Glad that the nurse was quick thinking and that his tummy is now empty. Hope he gets the hang of nursing and that you can taper off the meds!

Not gonna lie, it's been rough. We're still struggling with feeds and the pediatrician decided it was best to keep us another night. She was concerned about his weight loss, so we're trying to supplement with formula until my milk comes in fully. The pain from the c section is pretty intense and I'm having to walk more to get things moving in the digestive department, so that's not the most fun. I'm overwhelmed at times and feels like I'm failing, but I just keep trying my best. My husband has been a huge help and the nursing staff have all been awesome. On the plus side, I can't wait to give this guy his first mohawk! And it was amazing seeing the two of them together for the first time.

mrshall1027, Sorry feeding has been difficult, but you're definitely not failing. You just gave birth and have those beautiful kids as a testament of your success! Please be kind to yourself, your body is still recovering.

Ah that hair! Congratulations, he's so cute. That's so scary about the fluid, I'm glad the hospital was on top of it. And you're doing great! You just had major surgery and are taking care of a tiny human! In no way are you failing
At the risk of sounding like a weirdo, your eyelashes look amazing in the pic 😁😁

Sorry it's been a rough couple days. Take it easy on yourself- the first days are crazy overwhelming in the best of circumstances. You're doing a great job of taking care of him!

Congratulations! He is such a cutie.
Remember that when all is said and done, fed is best. Try not to beat yourself up over how your milk supply is doing. There is only so much you can control on that front and you are recovering from major surgery. Lots of (((hugs))).

Thanks everyone. Sorry I haven't been back on here often. I get on tapatalk with the intention of interacting and replying to everyone and then something needs my attention.
I'm trying not to be so hard on myself. I just expected it to be easier, which I don't know why since last time was just as hard. Maybe because it's my second, I had the mindset of "I've got this. Did it once, can do it again."
Every day has been easier, but we're still a long way from getting our routine down. I haven't been very good with taking my pain meds. I broke down crying today because the pain was so bad while I was trying to get ready for the pedi appt. I just hate the way the meds make me feel. But I guess I'd rather that then be in pain.
One day at a time.
