In regards to the rushing of this season... I listen to a GoT podcast and they made some really good points about this.
The creators didn't sign up to make fanfiction. They were asked to take on this fantasy project (a genre they haven't done before) but only had to adapt books. They were told the rest of the books would be done by the end. They were not, so they had to wrap this up by themselves, which given the ridiculousness of the plot lines is not all that easy to do.
Add onto that that they have been working on this for a decade. They had to start gathering the rights in 2007. They are ready to move on to something new (granted they are moving on to a stupid project that is really offensive, but they still want to move on).
I really can't blame them, as much as I too would like at least one more season so that we could have gotten a few more missing details and some scenes fleshed out a little more (Jamie and Tyrion's meeting, Jorah's return as examples on this episode alone.)

Why does everyone love Gendry? Because he was Arya's family when she had none and we need everything King Robert said to be a prophecy, ie "I have a son, you have a daughter..." See also, "Get her a dog, she'll be happier for it." (Sansa/The Hound)

I could see that happening but man what a shit end of the stick.
Also, I still want to know how Benjen ended up....the way he did? He is still very much himself, but also dead. I feel like that was never explained unless I missed something. I wonder if he will make an appearance again.
Okay, this made me question something. Benjen couldn't get through the wall because of his undead status. Soooo, how are they going to get one down to Cersei? Or is Cersei going to the Wall? Per season 1: gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Wights"The corpses of two members of Benjen Stark's scouting party, Othor and Jafer Flowers, are found in the outskirts of the Haunted Forest near the Wall. They are taken back through the Wall to Castle Black, and Sam notes that despite being dead for weeks, rot hasn't set in. Later that night, they reanimate as wights, and Othor attacks Jon Snow and Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. The creature survives every kind of attack, including impalement and having its arm cut off, until Jon Snow throws a lamp at it, setting it on fire. Both corpses are then burned completely, with Samwell Tarly pointing out their likely nature to all present." So, Benjen not being able to travel near or through the wall might just be a Benjen problem.

I really hope Arya is playing Littlefinger, because she was being the least discreet spy/cat burglar in all of Westeros. She was just standing near corners watching him in basically plain view and then she was being SUPER loud going through his room.

I don't think Cersei is faking her pregnancy. I think it's all part of her very real plan to keep Jaime close and garner sympathy from her enemies. It's been 16+ years since she had her last child, she knows how birth control works. This wasn't an accident.

I think Arya and Sansa are playing him. He is the reason all this shit started in the first place. Sansa said herself they had to be smarter than their father and Rob. I think she has learned shit the hard way, and I could see it all being an act to catch him and kill him once and for all. I mean, LF can fuck with a lot people, but he sure as shit can't fuck with Arya, an assassin who can assume the identities of others, Bran, the three-eyed raven who can see everything, and Sansa, someone who has been through a lot of shit and seen some bad shit and actually learned how to be more cunning to save your own ass and keep your family together. I feel like Sansa and Arya to work together, Bran needs to stop being weird and tell them stuff he knows about those who have slighted/used them and get them talking. They have always been oil and water though, so I doubt they would be working it out on their own.

I am fine with the fast pace, as much as I have loved and enjoyed watching this show, sometimes it felt like it took forever for something big to happen. Not being tethered to the books was the best thing to happen to this show. It's much more entertaining to watch from my perspective. I actually don't mind it either. Things are happening and I'm entertained. I don't mind it, but I wish they would be consistent with the speed. Takes 2 episodes for a ravento get half way across Westeros, but then seconds to get from Dragonstone to Kingslanding and back by boat.

The new episode was accidentally leaked by a Nordic HBO so now it's all over the internet and spoilers are going to be everywhere. This is the big episode so I'm extra annoyed.

When my hairdresser and I were talking about GOT theories, he brought up that Circe must be faking the pregnancy because the scene when she was a kid with the witch indicated that she would have 3 children, all of whom would die before her.
But I don't remember the scene, and even if that were correct, it doesn't mean she still couldn't be pregnant at the moment.
I guess that same witch may reappear in anothrr episode. Not sure where he (my hair guy) got that.

EDIT: season premiere of season 5 - Maggie the Frog gave Cersei the prophecy about three kids and that gold will be their crowns; gold, their shrouds, etc.

I think she's pregnant, but I don't think she is going to have a baby. Yup. I don't think she's lying, but I also don't think that she will have a living child one way or another.

The prophecy from Maggie the frog (the witch) who as in season....3? Yes, three kids only for Cersei. So this baby is either fake or not making it to term.
And yes, I remember the brown haired baby she had with Robert. But the writers don't. That was definitely a whoopsie daysie.

So...who's seen this week's episode? Nope. Although if the last episode leaks I might watch that. BUT then all my podcasts would be delayed so I don't know. Is it true that season 8 isn't going to be released until 2019??

Is it true that season 8 isn't going to be released until 2019?? I've heard that rumored, but as far as I can see it hasn't been confirmed. IMDB still has it listed as 2018 and I would think that would get updated if 2019 had been confirmed.

So...who's seen this week's episode? No! No! No! As anxious as I am to watch it, I have no intentions on peeking. I'm also avoiding all theory/discussion articles until after Sunday because even if it's a spoiler-free article, I know people who have run into spoilers in the comments.

Yea I heard it on a podcast while I was driving in this morning but didn't see anything on Google. One article said HBO is worried 2 hour episodes might be overkill. So it seems like they're making 6 full length movies. I can see that taking a while.

I'd be perfectly happy with 2 hour episodes! Give me all the Thrones! I'm just happy we're not getting a 6-episode season of 55 min shows.

As much as I love Tyrion, he needs to be fired as Dany's advisor. All of his ideas have come to shit this season. Catching a White Walker to deliver it to Cersei is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Tyrion knows more than anyone how effing crazy Cersei is and that she can't be trusted or reasoned with. She wouldn't care if the Army of the Dead wiped out everyone in Westeros. She would happily agree to join Dany and Jon only to have their armies leading the fight and have her army come up behind them and kill them too. He seems to be unable to accept the realities of war and that some people (Cersei being the number 1) must die. I know none of them know about Arya yet, who would be their best chance, but Tyrion should be advocating for Cersei to be assassinated.
