auri I told my parents, sister and BFF when I was 3 weeks. I figured even if something happens I'll need my family's support anyways so why not let them know. I say go for it.

auri I really want to tell people too! I wish I could fast forward just a few weeks. I'll tell my parents when my mom gets back in town at the end of next week. Plus I feel like SHIT for being only 3 days pregnant so I dont want people (especially at work) to think I'm slacking.

mirabelle my appt isn't till August 18. Just cause that's when DH can get off of work without his brothers(coworkers) getting suspicious. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow so I'll update then. 😊 ETA No, I'm eight weeks today, I just have no idea what day it is.

alwayscheese, that makes me feel better. With my first I didn't go in until like 13 weeks because of insurance I was waiting to have kick in and it was no big deal.

alwayscheese, that makes me feel better. With my first I didn't go in until like 13 weeks because of insurance I was waiting to have kick in and it was no big deal. Ya we don't have "proper insurance" until November. We do have a plan that will cover some costs until then, but DH is trying to have me get minimal appts until then. I guess we'll see how my appt at 10 weeks goes.

Height: 5'3
Weeks pregnant: 7
Baby is the size of a: blueberry
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM--DS is 5.
Team: We found out today its a GIRL! Technically we have had that info since we had the embryo genetically tested back in January, but I didn't want to know until I felt more sure I wouldn't miscarry.
Appointments: Today was our first ultrasound and last appointment with the RE. I have a phone appointment with a nurse at my new practice next week, and then my first OB appointment the week after that, at 9w.
Symptoms: I go through waves of fatigue, some days excruciating, other days not so bad. Bloating and constipation, but that may be from the progesterone supps I'm still on. No morning sickness or nausea.
Milestones: Saw the heartbeat this morning! It was perfect.
Rants/Raves/Vents: None. Just feeling happy and positive about this for the first time in a long time. Its been a long journey, and I'm trying to let myself get excited!

Appointments: no appts right now - I need to schedule
Symptoms: exhaustion, constant nausea
Milestones: making it to 10 wks with a heartbeat! Graduating from the RE!!
Rants/Raves/Vents: I am so frustrated because I probably have to find a new OB and deliver at a different hospital than what I have always planned. between DH's and my job we have one option for insurance and the network my maternity care would have happened in no longer accepts this insurance. I am so annoyed and hate the idea of having to switch.

FTM/STM/TTM/etc: Third Time Mom, 1YO DS, 3YO DD

Age: 28
Height: 5'8"
Weeks pregnant: 9+4
Baby is the size of a: southern pecan
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM
Team: green (for now)
Appointments: US this Friday, then will be switching to my OB.
Symptoms: nausea (mostly afternoon and night), bloating, boobs are a little less sore!!, unrelenting fatigue, all the fun things.
Milestones: I bought some maternity clothes for the first time ever. May be a bit premature, but I'm excited for some stretchy pants.
Rants/Raves/Vents: Prepare for the rant. I have hypothyroidism and the RE recently increased my dosage of synthroid, after which I noticed some heart palpitations (possibly?, hard to describe). I called my RE who referred me to my family doc (I called and described symptoms to a nurse who never called back). I also called my OB, who neglected to call me back after recommending a cardiology referral (never completed the referral until I called them to follow up). I ended up going to the ER last Fri because the palpitations were getting more and more frequent and I was really freaked out. ER doc thought they might be due to the higher dosage, so I left a message with the RE to see what I should do. They were THE WORST at handling this whole situation, never called me back, and were super chill when I finally called them back like it was not a big deal (hoping it's not, but it seems like a big deal when it's happening to you). I've now gone back down to my previously lower dosage but I'm still noticing the symptoms. Cardiology finally called and I have an appt next Fri. So hopefully it will get better. But UGH. Sorry for the novel, I'm just so frustrated with this.

filingjointly, so cool you get to be pregnant with your sister! I was so wishing I could be pregnant with one of my close friends. nuggetrn, congrats on graduating from the RE - I will do the same this Friday! auri, I second sammysam. We told my parents really early too, which I was worried about, but ultimately decided we would tell them anyway if anything happened. It was nice to have some support outside of MH.

It's cool because I'm the oldest of five and I had my first two kids before any of my siblings were even married. This is my sister's first so she's so excited that I'm pregnant too and that our kids will be like 2 months apart. When I told her she screamed then slapped my butt then said, "I don't know why I did that!" Then burst into tears. So. She's definitely feeling the hormones.

Thanks for the perspective. I think part of my hesitation is that if I tell my family DH will want to tell his. I don't trust my mil not to talk about it to DD and I was wanting to wait to tell her. My mil has no common sense.

My mil has no common sense. I told my mom almost immediately. DH was dying to tell his family but I wanted to wait to tell them until we heard the heartbeat. I felt guilty but he was very understanding considering our loss history. I feel like it maybe wasn't exactly fair but he was a good sport about it. Even after we told them I had to strictly enforce to MIL that she was to tell no one else.

a day late but here i am anyways, babybean - happy belated birthday! akwild - i'm sorry your appointment got pushed back. hopefully these next few days go quickly for you! nuggetrn - congrats on graduating. that must be such a great feeling. filingjointly - that is awesome you get to experience this with your sister. last time two of sils were due within 2 months of me and it was great. it is so fun getting to see all of the kids grow up together. clementine - that sucks that was handled the way it was. glad you are ok and hopefully you won't have to deal with that again. Age: 34 Height: 5'3" Weeks pregnant: 8w 6d Baby is the size of a: wild strawberry/cerise confite/2x2 logo/pygmy sea horse FTM/STM/TTM/etc: stm Team: finding out! Appointments: 8/3 today! Symptoms: mood swings, exhaustion, pretty sure i'm getting some sweets cravings (hard to say if this is just an excuse though🤷🏼♀️) Milestones: Rants/Raves/Vents: we decided if things go well today we will probably tell the rest of our family. it's a little earlier than i would like, but now that we are living near everyone and seeing both sides on a more regular basis, it's just going to be too hard to keep it a secret. if anything were to happen, it would be hard for me not to talk about it anyways. there have been so many times where i've almost let it slip so i'm looking forward to not having to hide it anymore.

clementine I had a tachycardia episode in July and it was very scary. I hope your providers take your concerns more seriously, even just as reassurance for something that ends up not being serious. Fx for a god cardio appointment. auri my MIL can't be trusted so I'm in a similar boat as you. She told people when I was 6 weeks, then after I asked her to stop she kept telling more people and asked them not to tell me they knew. I had bleeding into my second trimester so I was really upset because I expected the worst. It sucks becsuse I'm not against Mh's side knowing, I just don't want that taken away from me again with this pregnancy. I've told some family and friends, I guess that's "not fair", but meh.
