Exhausted.
Went to L&D last night because my BP was 161/102, so the doc wanted to monitor and run more bloodwork. As per, BP was perfect when we got there. Baby was moving fine. And bloodwork came back no worse than it was in previous draws. Left the house at 11pm, back at 4am. DD awake at 6am. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
It was just super weird because I took my BP at 10pm and it was 153/92, and over the hour it just kept climbing, which is the exact opposite of what should happen after taking my meds. But by the time I got to the hospital it was reading 137/84.

I'm so glad you are ok mkrupar! I was just going to post that I got up to pee at 3 and didn't fall back asleep until after 5 but yours in worse. I'm at the dentist with my 2 year old. It's his first trip. I'm a little late on it but he's having so much fun... at the dentist.

rebeccabunch I have yet to take DD to the dentist. Too many unknowns at this point withbwhere to find one. Once we close on the house on Friday, I'll be on the hunt for a pediatrician and dentist. I've just been waiting for everything to be final.

Cleaning all the baby stuff starts today. I have nothing else planned, but I might try to talk H into biking with the toddler so I can nap. Or take a bath so I can shave my legs. Or do nothing. Those all sound pretty okay!

Remember that burst of energy I talked about getting last night? Well, I paid for it in the middle of the night. My back started hurting before I went to bed and when I got up in the MOTN to use the bathroom I almost couldn't move. All I did was clean a few floors and my body hates me. Also, to whoever mentioned the vag pressure in the symptoms thread - I feel you. I have had trouble explaining what that feels like, but it just feels really heavy down there, if that makes sense. My maternity belt helps that some, but not 100%. Ok, whine over. mkrupar, I'm glad you are alright!

mkrupar - So glad you are okay! Sorry you had to be in the hospital for so long last night though DH and I have officially caught the cold that DS incubated and spread to us from his school. Ugh....runny nose and sore throat for both of us. I am using my netti pot daily to keep my sinuses clear and manage post nasal drip, especially because I want to avoid taking any meds while pregnant. At least the cold is happening now and not right after or before my due date! Better to get it over and done with. On the bright side, we found out our glider for the nursery is being delivered 4 weeks early - it's coming in Sunday. Wohoo! I'll be so happy once that is in and set up - then the nursery will be done! I also am weird and can't wait to sit in the glider and test it out. I wasn't able to go out shopping for it due to my bedrest restrictions, so I am eager to give it a test drive!

DD woke up at 2:30 last night. She always STTN. She didn't feel warm or anything. I rocked her back to sleep for the first time in over a year. I didn't even mind being up with her. It gave me all the feels. I'm very sleepy now though and coffee has been no help.

I have a randoms question for BTDT moms...
DD (20 months) has zero interest in books. She loved them when she was younger (ie, less mobile), but now she will only "read" them at her pace which means flipping through 2 pages and being over it. She is on the move all the time and honestly seems like she doesn't want to slow down long enough to read a book. My question is - has anyone experienced this before? I mean her development seems fine and the pedi isn't concerned, but every single other toddler on her BMB has this love for books that I feel is pretty normal for their age. So it makes me wonder...are there any other book-hating toddlers out there?

mkrupar Glad everything is ok! It's almost 10 and DS is still sleeping. I just went in to check on him because I was starting to get worried, he's usually up by between 8:30-9. He went to bed at 9 last night (like normal), so it's not like he was up super late. Growth spurt? Oh well, he's fine, so I've started the coffee maker and enjoying a little me time this morning. It's a rainy and cooler day today, so we'll probably go swimming in our (indoor) pool a little later. Gonna need to do something to tire this kid out in time for afternoon nap today!

More recently I've found she loves them in the car to/from daycare. That's the only time she's really interested and it's a 10 min ride haha. I think (hope) this falls under "normal," but have no ideas on how to get a wildling to sit still to read. I've kinda just been winging it.

thatgirlrachel I don't think my DS was super into books at 20 months either, we rarely made it through the entire thing before he was off playing again. He's 25 months now and is finally really interested in me reading to him. We read more before bed than during the day, but he's started to bring me books randomly and wanting to sit and read recently. So it could happen!

Thanks for the input, everyone! I think more than anything, I am jealous of the snuggling time that books can bring. DD has not ever been a snuggler. She does her own thing and the best way to get her to pay attention to you is to ignore her. Everything has to be her idea before she's willing to do it. She's a strong willed on for sure. I really appreciate hearing others' experiences though.

We go through phases with books. Some nights she's happy to sit and read forever, others she doesn't care. I take her cues. I think if developmentally she's otherwise ok, I would try not to stress.
Also, Do you have books everywhere?
I keep them all over the house, everywhere she plays, in the car, etc. The more she sees them, the more engaged she seems to be with them overall.

thatgirlrachel every kid is different and I remember this being discussed at my other BMB and at 20 months their attention span is short and they're more interested in exploring their environment. I think this is normal. Don't worry too much 😀

DS - also 20 months, has no interest in books except for his sesame street book that only has pictures and windows that you open. I couldn't get him to sit and give two shits about a book. Even when he's on youtube, he barely sits through a whole video before looking for another one. Side note, he finds some strange videos. One of his favorites are two kids that eat different fruit and then goes on a potty and poops out colored candy.

I just dropped off DS for his unofficial first day in preschool 😱 I couldn't sleep last night! I'm a nervous FTM! Now I'm just hanging out waiting while my mom is getting her hair cut a block away. I may or may not sneak over back to school to check DS' antics 😛 After her hair cut.

littleowl913, I'm sorry but I'm LOLing at that video! mkrupar, It's so frustrating. On one hand I love that she is so independent. But on the other hand I would love to have a snuggly little toddler sometimes. At least I know I'm not alone. And yes, we have books all over. In her room, in the playroom, in her bookbag when we go out places. rachydc made me remember that DD will sometimes look at them in her carseat, but again only for a brief period. I offer them to her often but when she turns them down I don't push it.

Hey ladies, sorry I've been MIA. I've been working 8:30 - 5 M-F for the first time in 4 years. IT SUCKS, I don't know how y'all do this on a regular basis.

Being sick while 8 months pregnant with a sick husband as 2 sick kids should just not be allowed. Miserable over here.

I was totally like this when DS1 when to preschool for the first time but I was so pleased with his social and confidence growth that I'm pumped for DS2 to start his little 2 day a week pre 3s pre school this fall. It was good for DS1 to be in a class environment and have a teacher be in charge. He grew sooo much emotionally that year. Cannot wait for DS2 to start! Hopefully it's the same with your DS!

thatgirlrachel, I know your struggles with an independent DD. I try to look at is as a good thing, that she wants to do things for herself. It also makes me enjoy the snuggles that much more when I do get them! mkrupar, glad your BP came down. How scary! *passes you all the coffee*

DD went to bed late and woke up early (see WTF thread) but woke up in a great mood! I got a smile, a kiss and a "wake up time!" from her. Love that girl so much.
I feel a little like a robot these days. I work in order to get to Friday so my ticker can increase by one making it one more week that I don't have to be pregnant anymore. It's horrible for me to say but it's true. Come on October!

Yikes, mkrupar, that is scary. I'm glad it came back down. Do you have a BP cuff at home to track it? I've been walking over to the grocery store a few times a week to monitor it on their machine. My doctor threw out the "your chances of getting pre-e again are 20-30%" for the first time this pregnancy and now I'm starting to freak out a little. 😶
