I was just going to start one! Whelp - I'm going to be an AW and gush about all the goodies DH brought back from the states! We got the dockatot, auto rock n play, lillebaby airflow (thanks again duskymonkey for the discount PSA on that one!), new diaper bag for me, a boppy, replacement pump parts for my Madela PISA, a baby book for LO, pampers swaddlers, Woombies, and lots of baby meds/shampoo/sunscreen/diaper cream. We also got some shoes, books, Cars undies/socks/bedsheets, and Daniel Tiger toys for DS. One regular sized bottle of Burts Bees Baby Bee shampoo is friggin $25 here. And all the other stuff we got would be at least 2-4 times the full sticker price. No joke. I am sooooo happy to get all this stuff at USA prices (plus we got the 15% registry discount at target and used our red card for another 5%). DH also brought back other random things we can't get here (acquafresh extreme clean toothpaste, deodorant without skin whitener in it, tampons, my favorite brand of always thin panty liners, log cabin maple syrup, stovers stove top stuffing mix, light brown sugar for baking, enchilada sauce, Reeses pieces, a bag of snack-sized candy for Halloween, etc.). I am extremely pleased - he was a rock star target shopper. Plus - I held out on the chocolates and didn't eat any until lunch time, so as to avoid reflux at night. All in all - a really good day! I'm just sitting here thinking....

CoachTsWife That does sound boring. I'm not very entertaining so I'm not a good distraction. I dropped DD of at daycare since I planned on cleaning the house before I go back to work tomorrow. So far I've tidied and organized some of DD books and toys from when she's was younger as well as a general pick up and put away on our main floor. I'm wiped already and I haven't even lifted a duster or a mop. Oh and our house is not huge at all.

Taitai that is so awesome! I do not envy him having to pack and lug that stuff around airports, though. He IS a rockstar!! I probably would've downed half the chocolates MOTN, so I'm impressed with your self control.

Taitai That's amazing, I'm excited for you! lol Good work Mr taitai. AFM, just chilling with the toddler. It's a rainy and cold day here, as predicted, so we're just snuggling under a blanket having breakfast/coffee. Waiting to leave for my OB appt in an hour.

Ugh I have to do the same exact thing. I can't really update until last minute so that I have the most accurate financials, but I'm still procrastinating as much as possible. I still feel like I have so much time left.

rachydc, you do have time. I just don't really have anything else to do ATM. My job goes from SLOW to BUSY and back and forth and so on. I'm in a slow phase and decided to just get this part done because I think it's going to get pretty busy soon and be busy until I'm out on leave.

The time I'm out on leave is my busiest time of year! Kinda thankful I'll be out, but means a lot of writing/explaining for the Temp. I've had it on my To-Do list to at least start to update some thigns for her, but somehow I love procrastinating and torturing myself later down the line ???

Hi all. Super busy day for me - still playing catch up from my vacation plus being out part of yesterday and today. I had my u/s and checkup this morning and both went great! I'll update the appointment thread soon. In short, baby is measuring great and my DR "issues" aren't as bad as I thought they were.

I just booked a photographer for our newborn photos. That feels good.
I had a decent sized, healthy lunch. And I'm still so very hungry. Every day I think "ok, I packed enough food, surely I won't get hungry today" and every day about this time I'm like "why is all the food gone???"

thatgirlrachel What does DR stand for? Taitai That's an amazing haul! Good for him for getting all that on an airplane. CoachTsWife Ugh I need to start my mat leave "how to" document, but... I'll keep putting it off for now. @trinitrotulene (there's no way I got that right) hope you're staying cool today! I'm just about to go shopping for our big friends camping trip this weekend. Last year at this time I was loading the cart up with bota boxes, this time just snacks and La Croix. DS is really excited, every night this week at bedtime he asks me to tell him stories about camping.

Your DS will hv so much fun this year and thus you will enjoy it more that it will somewhat negate the no drinking. We do a big up north cabin thing each year and every year they boys get older they have more fun and it's less stressful!

This is what I did today too! I felt pretty productive actually working on maternity sub plans and I'm tempted to work on stuff for when I return after Christmas just so I don't have to worry too much when baby comes. Gotta ride this productivity wave while I can!!!

Just got back from the vet. We walk up there since it's only a 5 minute walk but my dog knows how to turn it into a 20 minute adventure.

Related: Casper has thrown up twice and has diarrhea today. I'm not worried, per se, but I'm annoyed that my vet said they'd call to check up on him yesterday and they haven't at all. I'm gonna call them tomorrow.

Alright, I'm going to be the person to ask *that* question. My mom and aunt called me today asking what I thought about them throwing a shower for me. They thought it would be fine since I had a girl before so I obviously need some new things. They are so excited and already planning away. I'm torn between worried what others will think and also saying screw it, its the 21st century and I do need some boy stuff. So O17, I need your honest feedback here. Should I put a halt on the planning or let it ride? For the record, I would keep the guest list small so that it was really only mine and H's family (his family is big) and close friends (4-5 friends likely).

Taitai I'm jealous of your haul! How big were was his suitcase? This is accurate. Hahahaha. Since we are frequent fliers, DH gets three checked pieces of luggage (up to 70lbs per suitcase) to check in on the flight. So we basically have these huge lightweight hardtop spinner suitcases, which hold an incredible amount of stuff for our trips to/from the states. DH brought 2 empty ones (along with his 3rd one which was half full with clothes and presents to our family from where we live). Then, he came back with them totally totally loaded! No joke, this was DH at Target:

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've always been vocal (maybe not here but I gotta keep on lol) about thinking second showers are tacky. That said, I think it depends on a lot of things. For me, if I was invited to a third shower or something, and there were 100 people invited and 3 registries, I'd be rolling my eyes so hard. I do think that every baby should be celebrated, absolutely. It's just the gifts I feel weird about. I also know that people just genuinely want to give gifts sometimes. Even if you said no gifts, people would still show up with gifts. All that to say, it's hard and I don't have any real advice lol.

thatgirlrachel It's super common to have second showers or "sprinkle" these days! I told my mom not to throw me one because I don't need one but that's because I still have all the things from DD except diapers and a double stroller . However if I were going to have one I would make it look more like it was out of my control (your mom throwing it for you) and I wouldn't register for it, but that's just my opinion. thatgirlrachel Is having a shower for second, third, etc babies common in your family or your area? I personally would probably eye roll if I was invited to a second shower for anyone - especially if there was a registry listed on the invite. But that is probably because it doesn't happen in my circle of friends/family. If your H's side of the family always does this thing - well, they should be expecting it and it probably wouldn't be a big deal to them, YKWIM? I also think you are in a tough spot, because a shower is a gift from whoever is hosting it, and you don't want to make them think you are ungrateful. Maybe you could come to a compromise and only invite people for whom you know this would be "the norm" and wouldn't bat an eye?

That's why I would want to keep the guest list small and contained to those who would be getting us gifts anyway, literally family and our few best friends. I don't want to make anyone feel like they have to get us a gift but I know our immediate family will get us something anyway, shower or not. Ughhh. I'm really just thinking (typing?) out loud at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
