Figured we can have a place to share recipes too! I love all the food on Thanksgiving
I’ve seen the memes of the veggie tray plates with all the sides in the big portion with the turkey in the smallest and that is me.
I want to do a dessert with pumpkin but don’t know what yet. Last year we did brownies and cheesecake.

I usually do apple pie and I feel I have pretty much perfected my recipe (to my tastes!) over the years. But, the NYT just published a few "new" pie recipes and some of them are really tempting...
My favorite thanksgiving side is stuffing (well, dressing)- and I like it traditional just bread and herbs. Don't come at me with cornbread or sausage.

So I need just a few good pumpkin recipes that aren't just pie. So if you find anything that is actually good tag me. Last year everyone overate cause too many appetizers and then turkey. So the unexpected hit dessert was the mini frozen eclairs from grocery store. I had a box the freezer that was seen and snagged then Everyone ate one and that was about it.

My favorite thanksgiving side is stuffing (well, dressing)- and I like it traditional just bread and herbs. Don't come at me with cornbread or sausage. Dh wants allllll the things in the stuffing/dressing. Sausage chestnuts cornbread oysters cranberries etc. like never just one thing he wants more than one. So I buy something and if he's not awake available and ready to add his stuff to some stuffing then Oops I forgot The boys really like a bit crunchy stuffing like all on a cookie sheet I usually do a 9x13 dish. The dh always likes stuffing and kinda on the wet side. So again if he's available and ready to help without nagging too much then he can stuff some in the bird butt when I'm putting it I the oven. I think this year I'll do muffin tins again even if we get it premade I'll warm it in muffin tins in toaster oven. Some with extra broth to be soft and some cook a bit longer to be crunchier My dressing is dried bread crumbs sautéed onion celery mix together with an egg broth salt pepper adding sage til it smells right. Very scientific

Pumpkin bread was also going to be my suggestion. Its still dessert-y but you can also justify having another dessert too.

I can’t remember who recommended it, but last year someone shared about the pecan pie baked oatmeal and it has been such a hit whenever we have guests. My younger DD always ask me to make a batch.

You are going to have a fair amount of sugar in most pumpkin things as it's pretty blah on its own. You could sub in some mashed overripe bananas in place of adding sugar sugar.

I don't know if you're all about the home-made and gourmet, but if you want a SUPER simple pumpkin muffin/bread recipe, you can buy a box of spice cake mix. Add 1 can of pumpkin, and then I shred in a zucchini, and then bake (I usually do muffins but you can do bread too). I've been making this since my kids were tiny, and my family loves them, and since they're so easy to throw together I tend to make on busy mornings. Not sure if the spice cake mix has any less sugar than other recipes though.

I will make the mapleme pumpkin pie every year for the rest of my life. Butterfly Bakery Pumpkin Pie Ingredients: 1 3- to 4 lb pie pumpkin 2/3 cups maple syrup 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla 3 large eggs 1 teaspoon cinnamon ½ teaspoon ginger ¼ teaspoon cloves 1 unbaked 9” pie shell Directions: Preheat the oven to 450° F Slice the pumpkin in half from pole to pole. Scoop out the seeds and discard. Place the pumpkin, open side down, on a greased cookie sheet. Roast until a fork easily slides through the skin or the pumpkin, about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. Scoop out the flesh of the pumpkin into a food processor and puree. In a large bowl, beat the eggs until uniformly yellow. Add 1½ cups pureed pumpkin, maple syrup and vanilla. Whisk until smooth. Whisk in the cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Pour mixture into the pie shell and bake for 20 minutes at 450°, lower the temperature to 350° and bake for another 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Serves 8

I came in here looking for ideas for a potluck and I think the pumpkin cornbread is just what I needed. I think I'll make a batch for grown ups and a batch of regular cornbread for the kids.

Emeril's Cranberry Sauce is my favorite
1 bag (12 ounces) cranberries Grated zest and juice of 2 oranges 1/4 cup ruby port 3/4 cup sugar, or more to taste 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 1 cup toasted pecans or walnuts
Combine (except nuts) all together in a sauce pan and cook for 10 minutes, stir in the nuts and serve cooled

Serves 8 I have a new employee, who, after being hired, we realized that she was dating the kid of a person that I knew. Then she paused and was all, "wait, is that YOUR pumpkin pie recipe?!" Apparently, she was introduced to it as a staple in her partner's house and it's already become a staple in her house. It's Vermont viral.

Thanks to Eagles circa 2011, I have made a batch of slutty brownies for every thanksgiving and they are always the dessert favorite. Also the easiest thing to make, which is a plus.

Grease a muffin pan or use cupcake liners. Get the Pillsbury cookie dough, put a slice in the bottom of each. Place an Oreo on top of it. Fill each cup 3/4 of the way with brownie batter. Bake at 350 for about half an hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
