hangry, burgers and poke bowls and a new food truck that I haven't looked up because I'm drowning in emails. Holy shit you guys. Remind me to never take off that many days in row again. I've come back to a complete shit show. At least I only have today and tomorrow and then it's the weekend again.

Oh! Speaking of the weekend, we're having friends over on a Saturday and I can't wait because I'm going to use them as my taste testers for my goodies for the bake off next week. I've narrowed it down to maple bacon fudge or cookie dough cups (like peanut butter cups but with cookie dough). I need them to tell me which one is more likely to get me a blue ribbon for the 2nd year in a row.

M is about to hit two hours of her morning nap. It usually only lasts 30 minutes. I don't care how much naughtiness she's been getting into, crawling is the best thing to happen in this household.

Morning sweet chicks.
J is napping and I'm making a grocery list to make a bunch of freezer meals for her, with MH home soon I'll have more than 3.2 uninterrupted seconds to cook and bake for the house. He loves to take long walks, to the parkand just chat to her the whole time, lol. People must think he's a little cray-cray.

We have a good 2-2.5 hour nap either morning or afternoon lately and it's the best. I feel like she is rested and we both get a break.

I'd been getting the feeling lately that she was tired at sleep times, but still had a lot of pent up energy and not able to turn herself off because of it. She went from sitting like a lump on her mat Friday to zooming long distances on Saturday. And that's when the decent naps started. Finally. Now if only this is the answer and I can maybe say that I have one sleep issue sorted out. I hope J keeps giving you that long stretch! It's truly magical.

At what point do I wake her up? It's 1. Her afternoon nap usually starts at 1:30....
I'm already eyeing up the thermometer.

I have zero motivation to do anything today. I just put J down and I really want to sit on the couch and watch trashy reality tv but I can't because toddler. And he wants to play legos, then playdoh, then cars, then blocks. I don't want to adult today. This is so me. I've gotten spoiled this week bc my dad has spent a ton of time with B; my parents are flying out t a wedding this afternoon and I'm like, FML, I'm back on preschooler-entertaining duty. 😜 Did I mention to y'all I just found out preschool doesn't start til the ELEVENTH of September? I knew schools started later in VA but didn't really think about it affecting preschool, too. I don't know if I can make it.

Also, hi! C is currently wailing angrily from her crib; she needs a nap desperately so I'm letting her cry for a bit before going up to save the day. tgrimes your ILs really are the best.

Uuuummm no. I wish. She'll be back in her crib as soon as everything is sorted out with the allergist. She's finally not acting like her belly hurts so I could probably restart the transition now, but idk what to expect with the scratch test and don't feel like wasting a week doing this if I'm just going to have to start over again. Plus it's kind of a battle with my H. He likes her being in the bed. They hold hands in their sleep.
