Today is H and my last day before school starts on Monday. DD is going to daycare today so we're having a day date. Lunch and movie, probably a nap in there too. I need to finish some laundry but it should be a nice almost-last-day of our summer vacation.

Morning. I slept like garbage last night. Up every hour. I kept waking gasping for breath, which was a little weird. I have a 9am dietician appointment followed by 10:30am at the MFM. It'll be a long appointment day.

I'm just super glad it's Friday. Between vacation and appointments, I have been out a ton this week and it's been difficult to catch up on work. It's supposed to rain here all weekend so H has committed to doing a lot of work in the nursery which I'm excited about.
I also decided this morning that I want to splurge and get a full-on recliner for the nursery. I believe someone mentioned they had done that previously and loved it? I'm not going to spend an arm and a leg, but I'm going to start looking for good deals between now and October and probably use that as a "treat yo self" prize.

thatgirlrachel I want a glider/recliner for the nursery, but the room is going to be a tight squeeze, so I may have to rethink those plans.

thatgirlrachel, we have a glider recliner in DS's room and I love it. So comfortable and well used the past 2 years. I'll be getting another for #2's room for sure. Last day of work before we leave for 2 weeks of vacation! Hoping for a light day so I can work on packing, as we are super behind.

I get to call the city treasurer today to find out how to apply for our cars being property tax exempt. We've lived here for 3 years and haven't done it yet, but now that we have 2 cars it's becoming an issue.
I hate talking on the phone!

blackmamba Enjoy the Hamptons! I used to watch Royal Pains (some show about a concierge medical service in the Hamptons - basically like preppy medical MacGyver), and it always made me want to visit! thatgirlrachel Before the bug infestation destroyed everything in the nursery at our old place, we had a lazy-boy recliner rocker. It was amazeballs - I spent so much time in it with DS. Sadly, the bugs ate it, but I was really happy with something that rocked, could also recline if you wanted it to. Normal Friday over here. DS is so happy that DH is home, but he has also been a bit extra emotional whenever DH leaves. I'm sure it will even itself out over the weekend. Just happy we're all unpacked and DH isn't doing any more travel until after my maternity leave is over. Wohoo!

Over the past few days I've noticed my general aches from being very pregnant are turning quite a bit more painful. Looking up some things via Dr. Google it looks like I'm joining the SPD club. Any time I have to roll over, get up from a sitting position, or otherwise lift my legs I get a sharp pain under the bump. Not helpful today for my vacation packing! I've wrapped up my bump in a babywearing wrap and am powering through it.

mkrupar, hope you have good appts today. I had mine all early this week...reminds me I need to go update the thread. cythe, I hate talking on the phone too! which is what I've been doing practically all week. danvers, enjoy your last hurrah day of summer! Anyhooo...so happy we actually got some rain yesterday morning and afternoon! which pushed the temps down to nice 60s instead of the searing high 90s the last couple months. I took that opportunity to make a batch of cheddar biscuits and granola yesterday morning. The cheddar biscuits are super duper easy and fast to make and freezes well, great accompaniment to soup and bonus that DS loves it. I'll post the recipe on the freezer meals thread. Hoping to make some headway with my topponcino and covers today and just realized that we have about 2 months + before bubs makes an appearance and that's if I can hold out till term. This is crazy but I need to get going with DS halloween costume soon too! because there is no way in heck I'll have time or energy to make it after bubs shows up.

At work, was supposed to work this weekend but I'm using some vacation days. The weather is supposed to be perfect pregnant in the summer weather. We are planning on doing a BBQ with the family to tell them the sex of the baby.
I have someone working on a custom closet design and am waiting to hear back with the design. I'm hoping it won't cost a fortune 😬.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned last week that I had SO MANY leg cramps last pregnancy (including while pushing) but I'd only had one so far this time. WHY? Why did I say that?? I had THREE last night and I could hardly walk when I got out of bed this morning. I had two back to back in one calf MOTN and one in the other calf this morning.

The fact that there isn't going to be a nursery for fella#2 and our bedroom still has a bunch of office crap! we don't have room for one. We actually used an IKEA Poang chair with DS but we gave that to my dad and mom to use when they moved in shortly after. We'll just have to survive without a recliner or w/e. I also really don't want to get anymore furniture than we absolutely need...I am not a fan of stuff. SaveSave

Got all of DD's clothes dropped off on Wednesday for the JBF sale that starts today. I hope that I get a decent amount back. Next project is to work on their Christmas stockings that I've been trying to make for 2yrs now and move furniture out of the office (which will be sequel's room) and into other parts of the house until we can clear out the guest bedroom (waiting for MIL to visit after sequel is born).

I've wrapped up my bump in a babywearing wrap and am powering through it. My SPD pain is directly right into the core of my pubic bone. Like someones been kicking me there (in the bone) repeatedly. Under the bump sounds more like a pull or strain. I'm not a doctor though, only speaking to what I've experienced. I hope for you it's not SPD! Have you tried icing it or an actual maternity belt to lift the tummy off the strained/hurting area? Those have helped me a lot!

CoachTsWife Only my left leg seems affected by leg cramps - but yes, walking (or going back to sleep) becomes a lot more painful! thatgirlrachel We got a recliner for DDs nursery and I love it. Nursing was so comfortable at midnight and I probably rocked DD to sleep much longer than I would have (or maybe should have?) otherwise. H slept in it with DD for like a week when she got croup and needed to be propped but wouldn't sleep on her own. Hope you can find a good one!

Took DD to Target and she kept herself entertained with the stickers I brought so I was able to get everything we needed there. Brought H and I home icees since it's 90 outside and I was super hot.

mkrupar Sorry you had a rough night. : ( Good luck at your appts today! Took DS to the fair for the last time today. It's been so nice having a new place to go during the day, I'm going to miss it. I'm also going to miss the food. Treated myself to some mini donuts, french fries (DS's favorite), and a foot long corn dog. DS played in the play area for a while again, then we walked around for almost 2 hours just looking and eating. I'm loving this weather too, 70-75*F is my perfect outside temp.
