gorgeous. I want to take Alex there so We'd definitely go there.

We should probably start a poll cagoldi . Looks like the discussion is btwn: Austin, Seattle, Denver, Nashville, Chicago. Is that too many? I think I saw NOLA somewhere. If people are really hard pressed on Austin, we could always amend the travel to spring or fall to avoid super hot summer. Just an idea.

I'm not too hung up on the where, other than I just don't see myself going to the west coast for 2-3 days. (And no offense meant to the west coasters--I really enjoy it! It's just a long trip for a short visit.)

I'd happily do Nashville or Nola. A shorter plane ride with two kids is always appreciated. ETA: the food alone in Nola would sell me.

Someone explain NOLA to me. I know it's Louisiana but what does it stand for?!

I'm interested! I don't really have a location preference, but would prefer late spring over summer.

I'll figure out how to do a poll.
From what I gather, Chicago has insane humidity in the summer, right?
IDK how much better Nashville or NOLA would be weather wise?
We could look at something in May if we settle on somewhere hot?

Love thos idea. Not sure how doable it is right now for me since we are recovering from me being out of work, but if i can I'd vote Nashville should i vote anyway just in case? Anyone who thinks they want to join us should vote.
