Non Breast and Non baby related.
I bought a gallon of milk on Sunday from local farmstandy/supermarket. Like it is mostly produce but open year round and stocks overpriced dry goods etc.
I never check dates because life - and when I gave M some this morning she said it didn't taste good. I smelled it and agreed. Checked the date and its August 1st. It wasn't labeled sell by or use by - just date stamped.
I likely won't call and complain, though knowing the place they may do something about it. Should it have been sour already? Should the store do anything about it?
I will check dates now, especially there cuz thats also overpriced milk!

I've had this happen with milk from the store when it was stored on the door. I try to keep it towards the back.

I have when I leave milk on the counter in warmer weather. But usually mine doesn't smell fun for a good week after the date.

I've run into that a few times in my life, but typically not with the milk I currently buy. DH will not drink milk that is within a couple of days of the best by date, and pours it out the day of.

Piggy backing on this question, any ideas on what to do with a large amount of milk that was left out overnight?

Piggy backing on this question, any ideas on what to do with a large amount of milk that was left out overnight? Make yogurt? Is it sour, or just left overnight and you're wary of drinking it? If it's not smelly and you're just wary of drinking it, maybe use it in a bath? They make beauty products with milk, might be good for your skin?

Honestly? I would call and complain. They may have left a bottle behind, or it may be a larger issue.
No, it shouldn't be funky the first day you open it two days after purchasing.

Could it have been frozen at any point? I feel like that makes it taste weird

I thought you could only use milk that was left out if it was raw unpasteurized milk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Especially in the summer I wasn't sure if there was some other use for it besides drinking it. I fed some to my chickens but they didn't drink much of it and I have two gallons that DH forgot in the car.
