SOs DD is (hopefully) getting her license next Friday. SO and her mom already scored a car for her (it's legit a perfect older civic that they got for a steal and I'm actually mildly jealous 😂) but I wanted to get her something smallish as an extra surprise.
So, 16 year old, female new driver - what's good??!!!
I'm thinking jumper cables (but I have to slyly find out if there's a set in there already), maybe like some small first aid type stuff.....what else?? I'm going to be over there later and check to see about like a Bluetooth receiver too, it's too old to have one built in.

Check out if her windshield wipers are still ok. I hated having to buy windshield wipers for my car when I was a poor high school/college student. Also, how about an air freshener? Bath and body works have some really good smelling ones. A trash bag for the car is another idea. Oh, and maybe a gift card for a car wash?

Oh, I'm doing this for my niece that turned 16 last week. I think I have it all planned and at least 90% of it purchased/coming in the mail. - compact tire inflator. I have a bigger one & it's saved my butt more than once. These are way more compact than mine (H is a mechanic & bought a "fancy" one for my car), but this is adequate, according to him & like $2. I bought like 5 of them to give out as gifts, too, to my mom, my sister, etc. - a keychain wristlet. Niece isn't a purse girl, so this is perfect for her. - touchland sanitizer + the aloe scent spray. Also ordered gold rings to switch out the basic silver one to match. - phone holder. I have the same one & I love it for when I'm using my phone as a GPS. - safety hammer. - simple first aid kit. I have the square one in my purse and I've bought these for my girls' Girl Scout backpacks, simple enough. - B&BW car fragrance holder + gift card. She has scent sensitivities, so I'm hoping by doing this, she can find at least a couple scents she's happy with. and finally, it's all in a trash can. I have the 3 gallon one for my car and I'm happy with it. I got her the 2 gallon.

There are some really great jump boxes that aren't too pricey. The one we have also has a USB/phone charger ports which would be helpful if you were stranded somewhere waiting for help.

I was given a maglight flash light for my 19th birthday and I still have it (I'm 43). I was told by my step dad to always keep it in my car.

My sister got her daughter a car emergency kit. I got her a key chain that reads “don’t do stupid shit” lol. She’s 22 and still carries it.

Get the jump box, better than jumper cables because you don't need another car! Has saved me and others many times. Gas GC Starbucks GC Phone charger Favorite lip balm to keep in car Emergency $10 bill for the console Pack of gum Car tweezers Sauce cups (Amazon) Does it have a CD player? If so, buy some used CDs from the pawn shop to keep in there

TBH while all the car stuff mentioned is all great ideas it feels like an unasked for vacuum or pots and pans for Christmas or a birthday present.
I would focus on the fun side of driving and get a few small value ($10 or so) GCs to dunkin/starbucks, target or Walmart, fast food along with a gas gift card to kick off many happy adventures.

A bracelet key chain was popular with my daughter.
All my teenagers put a little stuffed animal on their dash. If she has an animal or cartoon character she likes, that could be cute.

Ok so SO has a jump box in there already w the like, inflator, jumpers, etc.
So I got some hello kitty air freshners, I'm gonna order like a lightening charger today too, then do I think a dunkin gc. I feel like the seat/steering wheel covers, etc. She won't want. She's like the unflashiest teen ever lol.
