For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? 4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say?

Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? the one she seems to "need" the most is right when she sees me after work. we nurse to sleep as well.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? Be kind & loving the life i live.

1. How old is your LO? 2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3 3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? With DS2, it was that he was so much less obsessive about it than DS1. With DS1, it was HOW obsessive he was. 4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? After I get home from work.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? lol, mine are all rude and profane. i might pick "someone told me you remind them of an owl" because i torment DS1 with this constantly.

1. How old is your LO? 3.5
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2 ish
3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? How much I enjoy it. I'm not looking forward to it changing.
4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to: Before bed followed closely by wake up.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Just pain. I said ouch this morning and DD said "what mommy, I'm just nushing". I felt a little bad.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? Gah. This is tough. Maybe "it's better to regret something you did then something you didn't do"?

4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to? Before bed
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? Be strong. Breathe. You will get through this too.

1. How old is your LO? 21 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-3
3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? I really thought I'd be ready to stop by 2. I never envisioned nursing beyond that. I'm surprised by how ok I am with her continuing to nurse.
4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? Wake up. It's our longest session of the day and she always asks to nurse both sides.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? 34 weeks and doing good.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? I don't know if I have a personal motto but I do have a shirt that says "Mommin ain't easy". I feel like it's going to become even more appropriate as I learn to balance a toddler and newborn.

1. How old is your LO? 12 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? It really varies. Sometimes twice, other days it's more like 5. He never wants to NIP anymore, so if we stay home he's more likely to nurse.
3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? With DS1 I was very very attached to his before bedtime session. I didn't realize how much I would miss that when he weaned at 25 months. With B, I'm surprised how different he is with his nursing sessions. They are always short, full of acrobats, and lots of pinching. He never really settles and snuggles like DS1 did.
4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? Before bed for sure. I put him down 100% awake, but this is the only session where he will settle down a little bit and relax.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? Fake it Til You Make It. I've been told I have a lot of confidence.... but I'm usually pretending I know what I'm doing. Eventually I grow more confident, but a lot of the time...nope! Just winging it.

1. How old is your LO? 14.75 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 10+
3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? That she would prefer it over solids. I always just assumed that as she got closer to a year and after that she would eat more solids and BF less. And, obviously, eventually I'm sure she will. But I really thought it would have happened by now.
4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? Oh god, I don't know. Tie between wake up, before nap, and before bed. Those are the ones that are non-negotiable.

1. How old is your LO? - a month shy of 2.5 years
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? - 2-4x
3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? - how consistent it is. I thought there'd be some movement toward self weaning by now, I'm the last of my BMB still nursing, but DS keeps chugging along.
4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? - difficult to say. Maybe bedtime. He doesn't nurse to sleep but it definitely helps him wind down.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? - I have never thought about this.

1. How old is your LO? 20 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? weekdays, twice (when I get home and at bedtime). On weekends, she usually nurses about 4 times - morning, nap, evening and bedtime. 3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? How easy it is. I didn't necessarily plan on breastfeeding past a year, but it's just been so natural to keep going. 4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? She is definitely most attached to her bedtime boob, although she does go down to bed without me when I'm not home.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? Hangry is as Hangry does..

1. 20 months! (how?! how are we in the home stretch to 2?) 2. A lot 3. How much milk I'm still making (DD1 was nursing a lot less at this age). Also, how much any slight deviation from the norm causes my hormones to go crazy (like not nursing at night, or if she decides to start nursing less for a few weeks, and then she wants to start nursing more for a few weeks). I've been breaking out so badly. ETA And my period has been very erratic after being consistent. 4. over-night nursing (night weaning has failed)
QOTW: Life doesn't get easier.

1. 20.5mo 2. Morning and night. Cutting out naps except weekends. 3. The bond and how much my DD depends on it sometimes. 4. Bedtime
Pregnant /bf: really bad latch pain. I am pretty sure we're pretty much dried up, it reeeeally hurts. But I'm trucking on for the mouthful E gets.
GTKY : ... I have no idea ahhaahhahaha.

Is this the right place? I'm always late.
1. How old is your LO? 18 mo 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-3 3. What is something about extended BFing that surprised you? That I'm still doing it, I guess. I've been taking a lot of short work trips but they haven't seemed to affect our nursing relationship yet. I still have some frozen milk that he gets twice a day while I'm gone. That's almost gone though, so we'll see how he reacts then. 4. Which nursing session of the day is your LO most attached to (wake-up, naptime, before bed...)? I think the one before bed.
Non-BFing question of the week: If you had to put your personal motto on a shirt or bumper sticker, what would it say? I'm not sure I have a personal motto. If I were designing a bumper sticker it would probably say "be nice to your neighbor." ETA actually, I think it would just say "don't be an asshole."
