We were in London a couple weeks ago and of course did some Royal related sightseeing my kiddo wanted to see (BP, Tower of London, the Royal Jewels, etc) but I just wanted to scream about how they all suck and are colonizers and racists. |

We were in London a couple weeks ago and of course did some Royal related sightseeing my kiddo wanted to see (BP, Tower of London, the Royal Jewels, etc) but I just wanted to scream about how they all suck and are colonizers and racists. I think just the tone of it’s possible to end homelessness makes me think performative To me, due to their stance to not be political, they can't end homelessness because it is a political issue. They'd have to work to change laws, work to find funding for developments for more housing and potentially fight with locals who think housing the unhoused in their neighborhood is going to reduce the value of their own homes. They would need to address issues that they (BRF) make money off of property and land, so it has to be performative. I can see they working on not visually seeing the homeless but I can't imagine they actually do what is necessary to move towards ending homelessness. |
