Thanks for the well wishes. I'm very surprised by how big the incision is on his arm. It's at least 2 inches long. I just got done feeding the crew lunch. I made a full bag of chicken vegetable stir fry to which I added a box of mushrooms, container of pea pods and a chopped bunch of Swiss chard. They claim they are still hungry and are asking for the half a watermelon on the counter. Summer time playing outside is hard work apparently.

We had a cockatoo (along with a fddjshs load of other birds, all my sisters) growing up. The cockatoo screamed like a banshee every night and would randomly bite the living fuck out of you. Not a good pet. My dad had one growing up that was his best buddy. Sam was not this bird reincarnated. I do not recommend pets like this to people. I am pretty sure the roosting screaming permanently damaged my hearing.

DD fell asleep for the night by 6pm. Probably because she woke up at 4:50am and did not go back to sleep. And took a one hour nap. 😩 FX she stays asleep all night!

H went to ask his supervisor if he could use a stat to get Sunday off so we can go camping. He was late so he had to leave a message. How am I supposed to plan and get organized if I don't know if we're going?!

I thought you were going camping, then weren't going camping, then canceled your campsite, but now are trying to go camping?

I am beyond sad that summer is ending. I love summer. Today the kids played outside for about 4 hours, we walked to the store, and played in the sprinkler. I love fall too, but after that is winter and then I feel trapped and the weather is so questionable every day. Ugh.

I'm odd (wo)man out. I am so glad summer is ending. Mostly cause I need the heat to end. It's like our life is the complete opposite. We are all stir crazy from being cooped up inside because of the heat.
The other day I stopped at a park to kill time before DS's friends' bday party and within 10 min they were both sweaty and flushed and they were on a playground that's under a shade structure. It's just no fun.
I can't wait to go to playgrounds, go on hikes (Nellie is killing me with her hiking pics!), bike rides, walks, etc. or just move to a more respectable place. 😂

Winter here will mean no playgrounds November through March. Much shorter walks (or none) bc I have to traverse snow and slush and ice. Never mind the negative temperatures. I'll come visit you in January. Feel free to stop by here anytime. It was 80 and no humidity today.

I thought you were going camping, then weren't going camping, then canceled your campsite, but now are trying to go camping? Originally we had a site booked in the mountains, which we cancelled because of the fires. Then we were going to go to church camp with H's grandparents, but had no money. H gets paid Friday, so if he can get Sunday off we're going to go down and meet them Friday afternoon.

scorpioscuba I'm with you. I don't love summer. I hate winter though. I need to live somewhere where the weather is like September here all year. I love fall, but it doesn't last long enough here. Mid September can still be in the 20's, but by mid October we could have snow. Gotta love Canada.

I am excited for the weather to cool off, too. It's nice here in the mornings and evenings, but I the afternoon you have to be in the shade or else it's just too much. So that leaves out most parks, the zoo, our backyard, etc etc. Maybe when the girls are older and can play in the municipal pools together I might like it more? I don't know.
Winter is just a big, dark, rainy rain puddle, so we're cooped up then, too.

Being cooped up all winter can be rough. Here usual winters mean it starts cold drizzling sometime in November and stops in March with a couple of light snow days and sunny days mixed in. But in recent years it has been very bizarre (obvs not because of climate change, since that "doesn't exist") - 2 of the last 3 years it has been over 70°F (lollipop, that's about 20°C) on Christmas Eve.
But in summer there's no a/c because summers used to not be very hot. Again, that has changed in recent years, and temps are regularly above 90°F for several weeks. Right now it's fine, though. We're in the mid-70s.

January and February suck here then march comes along and you think it's spring but it's just a trick.

I love the winters here in NC. I didn't need anything more than a light jacket. It was hot in July though, but never so hot that we couldn't be outside for at least a little bit. Pools and shade are very important here. I grew up around the great lakes and for me, the "winter" weather is miserable. I say "winter" because it's really almost half the year - November to March. Although I think dizzycooks' state is supposed to benefit from climate change, so maybe we'll all be moving there someday.

Also, dd slept through the night again! 8:30-6:30. It only took 19 months to get here but hoping it's a trend!!!! She did get some cheerios before bed so maybe that helped. I'm always wondering, is she hot/cold, hungry or just doesn't go back to sleep when she stirs. Will never know I guess.

That's insane nellieoleson! Does it fold my laundry for me?? I am sooooo tired you guys. I do not know what is wrong with me. I need to give myself credit for all I've done, but not much of it was optional so it doesn't seem very noteworthy. I still need to work on my training videos for work, but I have no idea when I'll do it.

It was good! I just got home. I should have stayed gone longer, but I am PMSing, I'm tired, and it started getting super hot out so I felt like coming home. I stopped by my favorite coffee roasters and had coffee, almost finished the book I'm reading, and got some beans to take home. Then I went downtown, walked around, went to a few shops, and had lunch. I drank a glass of fancy sake that was drip pressed in an ice igloo (whatever that means) and had some sushi made from albacore tuna that was fresh off the boat this morning. A bit more walking around and shops and headed home! Now dd1 is acting all emotional and grumpy because I left her for a whole 4 hours!

Tomorrow is going to be insane. I have a few loads of laundry to do, S has a dentist appointment, we all need baths/showers, I need to pack for camping, and I need to make a playlist for the drive.
