How far along are you? 19w1d
Size: Mango or Gameboy
Upcoming Appointments: I had my anatomy scan yesterday. Follow-up ultrasound in 3 weeks to get a picture of the heart that they couldn't get because she wouldn't move.
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: I still have insomnia. I bought some unisom but haven't taken it yet because I'm scared I'll be groggy in the morning. I may try it this weekend and see how it makes me feel. I've had some swelling in my ankles but I think it's mostly due to the heat/humidity here and the fact that I wear flats that don't have much support to work.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I get 8 weeks STD so I'm planning to take that then 2 weeks of 1/2 days after that. With DD I didn't ease back into work and it was brutal. It sucks with this one because it's the beginning of the year so I don't want to use much vacation. I will have 16 days left when I get back so depending on how I'm feeling I may take a few extra days.

How far along are you? 12 weeks 3 days Size: A plum Upcoming Appointments:I had my NT scan yesterday and all looked good! Symptoms/concerns/milestones: Still lots of headaches and nausea. And the bloating is unreal! GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I'll get 8 weeks paid and 4 weeks unpaid. Once I go back, I'm hoping to be able to do 4 days in the office/1 day working at home for a few months. We'll see!

How far along are you? 11 weeks today Size: lime Upcoming Appointments: today! Hoping to hear heartbeat, and will get blood drawn for harmony test Symptoms/concerns/milestones: still pretty nauseous, but haven't vomited in a week! GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? Six months, I'll get 8 paid using my sick time, but I'm a teacher and won't go back for the last 6-7 weeks, so those will be unpaid along with the summer.

12w Apricot! Tomorrow is my NT scan. Next OB appt is 8/21 Nada GTKY : my employer has a very generous leave program. I will get paid for about 12w between disability and parental leave. Then I can take up to 6 months? of unpaid leave with job protection. I think I'm taking 3-4 months of that. So my current plan is to go on leave early Feb and go back to work just after Labor Day.

How far along are you? 19 weeks tomorrow
Size: mango
Upcoming Appointments: lab work tomorrow, neurologist next Monday, OB Tuesday, AS Thursday! Yay for a week of dr appointments
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: I'm FINAllY zofran free! Oh and I've been seizure free too so all is well here.
GTKY: I am in kind of a unique situation. I'm an adjunct professor (for two universities) so I'm technically a temp contract and don't qualify for leave. It's basically take it or leave it regarding a teaching contract for the semester so I asked for online only courses. I'm VERY nervous because I'm due the 4th, classes start the 9th. I am going down from 4 classes to 2 so it will be somewhat of a break. I usually use nap time as work time so I'm a bit nervous that the kids will be on opposite nap schedules and I'll be screwed. DH will stay home for one week and my mom is planning to come over for a week as well so I will have back up right at first.

How far along are you? 17w2d
Size: tangy pomegranate!
Upcoming Appointments: aug 28th is our anatomy scan!! So excited!
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: the worst symptom right now is that I basically can't sleep. I'm up all hours of the night for no reason (not even peeing that much MOTN). So I'm constantly exhausted which makes toddler mom-ing difficult haha.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born?
So I will be going back to work verrrry PT in a few weeks when school starts (two mornings a week). I'm planning to only take two or three weeks off from that bc I'm only teaching two classes and it will be pretty easy to do even being newly postpartum. We have childcare set up already for DD and that same friend will take the baby too. Right after the baby is born my mom will probably come down for a little bit like she did when DD was born. It will be a busy time for DH at work so I'll definitely need her help. Once again I will fight for delaying my ILs visit as long as possible lol (at least until I've got nursing under control & feeling more like a normal person again).

I am 18w today. Baby is the size of a sweet potato. I have my A/S on 8/28 I can't wait! I am feeling pretty good. The insomnia is still bad but I am managing. The bloating is gone so my bump is just baby and fat. 😂 I am drinking a ton of water and trying to eat healthy which is helping. I feel really good. I work part time for a greeting card company so getting someone to cover me while I am gone is pretty easy. I am taking the minimum of 8 weeks but I may take longer depending on how I feel. Even though I don't stay at home, I will have plenty of help. My stepmom is going to watch G while I am delivering and my sister said she will come over for a few days and help. MH also gets two weeks of paternity leave and he is going to try and take a vacation week right after his paternity.

How far along are you? 17w1d
Size: PlayStation remote
Upcoming Appointments: Still over a couple weeks to go
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: I felt the baby kick for the first time on Sunday while laying in bed! It wasn't a questionable one, it was the first one I knew for sure it was it. Then last night laying in bed I felt it moving a little bit. I can't wait until H and the kids can feel it too!
GTKY:
SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? No plans to, barring circumstances where something comes up and I can't take care of my current kids (like a NICU stay or something) If baby is born in early January H will still be on Christmas break for a few days, but I'm not holding my breath on that. I was pretty lucky with the other two, DS was born right at the start of summer break and DD just a month before break starts so I had H home for a couple months at the beginning with them which was nice haha!!

How far along are you? 17w
Size: pomegranate
Upcoming Appointments: 28 dr, 29 scan
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: still tired but other than that most days I am good! 😊my belly button is almost popping out! 🤰
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? My ils will be here 1-2 after the babe. They are more helpful than my mom. Mil cooks and fil will keep Matteo entertained. Most likely my mom will come after (unless she can afford to stay in a hotel) but she will only stay a week or so. My bff plans in coming too after the grandparents are gone.

How far along: 19w1day
Size: game boy
Upcoming apts: Next Tuesday for the NST scan. I don't think I'm going to be able to hold out for team green!
GTKY: I work part time. I'll take 8 weeks off and then transition back to work slowly.....My mom lives with me but isn't super helpful, so we'll see how that goes. My MIL lives down the street and is super helpful. She usually bring dinner a few night a week in the beginning and will help with the older kids a bunch.

How far along - 16w6
Size - dill pickle
Upcoming appointments - meeting with an endo next Tuesday about my GD and then I assume a dietician and nurse. Anatomy scan is on aug 23rd so FX my placenta has moved up!
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: just general worry over the GD diagnosis and the fact that I'm still spotting brown blood/clots daily
GTKY- In Canada you can choose to take a year or 18 months. So far the plan is to take a year but depending on the timing with DS going to preschool I might do the SAH thing for a bit
We didn't have much help the first time around so I'm not anticipating anything different this time

How far along are you? 13w3d
Size: No idea
Upcoming Appointments: Follow up with the midwife on Friday.
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: Waiting on the results from the second NIPT test (the first one was inconclusive). I will feel a lot better once I have that. Morning sickness has been terrible, but I think it might be easing a little?
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? My husband and I both get 8 weeks of paid family leave, plus the 16 weeks of FMLA (the 8 weeks is included in that). I will take 8 weeks paid, and then whatever leave (annual, sick) I have to fill the rest of the 8 weeks because I want to take the entire 16 weeks. Last time, I only took 8 weeks and it was just not enough (but I also had a lot of stuff going on at the same time). My husband will probably take 4 weeks in one lump, and the remaining 4 weeks intermittently, depending on how rough the birth is on me.

How far along are you? I need EDD here so I can do math from off of all of your dates 😂 had to check Ovia, 17w1d
Size: pomegranate
Upcoming Appointments: next week, just a check up
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: now that my appetite is back I hope my weight holds steady or starts increasing a bit.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I work part time from home so I do not really plan on taking much of a maternity leave but my two older children will continue going to daycare (trust me, that is like a vacation in and of itself). I am also applying at FT jobs so if I happen to get an interview I will just say my availability is at the 6 week mark.

Size: Pomegranate
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan in 3 weeks.
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: My sense of smell is intense and MH's farts make me want to literally throw up.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I plan to take 16 weeks off.

How far along are you? 15+3
Size: Umm...an avocado? That sounds familiar.
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until 8/28.
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: I'm definitely feeling baby move more, which I am loving. The nausea is coming and going. I was actually hungry for supper last night, and feel okay right now, which I appreciate. Changing DS' poopy diapers though? Whole 'nother story. Apparently, smells and I aren't friends.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? I'll be taking 12 weeks off, then will go back to teach the last 6 weeks of the year and have the summer off. I have sick days to cover about 3 weeks, the rest will be unpaid. STD will help cover some of that gap.

14+4
Lemon
Next Midwife appointment not until 8/23. Then I'll get to schedule the A/S!
Still a bit more hungry than while not pregnant, but not much else. Peeing in the middle of the night which is so annoying but par for the course.
I am primarily a SAH. My mom will come to town again for a few weeks to help with baby and DS. My in-laws live close and will help also I'm sure.
I teach barre part-time so I'll take several weeks off from that and then decide later when I'm ready to ease back into teaching. My babysitter is due with her first end of March so that also adds a wrinkle to my childcare. I volunteer on Mondays but will stop shortly before this baby is born and probably won't go back there until he is 1 or so.

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan on the 1st 😞 So far away...
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: same old same old.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born?
My in-laws are planning on helping out as much as they can and some friends from church. Winter is my husbands busy season at work so unfortunately for me (but maybe fortunately for him?? 😂😂) he will be out of the house a lot in the early months.

How far along are you? 13w1d Size: peach Upcoming Appointments: next appointment is on the 25th Symptoms/concerns/milestones: still pretty tired by the end of the day. I had a quick doppler check appointment yesterday and got to hear a nice 160 bmp GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I'm going to be taking the year thatis provided by the canadian EI program. DH is planning to take a week after LO is born to help get settled. He also works mostly from home, so I'll be able to get help from him during his breaks/downtime.

How far along are you? 16 weeks
Size: Avocado
Upcoming Appointments: Check up yesterday. Heard the heartbeat for the first time. The doctor wasn't able to find it with the Doppler at the 12 week appointment.
Symptoms/concerns/milestones: I haven't checked in in awhile because I just haven't been in a good headspace. I've never struggled with any mental health issues before. A lot of crying and talking it out with my husband and doctor is starting to help.
GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? Hoping to take about 2 months off. Since I own the business, I'm sure I'll be into the store a few times during those 2 months. Technically I could take as much time as I want but since I then have to pay employees to cover me, and I won't be there to do the big expensive orders, I don't think it will be feasible. My husband will qualify for the Canadian parental leave of 35 weeks (women get 17 weeks pregnancy leave and then the 35 weeks can be split however you want between the 2 parents). He'll probably end up taking off 2 or 3 months.

flippinchica, I'll definitely have to try that this weekend. cake, I'm kind of going through the same thing. I had PPA with my last and stopped the medication this spring and I feel like I may have jumped the gun. I am feeling really overwhelmed and it doesn't help that my 2 year old doesn't listen and lashes out every night. She's perfect for her teachers at school and her sitter, but it seems like not for me. I'm not really sure how to get past this without heading back to my doctor which I really don't want to do.

sarahh I'm sorry your feeling this way too. I'm sure having to parent at the same time isn't at all helping things. I'm extremely stressed out that I'm going to have full blown PPA/PPD after the baby is due. Thankfully my husband has been extremely helpful and I'm sure he will continue to be.

cake I'm sorry your in a bad headspace. It's completely normal to feel this way and I'm glad you have a supporting husband who will talk things out with you. You may or may not have PPD/PPA but if you do there are tons of things to help prevent and get ahead of it when the time comes. Your definitely not alone and you can always come vent about your fears here but I hope in the meantime you can find someway to find some peace. Sending you lots of hugs

How far along are you? 15 w 1 d Size: Naval Orange/Cinnamon Roll Upcoming Appointments: OB today for regular checkup, next week MFM for a growth check to ease my mind that everything looks normal. Symptoms/concerns/milestones: No symptoms except I get winded easily when going upstairs or walking and talking at the same time. Starting to buy things for the nursery but not ready to start decorating. GTKY: Working moms - how much maternity leave do you plan to take? SAHMs - do you plan to have any help right after baby is born? I'm planning to take 12 weeks, I have 2 weeks paid by my employer at 100%, followed by 4 weeks disability (paid at 60% but due to it not being taxed it is almost full pay) then I will take 6 weeks unpaid. I work from home so I debate going back early since I don't need to worry about leaking boobs or wearing real clothes, but I think I want the full amount of time off and we will be fine with 6 weeks of unpaid leave.
