Morning!

Well we survived our first night alone at the house, and C had a somewhat better night than the last few, so I'm feeling positive this morning.

This morning I'm taking the children to a wildlife refuge a bit west of here. They have Indigenous Maine animals that have been found injured and rehabilitated. B is super excited.

Good morning. Leaving at 2 today and I can't wait to just bum around at home alone! Also we are closed on Monday for VJ day (I think this is an RI thing) so long weekend.
Since the Clerk caught me dancing earlier in the week we decided we should just add her into our "song of the day" rotation. Each day one of us picks an upbeat fun song to play for the others and dance to it. We told her this morning she was up today to pick a song. I can't wait to hear what she picks. She seemed flattered we included her.

I have some HR stuff to do this morning and a few other random things and that's it.

So last night we were eating dinner and Matthew took the tab off my moms pop can, and dropped it in. She saw him do it and she's always telling him not to. But she scolded him and moved on. But she kept drinking it! And swallowed the thing! She felt it get stuck and assumed it would pass. It's stuck in her throat. Or so she says. So now she's headed to the emergency room. She called me wanting me to leave work to take her, uh no. You were fine last night, you got to work just fine, you can drive the 15 minutes to the ER. Maybe I'm a bitch but WTF. You saw it happen, and kept drinking it! This is not on me just because it was my kid.

I'm highly annoyed.

flamingo The refuge you are going to sounds fun! When we were in Eureka Springs a few weeks ago, we went to a big cat preserve that, amongst all the cats, had a bear. It was so cool to see him swimming and eating. I really enjoy the preservation places that take in these animals and would give them all my money, if I had any extra!

peachsmama I hope your mom is okay!

Nothing too exciting today, just glad it's Friday and PAYDAY, although it's mostly already scheduled to be spent anyway.

Yes. I don't understand how she swallowed it. Like it does not compute for me. It's large, didn't she feel it? I feel like she's playing this up on purpose.

peachsmama, how did she swallow that? It probably isn't stuck in her throat, it may have scraped her throat going down. I would think if it was actually in her throat she would have gone last night. Although, I hope it isn't actually stuck!

I have no clue. She called her doctor this morning since she felt like it was stuck still and he told her to go in, and he said it won't pass. I asked her like 4 times "why did you swallow it?!"

cagoldi So my coworker friend (negative nancy) knows I'm not doing meat this month. First, I made some comment about mh wanting to go to Red Lobster because he saw a commercial and I told him, that's meat, I can't go. She actually told me that it isn't meat, it's seafood....I just stared at her for a bit then said, fish is meat. "No, there's beef and poultry. Seafood is different." Uh....nope. Now she just sent me an article on how vegetarians are more likely to be depressed than meat eaters. Dude, just let me be! I told her I felt great and left it at that. So freaking annoying!

In my class this week we were talking about Skyline and I said it's my favorite of all the Cincinnati style chili places because their vegetarian chili is the best. The guy next to me says "Oh you don't eat meat? I smoked a 10 pound brisket yesterday! It was great!" Everyone just stared at him, the instructor finally said "so.. where were you going with that?.." People are so bizarre.

Lol klong11, I used to have a friend in HS that said she was vegetarian. But she ate chicken. But that's ok Bc it's "poultry". That's not meat. 🤔😐😑
