Oh and as for a stool, we have a squarely potty. It curves so you can slide it under the toilet and it's not in the way

We had that Bemis seat stony mentioned and it was great, but they don't last forever. At least not with grownups using them lol. We've broken a couple. They will get you through potty training though.. That is true about them not lasting forever. The magnet on one of them fell off and it was really annoying because the little seat would slam down when you closed the lid. But I called Bemis and they sent me a whole new one for free! It was like a year after purchase.

They were super nice to me. I just called to see if they offered replacement parts and they sent out a whole new seat.

They're also that pressed wood or whatever that absorbs pee so it was time lol

So we got a potty (or rather, my BFF gave me the summer Infant one her daughter never used) and Nugget sat on it tonight, or rather got up and down a million times and wanted to play with the bowl part that pops out. No miracles expected, but she enjoyed herself at least

A who just turned 2 this week will only tell me he wants to go potty when we are out in public. Then fusses and screams like a mad man, but keeps his diaper dry and goes when I take him. Why oh why? It's so hard with public rest rooms and wrangling two kids and a belly and getting a diaper on and off in a stall... I mean potty trained is the goal, so I'll take it, but couldn't he start with being potty trained at home.

Make it something to work for lol. You can also keep a potty in the car. And I've had J pee in a bottle before lol

Or this one where you pee into its nose...

I would rather wash pee clothes than have to clean a pee bottle and all of its crevices.

J starts preschool next month. A couple preschools that I looked at said right on the application and website that the kids had to be potty trained, the one I picked said nothing about it. I talked to the director on the phone and she said nothing about it, and I didn't bring it up. He's only there two days a week for 2 1/2 hrs. I'm trying not to be anxious about it. I should have just asked her but I was afraid. Lol. I already paid in full for the year so they won't kick him out, right? He only poops at home so that won't be an issue.

My vote would be that if nothing says he needs to be potty trained, then you are good to go. I was more afraid to push C to potty train, because I didn't want daycare to deal with accidents all the time. I would think it would be easier on them not to have to track down messes and change wet pants because the kid isn't completely ready.

I wonder why some require them to be trained and some don't?

I wonder why some require them to be trained and some don't? Our preschool doesn't require PTing. But I know one of the teachers (who has taught the preschool group in the past) said that it's a PITA when a kid is still in diapers because of the ratio (10/1). So I'm guessing that some preschools are willing to deal and some aren't. It likely has a lot to do with their philosophy and teaching style.

He's strictly in pull-ups at least, they can just pretend they're underwear

I wonder why some require them to be trained and some don't? Some of it is also a licensing issue. Places that deal with diapers have different regulations. So if a place already has babies/daycare they are more likely to not require PT for the preschool program.

I spoke to H's teacher today (the one I love). He's the last one not potty trained in his classroom.
She was great. She said waiting is fine, and that several kids are "trained" but with issues relating to not fully being trained, or regression.
I confirmed that he can move to the next classroom (in Sept) without training.
Oh well. Three in diapers, here I come!

I would totally just send in pull-ups or undies and be like "we're potty training" lol Our daycare preferred undies while potty training actually

Aldi pull-ups are my new go-to sposies. I did not know they have pull ups! We use their regular diapers and I prefer them over any other brand
