Let's talk about all things potty training here! This way we can keep it off the randoms and let people who are not even close to this stage continue to live in blissful ignorance if they so choose.

I'm not potty training, but ds has been showing some interest with wanting to sit on the potty after dd goes. So I put him on. He's peed on it the last 2 nights, and I got a message from DC today that he peed on it when they put him on it. That is the extent of my PT. I hope that DD and DC will teach him.

W is pretty much day trained with only 2 accidents in 2 weeks (same day with my mom). He wakes up dry from naps and goes to the bathroom in the toilet as soon as he wakes up in the morning.
Problems :fights putting on a diaper at all, now loves being naked, and doesn't want to try underwear.
I'll eventually have to face night time training but I'm hoping his diapers get drier and drier at night (he's had a couple days where they weren't soaked) and then we can work on it.

I think I will probably give it a go with DD soon. Considering she taunts me now but popping a squat right in front of me, smiling then saying "PEEEEEE". Lol. Lets move this party to the potty girl.

librarylady I meant to say earlier that underwear might set you back a couple of days (I'm definitely preparing for it) but I think because they've learned the skill it won't be like starting all. Over again so don't worry about fucking it all up. We're trying just underwear for a couple days and then we'll do a full set of clothes once he gets used to pulling down his underwear.

Ethan is showing some signs but is terrified of sitting on the toilet. So there's that. I was really hoping to avoid the potty chair and just do the seat.

So here is where we are at with potty training: she is basically day trained. I still put her in a diaper for her nap and overnight, and that is where she chooses to poop. I'm whatever about it. It isn't messing with sleep, causing a rash, and she has never once pooped in her pants, so I'm not worrying about it. I ordered her special tiny underwear that should be here tomorrow. She starts preschool a week from Monday and I am a little concerned about how she will handle that. She still really needs help pulling her shorts down, so I hope they are ok with that.

booarogue that's awesome that he is waking up dry from his nap! Ava still has pretty wet diapers when she wakes up. She also doesn't pee for the first time in the morning for a good hour or longer after she wakes up, so I assume she is peeing in her diaper in the crib right when she wakes before we get it off her.

Yeah I'm gonna put her in them on Sunday and then we will have about a week until preschool so hopefully she will catch on by then. That's a good idea about keeping her in just underwear at first!

jedi we use the little potty at home and keep one in the trunk too. I love it! But then again, she doesn't poop in it so I don't know how I would feel if I was having to clean poop out of it...

That is exactly why. And we cloth diapered s1 so it's not like I wasn't used to dumping poop in the toilet. Still made me want to puke everytime

Peekaru I take it YH potty trained your son? My H, my in laws, my parents. He potty trained the week I came home with DD. So I was in charge of keeping her alive instead of potty training.

So this past week DS decided he wants to be just like big sis. He will demands the potty - his diaper is dry. He sits on it for a bit, grabs toilet paper to shove into the toilet and then claims he done (he doesn't pee). As soon as we put a diaper on - he pees. Like every time.
I'll still wait a while to train. Clearly neither of us are ready.

booarogue, with undies, I deal with a lot of "pinching it off" pee leaks. This is a GOOD sign that they're figuring out the stop/start peeing mechanism but holy laundry. I bought thirty pairs of cheap underwear when we trained #1.

abominationsnowman we just started underwear yesterday and so far she has had two sort of accidents, when before she wasn't having really any. I say sort of accidents because she is definitely peeing in her underwear, but she is also stopping all on her own ( we don't even realize she's peeing) and then peeing the rest of the way in the potty. I'm guessing it has to do with the undies, and I'm just glad that she is stopping herself. But I only bought 9 pairs and no way am I buying more....the only places that make underwear in her size are super expensive!

Dry for naps and no pee flood leaks. He's pooped on the toilet only if he has already started in his pants. I'm optimistic because he isn't fighting me. Once he's staying in the toddler bed all night, we'll work on night training.

Do they have 18 month gerber sizes on amazon, or does she need smaller than that? The training underwear help keep the pinching it off pee in. The 2t faded glory brand are well elasticated around the waist and thighs, but definitely leave a lot of saggage in the butt. Those were the smallest I could find for my skinny two. #2 has my butt, so he has no problem filling a pair of underpants

Yeah based on the size chart those are still a bit too big. Also, I want to avoid training undies if possible. But thanks for looking! I'll just make sure to throw her undies in with whatever load I'm doing that day.

librarylady and abominationsnowman w was fighting us on underwear so we just started today and we just had one of these accidents. He immediately told me and then he went the rest of the way on the potty. I bought a bunch of Walmart underwear though. I actually bought then a little big so he'd be able push them down easier.

They have been putting J on the toilet at daycare every day he is there (once or twice per day). I try to do it at home and he's terrified. I may buy him the little elmo potty. Sometime. I have no motivation right now and he's shown no signs so I'm in no hurry
