What is everyone up to today? I'm having a panic attack because I just realized to day is 2 months to my EDD. EEEKKKKKKK! This is exciting! Just think of all the wonderful things to come like baby love, cozy maternity leave (your DS will still go to daycare, yes?), being off for the holidays!!, and drinking again!!!! You may not believe me now, but if your DS still goes to school and it's you and the baby, it's likely going to be more chill than your first mat leave. It's less WTF am I doing this time, at least it was for me. Juggling the needs of two was harder.

Exciting times blackmamba! I can't believe how close we are all getting! I'm sitting over here happy that the weekend and Monday are over - dealing with a quarantined stomach flu DH is no fun. 😷😷 DS and I haven't come down with anything, so I think my paranoid reaction and overzealous handwashing/face mask wearing has been working out. If we get through tomorrow with nobody else getting sick - I'm going to call it a win. Good news is that DH says he basically feels back to normal, has his appetite back, and hasn't had any more symptoms for about 24 hours. I will be SO HAPPY to have extra help with DS once DH is unquarrantined. DH has either been in the USA, super jet lagged, or sick the past 2 weeks, we just moved into a new place, and I'm on modified bedrest. I am soooooooo ready for things to get back to normal.

Happy Monday guys! Does anyone else lay in bed and just think about all the adulting they have to do... and then not do any of it?
Off to the grocery store today, which I enjoy doing. A trip to my chiro - where I'm going to try really hard to not be salty about what happened Saturday, and then home to make the phone calls I've been avoiding. Whee.

Oh also, Rama has her first ultrasound today so if y'all could spare some good thoughts for her, I know she'd appreciate it!
(She's on Pacific time so I won't have an update until way late today, probably tomorrow)

Fx for Rama. I hope her u/s goes okay.
Sitting in the lab after downing the glucose drink... sucks to be here for an hour.

FX for Rama! cythe, let her know I'm thinking about my fellow PNWer. Good luck with your glucose test, racegurl87. Mine is Wednesday and I can't wait to get it out of my refrigerator. We had a ton of fun on our annual friends camping trip. DS is probably going to be talking about Bigfoot hunting and eating dirty marshmallows for the next month. rebeccabunch you were right, it was less stressful than last year with DS being 2.5 and I was watching the 3-4 year olds thinking how it will be even easier next year. (For DS at least. I was also watching the 11 month old eat dirt the whole time thinking how that will be baby #2 next year, ha.)

riverraine thanks! I think it went okay. The drink gave me a bit of a headache and sitting there sucked but it's done and hopefully I won't have to do the 3hr.

riverraine I don't know but I'm lol ing at dirty marshmallows. Glad it was a success! It will only get easier as far as DS goes and even next year with a baby it won't be as bad bc you've done it before. You will need to pack more and I'm assuming camping nursing and camping baby sleep aren't ideal but the trade off it you can drink which makes everything easier as far as I'm concerned! We leave for our big cabin trip on Wednesday. Last year was the first year I wasn't pregnant or nursing there and that was awesome! We will get there again!

I've been relatively chill this time around, but now I'm starting to panic that I've been too chill and have too many things to do. Just need to breathe- it's all going to be ok. DS will be in daycare. I debated keeping him home or reducing the number of days per week or hours per day, but I decided that I want to keep his schedule as normal as possible and have lots of one on one bonding time with the baby. I know this time will be easier in some ways, but I'm still getting a little nervous for the unknown. Thanks for the positive vibes and reminders- I can't wait for all the cuddles. And to live in yoga pants.

Taitai so glad your H is feeling better! FX things are back to normal in the taitai house! cythe thanks so much for keeping us in the Rama loop. I'm so excited for her and I'll be sending special T&Ps for her today. AFM, this morning we had some heart tests scheduled for DS. Our ped has been monitoring DS's heart murmur and since it didn't resolve by 2, he sent us for testing. We are so thankful that it appears he just has a 'normal' benign murmur and there's no need for any restrictions or additional monitoring. We figured as much, but it is always a little nerve wracking when you're facing tests like that. DS was SO good during the EKG and echo-cardiogram!

It's a holiday today but I'm at work earning that $$$ since we've decided the double stroller we want is the Uppababy Vista. I like the City Select and it's less $ used but it seems like it would be too heavy. So now I'm conflicted

Watch out guys - I went to the butcher, the grocery store, got home and made a pedi appointment, finished my hospital pre-registration form and called Tricare about my breast pump.

And to live in yoga pants. I think I'm swayed a bit bc DS1 cried all day and DS2 was a typical sleep, awake for 10 minutes, eat, repeat baby but I legit spent my Mat leave nursing and watching a ton of good shows. I watched all of scandal, The Killing (loved the first two seasons - def rec) and stuff like that bc we had a nanny for DS1 mon - Th. Friday's were hard but it was good for my confidence. Also with the first you have the big adjustment going from doing whatever you want/when you want/no one getting in the way of your sleep. That's a distant memory now! (Don't worry cythe you got this!) If you need something and you find you don't have it, Amazon! I've picked up that you and I are similar on this regard. My biggest luxury is convenience! I just loved the cozy fall and holiday time. It's a baby so it's not going to be easy but there will be less pressure. Can you tell I'm still not over losing my October Delivery timeframe?!?

Just another Monday here. Talked on the phone with my mom for an hour this morning (she's over 3 hours away, so we do this at least twice a week), then started a load of laundry and went on a walk with DS. He's about half way through his nap now, and I'm munching on a frozen chocolate bar. ETA Oh, and it's also our 7th wedding anniversary today! We celebrated yesterday with root beer floats from A&W, since I work tonight after H gets home from work.

I have no motivation to work today. Sorry, work. My MIL came over to sort out DS's old baby clothes, which is so nice of her to do. But she put aside any clothes she decided were too 'masculine' and 'inappropriate' for a girl. Like really? She's a baby. She doesn't care that she's wearing a onesie with a construction theme.

Okay, I'm over Tricare lol. Finding a breast pump locally is like pulling teeth. The guy showed me how to pull up a list of people who *might* supply pumps, and then I have to call them all to see if they actually carry any.
So far, I've found 2 out of the list of 20+ that I've called. This is the poop.
One could call me... stoppable.

I got one through Tricare in February and it was super easy, no phone calls required. My OB gave me a written prescription for it at one of my 3rd tri appointments and I ordered it online from one of the Tricare-approved providers. Once my order was placed with the company, there was a followup email asking me to send them a scanned copy of the prescription. The pump was delivered to my front door about a week later (would've been sooner, but shipping was delayed a bit due to one of the accessory items being backordered). This is exactly what I ended up doing because I was so frustrated! I figured I would try locally first because I'm paranoid about messing things up, and figured real people could help me get get things done correctly. However, after a million phone calls and only 1 company having a pump that was even worth a damn, I just found a website that worked with Spectra.

You can also get an rx from your OB buy whatever one you want and then fill out the reimbursement form to get the $$ back.

cythe, so productive! Ahem, I too was sorta productive despite keeping DS from wrecking the house today. Very unusual but it rained this am and we had low temps of 60s! So I took the opportunity again to use the oven and made 2 dishes for the week. Everything takes me 2-3x the time I normally would but I was happy to be in the kitchen. I miss cooking. 😛 Between that and hanging out with DS and keeping him from destroying the house since he wasn't able to go out for his usual am walk; now I'm tired...I also sorted through a few bins of DS books to donate to the library whenever we go there.
