Thanks to this board's suggestion, I joined the Red, Wine, Blue Ohio FB group and then joined the local Trouble Nation group for my town. Now I'm signed up for an event to write postcards on Thursday and meet some of the members! This is a totally new thing for me, and kind of outside of my comfort zone, but I'm excited to take a more active role in the election.

DH and I bought Harris/Walz shirts and signed up for road signs for Harris + Alsobrooks. First time doing either of those things, for both of us! We took bets on how long our signs will last. We're in a purple-ish part of MD where the Trumpers around are still loud and proud (though noticeably fewer in number!) I know our presidential votes won't "count" but we're trying to do our part for Alsobrooks and other down ballot races locally because we def have some quacks trying to get on the school board. pearbear we're out of our comfort zone too, but at least we're doing something like Mrs. Obama told us to  |

There is a house with a huge corner lot that I pass every day on my commute that already had tons of trump signs, flags, and banners and now they've added a new HUGE GIGANTIC lawn sign. It makes me sick to drive past it twice day. Why, people?

We drove through a pretty rural area Saturday and I was very excited to see a few Harris signs. Cautiously optimistic, but still irritated the dems seem to have written off Ohio

I saw a "grab him by the ballot" sign this weekend, which I appreciated. I think the vaseline makes it slippery. So far, the two houses near me that had Trump signs in 2020, haven't put anything up yet |

I got my 200 postcards for swing states this afternoon!! This is a first time for me! This is the most active I’ve ever been in politics.
Someone didn’t steal my Barbie Madam President sign, but put a handwritten sign in front of it saying, “Evil Woman for Infanticide.” I didn’t get out there before the kids were at the bus stop, but I took it down. I don’t think I was targeted since it’s hard to see the house (we live on 4.5 wooded acres) and they put one under the real big “Monadnock Women for Harris…Obviously!” sign on the town square. No other Harris sign that was obviously on someone’s personal property got this sign. That said, I’m seeing more and more Harris signs, including one with a cat! Maybe that’s why whoever made that sign is feeling pressure which is good!
And my Swifties for Harris “In my voting era,” shirt came in!! It’s voting day approved because nobody’s endorsed!

We're like a week away from DV awareness month. I literally just got an email from my kids' school notifying me of their intended instruction for SA Prevention. We are allowed to review the materials, and there is an option to opt your child out. And I'm finishing my part for a stalking seminar for the college next month.
Educate the Youth!
Opt out for SA education!? No! NY adheres to Erin's Law, meaning we are required by law to teach abuse, sex trafficking, online predators, all of it. Myself and the other health teacher co-teach with counselors in the room. We use Child Safety Matters, from the Monique Burr Foundation for our curriculum. It is, ironically, headquartered in Florida. |
